Chapter 61: Chapter 61:Unless you want to embarrass yourself further?
“You are so bad, Gina! When are you going to stop teasing him?” Winter screeched, taking a sip of her juice.
She had decided to meet Gina at a coffee shop close to their company, and ever since she arrived, Gina had done nothing but talk about Sean.
By now, Winter had already assumed that Sean was Gina’s next target. But deep down, she worried that Gina would take things too far before ultimately breaking his heart.
Gina clicked her tongue, leaning back in her chair with one leg draped over the other leisurely. “He’s irresistible,” she murmured, her mind still lingering on the kiss she shared with him.
“Of course you find him irresistible—he’s handsome,” Winter said matter-of-factly, shrugging.
Gina had always had a thing for charming men. But no matter how long she flirted with them, the second they asked for commitment, she backed away.
“Why do you always take his side? Aren’t you my friend? You should be helping me,” Gina complained.
“You are my friend, and that’s exactly why I’m advising you to stop playing around, Gina. Sean is a nice man, and if you keep flirting with him without any real intention, it’ll only leave him heartbroken in the end.”
Gina rolled her eyes, taking a sip of her lemonade.
“By the way, you never told me what happened at Seren’s school that made you rush out of work,” Gina asked, her tone more serious now.
Winter let out a heavy sigh, her exhaustion evident. “Someone tried to bully Star.”
The moment those words left her mouth, Gina’s expression darkened. She immediately cracked her knuckles, looking ready for a fight.
Winter glanced at her hands and then back at her furious face. “Tell me who it was. I’ll take care of everything,” Gina muttered through gritted teeth.
“You know, you’ve already influenced my daughter too much, and for that, I’m actually grateful,” Winter admitted. “But please, don’t act like a four-year-old in front of me. Be an adult. I already handled everything.”
Winter’s words instantly deflated Gina’s rage.
“How? What did you do? Tell me everything!” Gina demanded, now more eager than ever to hear how Winter tackled the situation.
…
“I still can’t believe she apologized so quickly. I wonder what her husband told her,” Winter muttered, unable to shake off her confusion.
At first, she thought it was Kalix. But if it were him, he would have called her by now—he hadn’t. That only made her more curious about who had stepped in.
“He probably realized how insufferable his wife is,” Gina remarked, pulling Winter out of her thoughts.
“Anyway, now that I’m part of your company, I expect to see you more often.”
Winter nodded. “At least I won’t feel out of place anymore.”
They continued chatting for a while before deciding to leave—until, suddenly—
“Ah!”
Winter gasped as a splash of cold water hit her, drenching her instantly. Shocked, she looked up, only for her confusion to disappear in an instant.
Standing in front of her, seething with rage, was Agnes.
“You bitch! How dare you threaten my dad like that?” Agnes yelled, seizing the attention of everyone in the café.
Gina immediately took note of how loud Agnes was, realizing that they were already drawing too much attention.
It didn’t take long for Winter to piece together why Agnes was here.
Agnes must have found out about her working at J&K International through Eric—and now she had come looking for trouble.

She was already furious about her father being removed from his chairman position. But what enraged her more was realizing that because of Winter, Eric had lost his chance to become CEO.
And now, she was here to make her pay.
Agnes was about to lunge at Winter when Gina, without hesitation, snatched a coffee cup from a passing waiter and hurled it straight into her face.
“Ah!” Agnes staggered back, gasping as the hot liquid splattered across her face and clothes.
A stunned silence fell over the café.
“How dare you!” Agnes screeched, furiously wiping her face as she glared at Gina.
“Oops. My bad,” Gina said, her tone dripping with insincerity, making it painfully obvious that she couldn’t care less.
Agnes’ fury only intensified. She had come here to humiliate Winter, to put her in her place for the damage she had caused to her family. But Gina’s presence had completely derailed her plan.
“You bitch! Are you trying to mess with me?” Agnes hissed, her seething glare locked onto Gina.
Gina smirked, folding her arms over her chest. “I already did. What are you going to do now? Bribe my agency the way you did my last one?”
Winter’s eyes widened slightly, but she stayed silent, watching the exchange unfold.
Agnes scoffed, her lips curling into a condescending smirk. “You know I can crush your career with a snap of my fingers. Watch your mouth, or I’ll make sure you have nothing left.”
Gina let out a dry laugh, shaking her head. “Cute threats, Agnes. But I’m not like Winter—I don’t have anything to lose. So go ahead. Try me.”
For a brief second, something flickered in Agnes’ eyes—hesitation, uncertainty. But it was gone just as fast as it came.
Winter, who had been quietly observing, finally stepped forward, her voice calm but firm. “If you’re done making a scene, I suggest you leave. Unless you want to embarrass yourself further?”
Agnes clenched her fists, seething, but she knew she had lost this round. With a final glare at both women, she turned on her heel and stormed out, her ruined appearance drawing amused whispers from the other customers.
Gina exhaled dramatically, watching Agnes’ retreating form. “That was fun.”
Winter shook her head, suppressing a smile. “You’re impossible.”
“And you love me for it,” Gina said with a wink before casually grabbing a napkin to wipe her hands.
Winter sighed, finally taking a deep breath. Something told her this wasn’t the last time Agnes would try to start trouble.
And next time, she might not walk away so easily.
Agnes stormed out of the café, her heels clicking furiously against the pavement. Rage boiled inside her—there was no way she would forget what Winter and Gina had done.
However, just as she reached her car, her phone rang, stopping her in her tracks.
She frowned, staring at the unfamiliar number flashing across the screen. For a moment, she hesitated, her fingers twitching over the screen. Should she answer it?
After a few seconds of indecision, she exhaled sharply and swiped to accept the call.
Her expression shifted the moment she heard the voice on the other end. Her brows furrowed, irritation giving way to something far more serious.
Without another word, she yanked open the car door, slid inside, and sped off, her earlier fury momentarily forgotten.
Something about this call was far more urgent.
