Chapter 94: Chapter 94: I agree
Winter knew that no matter how much she tried to brush it off, Kalix would eventually find out.
Taking a deep breath, she composed herself and met his gaze.
“First, promise me you won’t react right away,” she asked cautiously, her voice steady despite the tension crackling between them.
Kalix’s jaw tightened, his eyes dark with fury. “Depends on who it is,” he gritted out, his tone leaving no room for negotiation.
Winter swallowed hard. His response only made her pulse quicken, the pressure in her chest mounting.
“Fine. If you won’t tell me, I’ll find out myself,” Kalix said, his voice low and lethal.
Winter’s eyes widened in shock. The second he reached for his phone, panic surged through her, and she blurted out, “It’s Eric. He tried to block my way.”
Kalix’s grip on his phone tightened, his expression darkening into something even more terrifying. The sheer intensity of his rage sent a shiver down Winter’s spine. Before she could watch him lose control, she dropped everything and wrapped her arms around him.
Kalix stiffened, caught off guard. But the tension in his body didn’t waver—he was just as furious as he had been before she hesitated to speak.
Winter, on the other hand, felt as if she were being burned by an invisible force radiating from him. He was like a loaded cannon, ready to fire at any moment. And before he reached his breaking point, she wanted to stop it.
“Please, don’t get upset,” she whispered softly in his ear.
She had never been this scared before, but seeing Kalix’s body tremble with seething rage made her drop all defenses.
Everything had been fine when he was teasing and joking, but the second he snapped, something inside her recoiled in fear.
“Just relax, okay? There’s nothing to react to,” she continued whispering, her voice a silent plea.
Kalix had the capacity to snap, and when he did, the consequences were often unpredictable—even to himself. But as Winter’s words wrapped around him, that soft, soothing voice worked like a spell, easing the storm within him.
There was something magical about her voice, about the way she held him with everything she had. No one had ever tried to tame the beast inside him the way she did. And just like that—like flipping a switch—his anger dissipated.
Kalix sat still, allowing her to hold onto him, letting her presence calm him. It was a feeling he couldn’t quite describe, something unfamiliar yet strangely grounding.
“I won’t,” he suddenly murmured.
Winter pulled back, searching his face. His eyes, though still shadowed, had lost their earlier fury.
“But…” Kalix’s lips curled into a playful smirk. “If you kiss me and make it up to me, I promise I won’t let my anger get the best of me anymore.”
Winter blinked at him, startled. Though his smile didn’t fully reach his eyes, his cheeky remark still managed to make her feel lighter.
Keeping his gaze locked on hers, Kalix reached for the loose strand of hair framing her face and gently tucked it behind her ear. His fingers lingered before slowly cupping her cheek, his thumb brushing over her soft skin.
The warmth of his touch sent a shiver down Winter’s spine, making her feel wanted in a way she hadn’t expected. And the moment she saw the burning flames of desire in his eyes, she dropped her restraint and pulled him in for a kiss.
Winter knew she was drawn to Kalix—not just for the kisses they shared, not for how handsome or cocky he was, but for the man he was trying to become for her.
Someone raised in violence didn’t change easily. But the day he told her he wanted to be better—for her and their daughter—she knew she could trust him.
Parting her lips, she kissed him deeply, letting passion guide her as she slowly crawled onto his lap.
Kalix’s arms wrapped around her waist, holding her firmly against him. Without breaking the kiss, he reached for the partition button between the front and back seat, shielding them from prying eyes.
Kalix wouldn’t have minded being shameless, but knowing how easily Winter embarrassed, he drew the line—for her sake.
Winter shivered, pressing herself closer as she kissed him harder. Her fingers tangled in his hair, gripping a handful and tugging just enough to earn a low, rumbling groan from him.
She had been so determined to ask about Diana—about why she had been in his office, what they had talked about—but all those thoughts vanished the second Kalix kissed her back with the same desperate hunger.

She could lose herself in him, in the heat between them, a hundred times over. But even she knew… it would never be enough.
“You’re making me needy, Angel,” Kalix muttered between their heated kisses, his voice rough with desire.
