Chapter 96: Chapter 96: Touch me…please
“Are you sure we haven’t met before?” she suddenly asked, pulling herself away. Her eyes bored into his, searching for something she couldn’t quite grasp.
Kalix tilted his head, the curiosity on her face making it difficult for him to stay composed.
“What do you think?” he asked, leaning closer. His eyes were playful yet calm.
Winter had moments when Kalix felt far too familiar, like a presence that lingered not just from the night they first met but from a time she couldn’t seem to recall.
“How did you fall for me?” she asked, suddenly piqued by her own curiosity.
She had always assumed his love for her developed after their first night together, that the process of searching for her, getting to know her, had built his feelings until they became so intense that he watched over her from afar.
But now, thinking back, it felt as if it had started even earlier. There was an understanding in him, an unspoken knowledge of her that even she couldn’t remember.
“Would you believe me if I told you I purposely approached you at the bar that night?”
Winter’s eyes widened in shock as she turned to face him fully.
“You were stalking me this whole time!”
A sense of betrayal flashed through her eyes. His words left her numb, rendering her unable to comprehend anything for a moment.
Kalix had thought of keeping this revelation for another day, but he knew that, sooner or later, he would have to tell her the truth.
“I don’t know if you remember,” he said, his voice steady, “but one night, you saved a life. And that person became devoted to you forever.”
Winter’s eyes widened in surprise. Her gaze flickered as she searched her memories, and then…something familiar surfaced in her mind.
“T-That boy… the one covered in blood. Was it you?” Her voice trembled as the image from that night flashed before her.
Kalix nodded without hesitation, leaving her speechless.
After leaving the Greyson mansion, Winter had started living on her own. She rented a small apartment and took on multiple part-time jobs just to make ends meet. One of those jobs was as a delivery girl.
It was on one of those nights, while returning to the shop after delivering a food package, that she had come across a man who unexpectedly stumbled in front of her bike.
Winter had never regretted taking shortcuts, until that night. The man refused to let her go, clinging to her presence until he collapsed unconscious before her.
Fear gripped her as she took in the scene. Something was terribly wrong. His entire body was covered in blood, and if that wasn’t alarming enough, she noticed the gunshot wound in his stomach.
She knew he was on the brink of death, but she couldn’t bring herself to walk away.
She remembered how difficult it had been to lift him onto her bike and rush him to the hospital, desperate to save his life.
But never…never in her wildest dreams had she imagined that the man she had saved in such a harrowing way would turn out to be Kalix.
Her eyes widened as realization dawned on her. She looked at him in shock.
“Those green eyes of yours… no wonder they felt so familiar,” she murmured in disbelief.
The man who had stared at her that night with those deep, captivating eyes had left an imprint in her mind, the one she had never been able to forget.
“You’ve intrigued me since that moment, Angel,” Kalix murmured, cupping her face and pulling her from her trance.
Winter’s heart pounded as realization sank in. Her eyelashes fluttered when he slowly leaned in, his warmth wrapping around her like an unspoken promise.
“You were an angel sent by the gods to save me that night,” he continued, his voice softer now. “But unfortunately, that angel left before I could even thank her.”
Winter’s lips quivered under the intensity of his gaze. A warmth spread through her chest, filling her with an overwhelming sensation she couldn’t name.

For the first time, she had no words to speak, no arguments to throw back at him. He silenced them all with his unwavering admiration, an emotion deeper than anything she had ever known.
Love had always been a foreign concept to her. Until Kalix.
He had walked into her life and rewritten everything she thought she knew about it.
Winter found herself drowning in his gaze, yet she wasn’t afraid. If anything, it felt natural—like her subconscious had already known him, had always been familiar with him.
Maybe that was why she had never truly resisted when he claimed to love her.
She had mistaken it for hesitation. But now, it consumed her, filling her with an emotion so powerful that, for the first time, she felt as if she were on top of the world.
On top of Kalix’s world.
“You were mine the second I laid eyes on you,” Kalix murmured, tracing his thumb over her luscious lips.
Winter closed her eyes, savoring the warmth of his touch before he finally kissed her.
It was just a peck, barely enough to satisfy her. Annoyance flickered in her eyes as her brows drew together.
She wasn’t in the mood to play this time. She refused to be left hanging just because he found it amusing.
Unable to resist, she crawled onto his lap, wrapping her arms around his neck.
“You’re making me needy, Kalix,” she whispered.
His lips curled into the most seductive smile, a look that shattered the last of her restraint. Without hesitation, she claimed his lips, kissing him without warning.
Winter devoured him, yet it still wasn’t enough. Desire clawed at her, insatiable.
“Your room,” she demanded breathlessly.
Without hesitation, Kalix lifted her into his arms, compelled by the urgency in her voice.
As soon as he placed her on the bed, Winter pulled him down with her, and he quickly hovered over her, claiming her lips in a hungry kiss. His hands roamed over her curves, his touch both possessive and reverent, while his mouth devoured her like the sweetest temptation.
She was irresistible; he had always known that. But he had always wanted her to take the first step and everytime she did, he found himself walking on the edge.
But now, nothing seemed to be stopping them. She had finally given in. As much as he wanted her, she desired him just as fiercely.
Their tongues tangled in a heated dance, tasting each other like the sweetest indulgence. Winter’s hands reached for the hem of his shirt, desperate to feel his skin against hers.
The moment he tossed it aside, she traced her fingers over his toned muscles, relishing the way they tensed beneath her touch.
Kalix cupped her breast, kneading it gently, drawing a muffled moan from her lips. He released her mouth only to trail hot, lingering kisses down her jaw and neck, leaving a path of fire in his wake.
An overwhelming sensation coursed through Winter’s body, her lower abdomen tightening with need.
“Touch me… please,” she whispered, her voice laced with desperation.
Kalix slowly released her breast, his hand gliding down her body, slipping beneath the waistband of her shorts and pausing just at the edge of where she ached for his touch.
He pulled back slightly, his eyes dark with hunger.
“Are you sure?” he asked, his voice thick with restraint as his fingers teased her, sending shivers through her body.
“More than sure,” she moaned, pulling him into a fervent kiss.
A deep growl rumbled in his chest as he continued, his touch creating a slow, intoxicating rhythm that left her breathless. She was already lost in the sensation, her body responding to him in ways she couldn’t control.
While his mouth claimed hers, his fingers slipped lower, coaxing more pleasure from her.
“Umm…”
Her soft moan was like fuel to a fire he had kept restrained for too long.
He had dreamed of this moment, of having her beneath him, unraveling at his touch. And now, with her in his arms, surrendering completely, he knew there was no turning back.
Kalix moved his fingers in a slow, deliberate rhythm, creating a friction that left them both overwhelmed. The sound of her moans filled the room like a melody he never wanted to end. Intoxicating, consuming.
It was just like that night, the first time he had touched her, realizing he was the only man who had ever had her this way. Even then, despite the haze of alcohol, Winter had known exactly what she was doing. And he had made sure to leave an impression on her, one she would never forget.
“Come for me, Angel,” he murmured against her lips, his voice thick with desire.
Winter teetered on the edge, a strange yet familiar sensation coiling tightly in the pit of her stomach.
Kalix’s fingers moved with deliberate precision, pushing her closer, until the tension snapped. A wave of pleasure crashed over her, leaving her breathless as she unraveled beneath his touch, the remnants of his skilled foreplay lingering on her skin.
