Chapter 59: Chapter 59: Who is this woman
[Daisy Dream School]
Inside the principal’s office, a woman in her mid-thirties continued to glare at Seren, her anger intensifying with each passing second before she shifted her gaze back to the man in front of her.
“How can you allow a bully like her to be enrolled in this school, Principal Kane?” Violet Thames, wife of well-known businessman Felix Thames, demanded.
A woman who had always looked down on those beneath her, she now expected an explanation from the principal—whose school was funded by her husband.
Principal Kane fumbled, his eyes meeting Teacher Brooke’s in worry.
“This is not what you think, Mrs. Thames. I believe we should let the girl speak. She, too, deserves the chance to tell her side of the story,” he said.
He knew the girl Violet had taken offense to wasn’t just any student. However, his duty to keep her identity confidential prevented him from revealing anything.
Violet chuckled. “Are you implying that my son is lying, Principal Kane?” she asked, her tone sharp.
Everyone knew her son, Theo, was a troublemaker. There had been numerous complaints about his bullying behavior, but they were always suppressed because of his mother, who refused to believe he could be at fault.
In exchange for their funding, Violet controlled the school, silencing complaints and allowing her son to do as he pleased.
Kane recalled an incident where a teacher was fired over one of Theo’s lies—and never found work again.
Violet enjoyed wielding her power, but this time, the case wasn’t going to be in her favor. The girl she was trying to defy was not just anybody.
“Mrs. Thames, I am sure this is a misunderstanding. Please allow us to check the CCTV cameras around the premises. That way, we can uncover the truth,” Mrs. Brooke suggested.
Violet shot her a mocking look. “I think you’re tired of your job, old lady. You do realize I can have you fired in an instant? Are you seriously trying to tell me what to do?” she yelled, startling everyone in the room.
“Principal Kane, I want this girl expelled from the school immediately. Otherwise, forget about my husband ever funding this institution again!”
Violet’s confidence stemmed from her husband’s recent collaboration with J&K International, bringing them into close circles with the Andreas family—the true owners of the school.
Principal Kane looked at her in concern. No matter what he said, the woman wasn’t willing to listen.
“If you don’t do it, then prepare to lose your job. I’ll have my husband speak to Mr. Andreas about this situation. I will make sure this girl never gets admitted into any school again!”
Violet’s eyes burned with rage. Despite her seething glare, Seren refused to flinch. She knew she wasn’t at fault—she had only defended herself against a boy twice her size.
“I told you—it was Theo who started it first. I only dodged his attack,” Seren stated firmly.
Violet snapped at the girl, but Seren held her ground. Her eyes met hers without a flicker of fear.
“NO, MOM! I DIDN’T DO ANYTHING! SHE WAS THE ONE WHO PUSHED ME!” Theo immediately countered, shifting the blame onto Seren.
“You think I would be hurt if I was the one bullying her?” Theo pointed at his bruised hand, attempting to persuade his mother with his lies.
Violet’s expression softened as she cupped her son’s face. “Oh, my poor baby. I know it’s not your fault. Don’t worry—Mommy will make sure the one who hurt you is punished.”
She then shot a sneering look at both Principal Kane and Teacher Brooke.
“I’m warning you one last time, Principal Kane—either you suspend the girl, or make her rub her nose at my son’s feet and beg for his forgiveness!”
Violet wasn’t going to leave until she had her way. She believed she knew exactly how to deal with insolent children—those who dared to stand against her son just because they were lucky enough to get into a prestigious school.
Suddenly, a knock on the door interrupted their conversation, and moments later, Winter stepped inside.
Her anxious eyes searched for her daughter, and the second she spotted Seren standing next to Teacher Brooke, a wave of relief washed over her.
“Mrs. Thames, this is Miss Winter, Seren’s mother,” Teacher Brooke introduced, prompting Violet to give Winter a slow, scrutinizing look from head to toe.