Winter froze for a moment, her breath hitching as she met his gaze. Those green eyes—intense, pleading—were her undoing. The way they silently begged for more made her realize just how deeply she was falling.
Her fingers trailed down his chest, reaching for his belt. But just as she was about to unbuckle it, hesitation washed over her, a flicker of doubt surfacing.
It was brief, barely a second, but Kalix felt it. Even though he said nothing, she knew.
He was a man, after all, and no matter how much he tried to contain it, she could sense his longing. His need.
And in that moment, she understood…this wasn’t just about desire. It was about trust, about giving in completely.
Brushing aside her hesitation, Winter made her choice.
She was all in—for him, for this. To see where their relationship would lead.
Winter didn’t want to hesitate anymore. She wanted to take a chance, to truly know Kalix—not as the ruthless man the world saw, but as the man who promised to be better for her. She needed to believe he wasn’t there to break her heart or make her feel unwanted.
She wanted to step into a role she once thought she could never take again.
“I agree,” she said suddenly, her voice steady despite the rapid rise and fall of her breathing.
Kalix frowned, confusion flickering across his features. But before he could question her, she leaned in, pressing a soft kiss against his lips—brief, yet reassuring.
“I agree to date you,” she declared, pulling back.
Kalix stared at her, stunned. His heart pounded at the weight of her words, but what truly caught him off guard was how sincere she looked. There was no hesitation, no reluctance. Only certainty.
Winter frowned when he didn’t respond.
“Say something, Kalix!” she huffed, smacking his shoulder. His silence weighed on her, making her wonder if she’d just made a fool of herself.
But before doubt could settle, Kalix grabbed the nape of her neck and sealed his lips over hers, kissing her with an intensity that left her breathless.
“Let’s go in,” he murmured against her lips, sealing the deal—this time for real.
No restraint. No hesitation. Just them, taking the first step toward understanding each other and whatever the future had in store.

Eric finally reached his apartment, only to be met with an unexpected sight—Agnes waiting for him.
“Where did you go?” she demanded the moment he stepped inside.
His grip on the door handle tightened, his expression darkening.
He was already furious after her phone call had interrupted his moment with Winter, and now this.
Agnes hovering over his life like a plague was wearing his patience thin, but it was her audacity to keep controlling him that was truly making him lose his mind.
“Haven’t I told you before? Why do you keep asking the same damn thing?” Eric snapped, his sharp tone making Agnes flinch.
She had been livid ever since Diana sent her that photo—Eric with Winter. But hearing him lie to her face? That was the final straw.
“Don’t lie to me, Eric!” she hissed, storming toward him.
For a long time, Agnes had trusted him. But the second she realized he was lying, something inside her ignited.
Agnes didn’t know how Eric had met Winter or what he was doing there. But the mere thought of him still chasing after her despite knowing how much her very existence unsettled her—was infuriating.
Eric was taken aback by Agnes’s refusal to back down. But then, something clicked in his mind, and his expression twisted into something even uglier.
In the next second, he grabbed her arm and yanked her closer, his eyes boring into hers with a dark intensity that sent a shiver down her spine.
“You don’t listen, Agnes. How many times do I have to tell you to stop monitoring me?” he growled, his grip tightening.
Agnes winced in pain. “Eric, let me go. You’re hurting me,” she gasped, struggling against his hold. But the animosity in his aura didn’t waver.
“You know what, Agnes?” His voice dropped lower, more dangerous, making her shudder.
“I was going to marry you.”
Agnes froze, his words hitting her like a slap. Before she could process what he’d just said, he shoved her away.
“But now, I refuse.”
Her face turned ghostly pale, all her anger forgotten in an instant.
Eric had always had Agnes wrapped around his finger. Manipulating her wasn’t even a challenge. One simple threat and she was crumbling.
“N-No, Eric… you can’t do this to me,” she whispered, her voice shaking as she reached out to him.
“I have had enough of you Agnes. You should’ve known I can never betray you and meeting Winter was just a coincidence. Yet you question me and now I am done, with you… and this constant controlling”
