Chapter 31: Chapter 31: When did you find me
Winter sighed softly as she stood in front of Kalix’s chamber, holding the tray in her hand.
She didn’t let anyone go hungry for her, so when the conversation ended with her taking the initiative, she decided to bring food for Kalix instead.
“You can do it, Winter. It’s only a simple meal tray that he needs to place on the table and then depart.” Winter considered the notion before making up her mind.
After a brief pause, Winter inhaled deeply and extended her hand to tap on the door. It had been a minute since she arrived, and it took her another minute to notice the man open the door for her. And as she waited, her anxiousness increased.
“Why isn’t he saying anything? Did he sleep already?” she wondered, recalling Julian’s previous remarks assuring her of Kalix’s tendency of working late at night.
Standing there, she contemplated whether or not to continue, but her subconscious refused to give up, and she found herself opening the door on her own and stepping inside.
“Un, why is no one here? Did he leave somewhere?” She grumbled as she surveyed the neatly organized room, noticing that not even the bed was in use. However, just as she was about to give up and leave, she heard the sound of the bathroom door clicking, and her eyes darted towards it.
‘And here he comes— the Greek God himself.’
Winter gaped abruptly, put a stop to her pervy thoughts, and turned to depart.
“Where are you going, Angel?” Kalix’s deep voice resonated through the quiet room, and the way he called her Angel caused her body to stop.
As if her mind had become accustomed to the name he had forced on her, she silently turned to face him.
Winter’s eyes searched his toned body. His slightly wet hair and the droplets of water on his skin made him appear appealing. She reminisced about her familiarity with his nude physique, yet her attention shifted to the tattoo adorning his chest for the first time.
‘How come I never spotted that before?’ she wondered, immediately captivated by the design he carved on his chest.
It was nothing but angel wings. It was a concept she could readily identify with.
“That tattoo…what does that mean?” She abruptly inquired, her gaze drawn to his face. She became fascinated, despite the fact that she understood what it meant.
Kalix, on the other hand, was still perplexed by her appearance until his gaze landed on the tray in her hand, which clarified everything.
“It means you,” he added, taking a step closer to her, closing the gap between them.
Winter’s heart pounded, causing her lips to split in shock. She wondered how long he’d had it on, as it appeared to be a little worn and faint.
Suddenly, she found herself in an embarrassing situation, a feeling crawling into her heart, banging on the door, but she hastily shooed it.
“I—I brought food for you. I had no idea you were looking forward to having dinner with us,” she immediately shifted the topic, dismissing the awkward air between them.
Regardless, her gaze remained fixed on the wings on his chest.
“I will eat it only if you feed me.” His words made her look up at his teasing expression. The corner of his lips twisted into a mocking smile, making her lips twitch in annoyance.
“Are you a kid or something? Why should I feed you?” Winter questioned him, evidently not planning to fulfill his request.
She then started to leave after setting the tray on the table, but Kalix stopped her.
“Then I won’t eat anything and will starve all night,” he stated, leaving no room for argument.
Kalix assumed everything the moment he saw her holding the food tray. However, he was still in denial that anyone would contemplate bringing him food, let alone starving.
Winter gave him a disbelieving look, but Kalix simply shrugged and strolled to his walk-in closet to pick out a new pair of clothes.
“I know you’re feeling guilty, but if you really want me to eat the food, feed me,” he added, looking at her.
Winter would have left, but she turned and perched on the edge of the bed when he made her guilt trip. She was rude; her sensitive heart at times would defy her.

“Fine, but Star won’t know about it.” Winter said, “She hates it when I feed anyone but her,” making him laugh.
“Then I’m the exception. I’m sure she won’t be upset because she loves me,” Kalix said as he swiftly slipped into his pants.
He purposely skipped putting on a shirt, knowing how Winter would constantly check on him. The sight of her swooning eyes was fun and he couldn’t miss it.
Kalix then approached the bed and sat down. His eyes caught Winter’s cautionary look. He couldn’t help but taunt her after seeing how her lips parted at the sight of his bare physique.
“Do you want to touch it?”
Winter jolted from her daze and hastily glanced away. Her heart was thumping crazily inside her ribs, so she decided to feed him and leave as quickly as possible.
“Aaa… I am waiting,” Kalix said, opening his mouth. And Winter immediately began feeding him.
She pondered how he found her favorite when she had never informed him, but then something clicked in her head and she inquired.
“When did you find me? I mean, the deal with my grandfather came through me, right?”
Kalix pondered for a second before nodding. “A while back,” he explained, and she narrowed her eyes.
“How long?” she inquired, bringing the food close to his lips.
Winter was intrigued about when he started hunting for her and how he found out about her pregnancy. She had already worked out that the man had a large network, and learning about it was easy. But she still wanted to know how and when he found out she was pregnant and why he hadn’t come seeking them all these years.
Kalix paused for this time, his gaze completely focused on her, taking in the anticipation that eventually made him smile.
“Ever since you left me after that passionate night.”
Embarrassment flushed Winter’s face. She didn’t want to remember how she left him the next morning, like a terrified cat. But his remarks made her feel much worse.
“You knew it all along!” she exclaimed, watching the smile grow on his lips.