A mocking chuckle escaped her lips. “You expect me to waste my time talking to her? Is she even worthy of standing in the same room as me?”
Winter’s brows arched at the insult, but instead of responding, she turned to the principal.
“Principal Kane, I’m sure there’s some misunderstanding here,” Winter said, glancing at Theo before shifting her gaze back to the principal.
“My daughter might be rebellious, but she is not a bully. She doesn’t pick unnecessary fights,” she stated firmly, her unwavering confidence in Seren evident.
Violet couldn’t stand Winter’s confidence and snapped. “Like mother, like daughter. How can they lie so effortlessly—”
“Then why don’t you let us prove it?” Winter cut her off, her serious gaze locking onto Violet’s.
“I’m sure the school has surveillance cameras. Let’s check them and put this matter to rest.”
Violet’s lips twitched in irritation. She wanted to punish the girl just for daring to touch her son, but it was her mother’s unshaken confidence that infuriated her even more.
“What is there to confirm? Can’t you see my son’s hand? It’s bruised because your daughter pushed him!” she accused.
“I did not!” Seren yelled from the side, making Violet’s fury rise further.
“You—! I told you not to speak!” she snapped.
Winter’s expression darkened at Violet’s blatant rudeness toward her daughter. Without hesitation, she walked over to Seren and kneeled in front of her.
“Star, what happened?” she asked, looking directly into her daughter’s eyes.
She knew Seren wasn’t one to lie, and when it came to hearing the truth, Winter made sure to listen carefully.
Seren glanced at Mrs. Brooke, who gave her a reassuring nod. “I was heading to the restroom when Theo and his friends started teasing me. They called me fat and all sorts of names. When I ignored them, Theo grabbed my braid,” she explained, pointing at her loosened hair.
“I asked him to let go, but he kept pestering me. Then, he pushed me. I only dodged, and he ended up falling on the floor, yelling and screaming in pain. Mommy, I swear it wasn’t me. He fell on his own!” Seren swore, her innocent eyes pleading for her mother to believe her.
Winter’s expression hardened as she rose to her feet. “Did you hear that?” she said, her voice firm as she turned her brooding gaze toward Violet.
“She’s lying! I know my son would never do such a thing!” Violet refused to back down, hating the fact that she was being challenged.
“Mrs. Thames, I believe the best course of action would be to check the CCTV footage and find out the truth,” Principal Kane, who had been silent until now, finally spoke up.
“No! Either you suspend her, or make both this mother and daughter kneel and rub our feet in apology!” Violet demanded, her piercing eyes locked onto Winter.
Winter could see that Violet was a thick-skinned woman who despised being defied, but that wasn’t her concern.
“We won’t do that,” Winter stated firmly, her unwavering stance making it clear that she wasn’t one to be bullied.
Violet’s face contorted with extreme rage. “So, you’re not going to do anything? Fine! Then I have no choice but to handle this myself!”
She reached into her purse for her phone, fully intending to call her husband. But before she could dial, her phone rang on its own.
Her eyes sparkled with delight, assuming fate was on her side. She quickly answered, pressing the phone to her ear. “Hello, darling, there’s something I need you to—”
Theo smirked, locking eyes with Seren before shifting his gaze back to his mother, already confident in the outcome.
Violet thought she had everything under control—until her husband’s infuriated voice burst through the phone.
Her expression fell instantly. The color drained from her face, and her entire body trembled.
“W-What are you saying, Felix? How can our company go bankrupt? Tell me you’re joking!” she stammered, trying to steady herself.
Her hands clenched around the phone as she listened to his response.
“How could Mr. Andreas do this to us?” she whispered in disbelief.
Her words echoed through the office, drawing curious glances from the others in the room. But when her frantic gaze landed on Winter, all her confidence shattered.
Defeat settled over her like a crushing weight.
‘Who is this woman?’ The question gnawed at her, a tinge of unease creeping into her heart—one that felt dangerously close to fear.
