Chapter 153: Chapter 153: I’m looking for someone
Sean’s grip on her waist tightened as Gina pressed her chest flush against him, their lips moving in a desperate, hungry rhythm that neither of them tried to slow. Every brush, every taste only seemed to deepen the ache that had been building between them for far too long.
She had missed this — the addictive taste of him, the way his kiss could unravel her in seconds. Now that she had him here, trapped beneath her touch, she wasn’t about to hold back. She kissed him like a woman starved, her fingers threading into his hair and tugging him even closer, as if afraid he might vanish if she let go.
Sean’s hands slid from her waist, trailing down her back with a slow, possessive touch before gripping her hips and pulling her firmly against him, letting her feel the full extent of his longing. His lips left hers for a moment, tracing a heated path along her jaw and down to her neck, where he paused — his breath hot and ragged against her skin.
“You drive me insane, Gina,” he murmured against her throat, his voice low and thick with desire. “You always have.”
His words sent a shiver racing down her spine. Gina tilted her head back, giving him more access as his mouth explored the sensitive skin, leaving her breathless with each graze of his lips.
Her fingers fumbled with the buttons of his shirt, needing to feel him, to reassure herself that he was still hers. The moment her palms met his bare skin, his hands cupped her face, pulling her back into another searing kiss, one that made her knees weak and her heart pound wildly.
The world outside that office didn’t exist — not the past, not the mistakes, not the bitter silences. Right now, there was only them, tangled in each other’s arms, lost in a need that neither could deny any longer.
Sean’s hands roamed her body with a mix of familiarity and rediscovered hunger, fingers brushing over every curve as if relearning the shape of her. The moment her hands slid beneath the fabric of his shirt, tracing the hard lines of his chest, his breath hitched — and that alone fueled her need.
He pulled her even closer, their bodies pressed so tightly that not even air could slip between them. Gina’s back arched slightly as his lips found her collarbone, tracing the delicate line of her skin before returning to her mouth, kissing her slower this time — deeper, more deliberate, as if staking his silent claim.
The tension had been simmering for days, weeks, unspoken words and bruised emotions all melting into this one moment. When his hands slid lower, gripping her thighs, lifting her effortlessly until her legs wrapped around his waist, Gina let out a soft gasp against his lips.
Sean walked them blindly across the room, her back pressing against the nearest wall, his body pinning her there, anchoring her. His mouth drifted lower, grazing the sensitive curve of her neck, and she felt the shudder that rippled through him.
“I’ve tried,” he whispered against her skin, his voice strained and full of honesty. “Tried to stay away. Tried to forget. But the moment you walk in, all of that disappears.”
Her fingers slid into his hair, pulling him back just enough so their eyes met — and in that single glance, there was no more doubt, no more walls. Only the raw, unfiltered truth of what they felt for each other.
“Then don’t,” she whispered back, breathless and sincere. “Don’t push me away again.”
Sean answered her without words — only action. His mouth found hers once more, slower now but infinitely more intense, as though he was memorizing the taste of her all over again. His hands moved with the same purpose, exploring, caressing, igniting the spark that had always burned between them.
The office was dim and quiet, but the air around them was thick with heat and unspoken promises. Time faded into irrelevance. At that moment, all that mattered was the two of them — finally surrendering to the connection that neither of them could break, no matter how hard they’d tried.
“Is that so? Then why did you make me feel like I wasn’t needed?” His words hit her like a splash of cold water, halting her in place as she stared at him, her heart aching at the raw honesty in his voice.
“I thought I could wait,” he continued, his tone softer but laced with hurt. “I wanted to give you the time you needed to open up… but seeing you with Niko — it made me feel like I was nothing, like I didn’t matter.”
The confession hung heavy between them, the silence louder than any words. His vulnerability sliced through her, and for the first time, she realized how deeply her distance had wounded him.
Reluctantly, Gina climbed off his lap, her heart weighed down by the weight of Sean’s words. Her eyes refused to meet his, guilt pressing heavily on her chest. She had always believed she could guard her secrets forever, lock them away from the world — but somewhere along the way, Sean had become so important to her that hurting him now made her feel unbearably small.
Sean noticed her hesitation and let out a dry, humorless chuckle.
“I expected too much, didn’t I?” His voice held a quiet resignation, sharp and bitter. “But it’s fine. I’m just a passing fling in your life, right? So I guess—”
“No, you aren’t,” she cut him off, her voice sharp and desperate, stopping him before he could finish.
Sean’s gaze snapped to her, surprise flickering across his features, but what truly stunned him wasn’t her words — it was the look in her eyes. The vulnerability, the raw emotion, the silent plea.
“I’m looking for someone,” she confessed, her voice softer now, laced with an ache that she could no longer hide. “And Niko… he’s just helping me.”
Sean blinked, his surprise deepening for a moment — but then it hit him. No, he wasn’t surprised. Deep down, part of him had always sensed it.
