Chapter 47: Chapter 47: I wish to observe you attentively
Dianna’s gaze pierced through Winter, accompanied by her taunting words.
She could sense that others’ impressions of her were far from mere illusion; however, she cared little, as no one truly knew the real her yet.
“Anyway, let’s not waste any more time and get to work,” Dianna stated, bringing the previous discussion to a close. She subsequently gestured towards the shelf.
“Do you see that file?” she asked.”You need to review it and report to me the loss and profit we gain for the last few months.”
Winter acknowledged and was about to get the file. “Also, bring me a cup of coffee,” Diana added, halting Winter in her tracks.
Winter wondered if she was deliberately trying to pick at her; however, her thoughts were interrupted by her following words.
“Please stop staring and focus on your tasks.”
Winter was annoyed by Dianna’s domineering demeanor, but she chose to suppress her pride and pivoted to grab the file and exit the room.
A flicker of malice danced in Dianna’s eyes as she observed the departing figure, a smirk. “Let’s see how long you can withstand these tantrums. I’ll make sure you get weary of everything and resign on your own.
Winter returned to her desk, puzzled about how she was meant to make Dianna’s coffee. Someone who barely heated water was requested to bring a beverage, and it was for her boss.
“Hey, Mia. Do you know how Madam Dianna prefers her coffee?” Winter inquired, resting the file on the table, but the expression she received in response made her worry whether she had asked the wrong person.
“Do you even know what that means, Winter?” Mia gasped, then hurriedly covered her lips and looked around, praying no one noticed and muttered.
“You are on the radar.”
Winter’s brow furrowed as she struggled to understand the sense of her comments. She only needed to respond, but she ended up confounding her more.
Winter chuckled and nodded in agreement. “It’s fine, I’ll get the coffee ready on my own,” she said, swiftly walking toward the eatery.
While Winter was attempting to grasp everything, someone had his gaze fixed on her every movement.
“Did we make the right decision, Boss? Hiring Miss Winter under Miss Dianna’s leadership is nothing short of a work of self-restraint.” Sean expressed his worry, but his boss remained indifferent.
“She needs to learn from this, Sean. I appreciate her for her bravery, but she can be irresponsible at times.” Kalix darted a look at Sean.
“Moreover, I am very curious to know what Dianna is up to,” Sean frowned upon hearing his remarks. Not only Kalix, but also he himself, was curious about Dianna’s intentions towards Winter.
No, she had no idea who she was to him, but if she did, they wanted to see how Winter handled it.
“Let’s return to the main topic.” Kalix spoke, and Sean promptly retrieved a file, placing it in front of him.
“Here is the list of models we finalized,” he said, keeping his gaze fixed on Kalix as he watched him go through the file.
Suddenly, Kalix looked up, a glimmer of skepticism crossing his eyes as he turned the file toward Sean.
“This one.” Sean looked down. “Gina Morus would be our model,” he announced, causing a slight twitch on Sean’s face.
Kalix held onto Sean’s gaze before agreeing. “Alright, boss,” he replied, swiftly excusing himself while making a call to her manager on his way out.

[Celestial Towers]
Gina was sipping her morning coffee when Lily raced towards her, shrieking with delight.
“Gina, we did it!” Gina choked on her coffee, casting an astonished glance at her manager, who couldn’t stop smiling.

