- Chapter 113 - Chapter 113 I Trust You
Chapter 113: I Trust You Chapter 113: I Trust You Selina raised an eyebrow, thoroughly enjoying the spectacle.
Butler Lee was utterly stunned, staring at Katie in disbelief.
“Madam, I’ve been loyal to you!
How could you-” “Shut up!
I clearly misjudged you!” Katie snapped viciously at the guards.
“What are you waiting for?
Drag him out of here!” In that instant, Butler Lee realized he had been abandoned.
A wave of bitter resentment surged through him-after everything he had done for Katie, how could she discard him like trash?!
His rage exploded as he struggled against the guards.
“You wretched bitch!
I was taking the fall for you, and you’re throwing me away like a useless pawn?!
It was you who destroyed Mrs.
Adams’ designs!
You and Natalia, you filthy-Ah!” Before he could finish, Natalia’s face twisted in horror.
She couldn’t let him keep talking.
In a flash, she grabbed a fruit knife and stabbed it straight into Butler Lee’s shoulder.
“The Clark Family treated you well, and this is how you repay us?
Get out!” Selina clicked her tongue, unimpressed.
“Wow, Natalia, that’s ruthless.
He practically raised you, and you didn’t even hesitate.” Katie’s expression was dark and unreadable.
“Butler Lee admitted his crime.
Are you satisfied now?” Selina simply turned, tugging Logan along as they left.
“Mr.
Clark,” she called back casually, “you should keep an eye on your wife.
Before she brings even greater disaster upon you.” As Selina walked away, Katie’s temper finally snapped.
“You filthy little bitch!
Worthless mutt!
What a curse you are-why does the Clark Family have to suffer this disgrace-Ah!
James, you hit me!” Slap!
A loud, resounding slap landed across Katie’s face, stunning everyone into silence.

James’s eyes were bloodshot, his voice shaking with fury.
“Who gave you permission to destroy Victoria’s designs?!
Didn’t I make it clear that her things were off limits?!” Katie, now flustered, tried to explain, “I… James, listen to me!
Destroying those designs was the safest option.
Otherwise, the Carter Family wouldn’t let it go.
You know how important they were to them!
I did this for you-” “For me?
Or because of your own jealousy?
Don’t insult my intelligence!” James shot her a venomous glare before storming out in rage.
Grandpa Clark watched everything unfold, exhaustion lining his features.
How had things come to this?
Years ago, before Katie arrived, his son had been respectful, his daughter-in-law was intelligent, and little Selina had been a sweet, well-behaved child.
The family had been whole.
But now… Now, everything was ruined.
And there was no going back.
His eyes followed Selina’s retreating figure, and with a deep sigh, he hurried after her.
…
“Selina, wait!” Selina turned her head slightly, raising an eyebrow.
“Something you need, Grandpa?” Grandpa Clark cleared his throat awkwardly.
“Would it be possible for Mr.
Reid to step aside for a moment?” Logan’s expression remained utterly indifferent.
“Selina is my wife.
What could you possibly want to say that I can’t hear?” Grandpa Clark’s face twitched.
Having no other choice, he turned back to Selina.
“Selina, I heard about what happened at the bridal boutique.
Natalia and Ryan’s wedding is already set in stone.
No matter what, she is still your sister.
Can’t you do her a favor and apologize to Mr.
Turner on her behalf?” Selina raised an unimpressed brow.
“Natalia offended Kevin herself.
He doesn’t want to forgive her.
Why should I apologize?
Do I owe her something?” Grandpa Clark’s expression darkened.
“You and Kevin are friends.
Can’t you be the bigger person?” Selina laughed lightly.
“I know Kevin, but why should my connections be wasted on an illegitimate daughter?” Grandpa Clark’s face hardened.
“Selina!
Old Mr.
Carter has never liked Natalia.
At least with Kevin’s wedding dress, she’ll have a little more dignity when she marries into the Carter Family-” Selina cut him off with a casual wave of her hand.
“If she’s so worried about being mistreated in the Carter Family, why not just break off the engagement?” Grandpa Clark stiffened.
“What nonsense are you talking about?
Natalia and Ryan’s engagement is already public knowledge!
Do you want the whole world to laugh at us?!
You are family-” “Grandpa, I’m really curious-what exactly does Ryan see in Natalia?” Selina suddenly turned, her sharp gaze locking onto Grandpa Clark.
“Grandpa Carter threatened him with shares, yet he still refused to give in.
The esteemed eldest son of the Carter Family, willing to abandon his inheritance for a woman?
Does that sound realistic?
Or… could it be that Ryan is after something within the Clark Family?
Something that makes marrying Natalia necessary?” Grandpa Clark’s heart skipped a beat.
“Selina, what nonsense are you talking about?
Ryan simply loves Natalia too much.” “Oh?
Is that so?” His expression shifted slightly.
“Selina, if you don’t want to help, just go home with Mr.
Reid.
There’s no need to stir up trouble.” Selina casually tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, her demeanor calm.
“No need to see me out, Grandpa.” With that, she turned and walked toward Logan’s car.
The man cast a lingering glance at Grandpa Clark, his gaze unreadable, before opening the door for her.
“Feeling upset about Grandpa’s favoritism?” he asked.
Selina blinked.
“Not at all.
I just find it strange.” “Strange?” She nodded.
Yes, very strange.
Had her mother really not known the true nature of the Clark Family?
The design drafts were destroyed by Katie, but would she have dared to do it without James’s tacit approval?
Why had her mother married such a cowardly, selfish, and irresponsible man like James?
Logan didn’t press further.
Instead, his gaze shifted to the damaged design portfolio resting beside them.
“Mrs.
Reid, if you trust me, why don’t you let me handle the designs?
I’ll find a way to restore them.” Selina’s head snapped up in surprise.
“They’re this damaged… and you can still restore them?” Logan chuckled lightly.
“Mrs.
Reid, I believe your mother was a smart woman.
If she had the courage to leave behind these designs, she must have prepared for every possible outcome-including the chance that Katie might destroy them.” Selina’s breath hitched.
Logan’s voice remained steady.
“If she dared to leave them behind, she must have had a way to restore them.” Victoria was not an ordinary woman.
Why had she married James?
Perhaps she had been forced into it, but even if she had found herself in a desperate situation, she would have left herself a way out.
Logan ran his fingers over the ink-stained pages before looking at her again.
“Do you trust me?” Selina’s heart pounded in her chest.
She took a shaky breath before softly whispering- “I trust you.” …
Two days later, at Grandma Perry’s birthday banquet.
Selina carried Gordon’s painting, following Logan into the Perry Family estate.
She suddenly noticed something and stopped in surprise.
“You brought my mother’s designs too?” Logan’s long fingers lightly tapped against the portfolio.
“Grandma has a deeper knowledge of restoration than I do.
I thought I’d let her take a look.” Selina blinked, slightly stunned.
She hadn’t expected Logan to take this so seriously.
Just as she was about to speak, a shrill, delighted voice suddenly rang in her ears.
“Logan!” A flash of color darted toward them-Vivian, as dazzling as a butterfly, threw herself at Logan’s side.
She shot Selina a disdainful look before shamelessly looping her arm around Logan’s.
Logan immediately stepped back.
His voice was indifferent.
“What do you want?” Vivian pouted.
“Logan, do I need a reason to come find you?
I’m your sister, after all!” Behind her, several guests who had come to attend the banquet began murmuring in admiration.
“Miss Perry is so innocent and charming.
Mr.
Reid is truly lucky to have such a wonderful younger sister.” Selina let out a sharp, mocking laugh.
Sister?
