Chapter 145: Chapter 145: And through her, bring her entire family to ruin.
Dorothy stumbled, her trembling hands gripping the armrest of the chair as she sank into it, settling in front of the table. Her entire body shivered at the prospect of getting caught.
“What do we do now, David? We’ve been careful—covered all our tracks. How could this happen?”
David’s expression remained unreadable, though the tightness in his jaw betrayed his surprise. He stared at the open envelope, the contents gnawing at him. Every word inside was true, and that fact alone meant they couldn’t afford to dismiss the threat.
But more than fear, curiosity burned in his mind. Someone out there not only knew the truth but was bold enough to use it against him.
“We can’t let this slide,” David said coldly, his voice steady despite the storm building inside him. “I’ll find out who’s behind this. Someone’s trying to double-cross us—and I don’t intend to let them.”
While David’s thoughts sharpened with determination, Dorothy’s mind wandered elsewhere, tugged by doubt and suspicion.
“What if it’s your father?” She whispered, her voice barely cutting through the tension in the room.
Her words froze David mid-thought. His eyes flicked to her, sharp and cautious.
“He’s always been the one standing in your way,” Dorothy continued carefully. “What if this time he’s the one pulling the strings?”
David’s stare darkened. His fists clenched, knuckles whitening, and he gave a firm shake of his head.
“We can’t just throw blame around,” he said at last, his voice low but resolute. “There’s no way my father could’ve uncovered the scheme we’ve been running against Kalix Andreas.”
Dorothy hesitated, then gave a slow, reluctant nod. She couldn’t argue with him—not when the truth was painfully clear. No one, not a soul, knew the real mastermind behind everything that had been happening to Kalix Andreas. No one except her and David.
And Dianna? She was nothing more than a pawn. A scapegoat they had planned to use… and discard when the time was right.
“There’s someone else trying to cross us,” David said, his voice darkening with determination. “And I will find out who’s behind it—soon.”
He wasn’t about to let anyone jeopardize his plan. He would stop at nothing to hunt down the person responsible.

Meanwhile, inside his room, Eric ended the call with his informant, who had just confirmed the envelope had been delivered to the Greyson mansion—under David’s name.
“Now let’s play, David,” Eric muttered with a cold chuckle. “Let’s see how you handle this threat.”
But his smirk faded as his thoughts drifted to Winter. The memories of their time together still carved an aching void in his chest, one that never seemed to close. No matter how long it took, Eric was determined. One day, Winter would be his—and they would have the life he had always imagined.
Lost in his thoughts, he didn’t notice the door creak open until soft footsteps broke the silence. Agnes stepped out, a towel wrapped around her chest, her damp hair clinging to her shoulders.
Her eyes flickered with a sharp, calculating glint as she watched him. There was something about Eric’s distant gaze that unsettled her. Doubt prickled at her instincts. She couldn’t risk losing her hold on him—not now. And so, as she studied his distracted face, a plan began to form in her mind.
She moved across the room, slow and deliberate, letting the towel slip from her body and pool at her feet. With quiet confidence, Agnes approached Eric, her bare skin catching the dim light.
“What’s on your mind?” She whispered, her breath warm against his ear as her arm slid around his waist, pulling herself closer.
The soft touch snapped Eric out of his thoughts. He turned, catching her hand—and froze, his eyes widening as they took in the sight of her.
Agnes, with her model-perfect curves, full breasts, and toned body, had always known how to tempt him. No matter how often he tried to push her aside, to resist, there was no denying the pull she had over him. She knew it—and so did he.
Eric swallowed hard, his gaze helplessly drawn to her erect nipples.
“Were you thinking about me?” Agnes purred, her fingers slowly tracing the curve of her breast, drawing his attention even deeper — tempting, teasing, and knowing exactly how to seduce him.
His heart might still be tangled with Winter, but when it came to satisfying his needs, being with Agnes had always done the job.
Within seconds, his eyes darkened with hunger. Without a word, he wrapped his arm around her and pulled her roughly against him.
Agnes let out a soft, knowing chuckle, her lips grazing along his neck before she began to nibble, slow and teasing.

“It’s me, isn’t it?” She whispered against his skin.
A low groan rumbled from his throat, the sound thick with pleasure. But even as his hands roamed her body, his mind drifted elsewhere—back to Winter.
Just like the other night, when he’d dreamed of having her beneath him, Eric let the illusion take over. He closed his eyes and gave in, using the moment to ravish Agnes, pretending she was none other than Winter.
“Yes, it’s always you,” he murmured, lowering his lips to her chest and capturing her hardened bud between his mouth.
Agnes tilted her head back, a soft moan slipping past her lips as his tongue worked slow, deliberate circles against her sensitive skin. His hand drifted lower, fingers teasing her soaked folds before pressing against her clit, drawing more desperate sounds from her.
She was easy to use—Eric knew that. Her desire to marry him made her all too willing, and sooner or later, she would bend to his will completely.
Without another thought, he slid two fingers into her, thrusting deep until her body tensed and shuddered around him, her release leaving her breathless.
But as his dark gaze swept over her, another thought consumed him. The humiliation her father had once forced on him resurfaced, sharp and unforgiving. Without a word, he grabbed her, throwing her over his shoulder and striding toward the bed.
He didn’t just want to use her. He wanted to destroy her—and through her, bring her entire family to ruin.