“Do you do that again, Lily? I nearly choked!” Gina lost her composure as she attempted to soothe her pounding heart.
After spending an entire week in restlessness, Lily rediscovered her inner strength and now she couldn’t stop celebrating it.
She swiftly took the cup from Gina’s hand and set it aside. Her eyes gleam with happiness as she turns to speak, “Before you choke once again, let me tell you that we finally found our agency.”
Gina’s eyes widened with curiosity as she grasped Lily’s shoulder. “Please tell me you’re not joking,” she said, attempting to reassure herself of her suspicions.
“Tsk, do you really believe I will be playing around with this broad grin? No girl, I truly mean it…we have discovered our place. J&K Internationals has chosen to sign you as their new face.”
Gina’s jaw dropped the moment Lily revealed those words. “What are you saying? I will finally get to meet my dream man!”
Lily’s smile wavered at her friend’s uninspired words.
“Dream man? What are you talking about, Gina?” Lily asked, her brow furrowed in perplexity. She felt like Gina had lost some brain cells out of happiness, but little did she know her friend wasn’t spewing nonsense.
Gina carefully chose her words and smiled widely. “When is the best time for us to schedule the shoot? Is it today or is it now?”
Lily furrowed her brow as she observed Gina behaving strangely. There was something she was trying to hide from her.
“Gina, can I ask you something? Are you genuinely happy, or is there something else on your mind?”
Gina’s smile paused as she blinked at Lily with contemplation. “I am happy,” she said; however, her reaction didn’t seem to convince Lily.
“I sincerely hope that is the case, as my trust in you is currently lacking.” Lily, as Gina’s assistant, was used to her eccentricities and raised an eyebrow in suspicion.
“Are you certain there’s nothing amiss in that head of yours?” she inquired once again.
“Huh, why do you always assume I would create any issues? I have never taken the lead on anything. I am truly pleased that we can finally collaborate,” Gina attempted to convince Lily, who, in some way, began to trust her, but not entirely.
“If that’s what you believe.” However, we must approach this with greater consideration, as we cannot afford any risks this time. “You J&K isn’t just a name; it’s a brand that can elevate your career or leave you in the dust,” Lily cautioned, determined not to make a mistake this time.
She had been attempting to leverage her connections to bring Gina on board, and after a lengthy series of rejections, she ultimately discovered a company that was willing to accept her.

[Eatery]
Winter stared at the coffee machine, her thoughts racing over how she would attempt to brew an excellent coffee. It was challenging to determine one’s preference; nonetheless, she chose to follow her own.
“I just hope she likes it,” she muttered, quickly making her way back to Dianna’s office.
Winter had already perceived Dianna’s dislike for her. Perhaps she attempted to look down on her due to her background. Yet Winter refused to allow her the opportunity to resist.
She was here to work and was determined to prove herself for who she was, rather than for her wealthy family background.
Winter cautiously opened the door after knocking, but to her surprise, Dianna was not there.
“Where did she leave?” she pondered, swiftly approaching her table and setting the cup down with care.
Winter believed she could wait for Diana to arrive; however, she simply couldn’t postpone her work and keep her superior waiting.
Winter quickly left, keeping the coffee, only to discover Diana standing far away. But what really caught her attention was the man she was smiling at.
‘Kalix’
“Is everyone here trying to hit on him?” Winter glanced over, her eyes heavy with contemplation at the sight of the two, and as if he felt her gaze, Kalix quickly turned his eyes toward her.
Disregarding the woman beside him, he swiftly approached her, surprising her entirely.
“What on earth is wrong with him?” she thought, looking around in a frenzy.
“Let’s have lunch together,” Kalix’s deep voice startled her, and she responded with a blank look.
“Winter, have you not begun your work yet?” Winter emerged from her reverie and observed as Diana approached them. Her eyes burned with intensity, as if she were piercing through her very soul.
‘Girl, I did not steal anything from you. Winter uttered these words in her mind, finding herself the object of unwarranted anger.
“Y-yes, Ma’am, I am on my way. I simply came to bring you your coffee.”
Her words surprised Dianna, and she swiftly managed an uncomfortable smile.” What are you saying? When did I ask you to bring the coffee?
Winter’s eyes were wide with surprise as she cast an unbelievable glance at Dianna. She could already perceive Dianna’s intentions, and the moment she directed her gaze at her, everything became evident.
“Well, if you have that coffee, how about you offer it to me? ”
Dianna gaped at Kalix’s unexpected request. She thought of getting rid of Winter, but Kalix’s words stopped her from doing so. She struggled and ultimately found herself unable to refute his argument, so she hastily went to fetch the coffee for him.
Kalix continued to playfully stare at Winter before flashing a wink at her, leaving her stunned.
“Miss Winter, I would like to have a word with you,” Kalix stated as soon as he noticed Dianna and quickly reached to grab the cup from her.
“Please remember to bring the work that Miss Dianna assigned to you. I wish to observe you attentively,” he further added.
Dianna: “…”
Winter: “…”
Kalix turned to leave, but when he noticed Winter still standing in place, he cast her a questioning glance.
“Am I not clear, Miss Winter?” His deep voice jolted her from her stupor, and with a frantic step, she quickly grabbed the file from her desk and followed Kalix to his cabin, leaving Dianna all alone.
A sense of fear grips her heart as she furiously storms back to her room, her eyes growing darker recalling their retreating form.
