Chapter 132: What Is He Doing Here?
Chapter 132: What Is He Doing Here?
“I never judge people by appearances.” Logan’s voice was indifferent, chilling to the bone.
“Besides, even with that scar, my Mrs.
Reid is still a stunning beauty-unlike Miss Natalia.” Selina blinked.
Was Logan… comforting her?
Honestly, she hadn’t thought about the scar on her neck in a long time.
Back when she was with Ryan, he always looked at it with disgust, which made her self-conscious.
But Logan… acted like it didn’t even exist.
She didn’t feel insecure about it anymore.
Still, if it could make Natalia miserable, she might as well play along.
Selina immediately wrapped her arm around Logan’s and whined sweetly, “Sister, even though my scar is ugly, my temper is terrible, I’m spoiled, and I can’t handle hardship, Logan still likes me!
What can I do?
I guess it’s just personal charm!” She fluttered her lashes and smiled innocently.
“So, sister, can you call me Mrs.
Reid now?” Natalia’s breathing became erratic.
The last traces of color drained from her face.
Damn it.
Damn it!
What exactly did Logan see in Selina?!
A man like Logan should belong to me!
But if she refused to call Selina “Mrs.
Reid” now, it would be too obvious… “…Mrs.
Reid.” Natalia gritted her teeth, forcing out the words like they physically hurt her.
Tears welled up in her eyes.
“I’m sorry, sister… I was just looking out for you.
I didn’t mean to upset you…” Selina raised an eyebrow and let out a mocking laugh.
Natalia’s old trick-crying her way out of trouble-again.
Logan’s gaze darkened.
“Jack, see her out.” “Wait, sister!” Natalia suddenly raised her voice, crying dramatically for everyone to hear.

“I know you don’t like me, but our parents’ 20th wedding anniversary is coming up soon… You will be attending, won’t you?” Selina’s expression turned ice-cold.
Natalia lowered her head, feigning humility.
“No matter what, he’s still your father.
It’s a special occasion-” “Sure.” Selina cut her off.
Natalia’s smile stiffened.
Selina chuckled.
Oh, so she’s trying to use public pressure against me?
If Selina agreed, she’d be forced into an unpleasant situation.
If she refused, Natalia could easily paint her as an ungrateful, disrespectful daughter.
So Selina casually ran a hand through her hair.
“I said sure.
Don’t worry, sister-I’ll be there for the anniversary.” Natalia’s forced smile looked worse than crying.
“Y-you will?” “Of course, sister.” Selina leaned in, lowering her voice to a whisper meant for Natalia alone.
“The mistress and her husband’s anniversary, and they actually had the nerve to invite the first wife’s daughter?
You really think I don’t know what you two are up to?” She smirked.
“Go back and tell Katie that if she wants me to show up, fine.
But you and your mistress mother better be prepared.” Natalia nearly choked in fury.
“You-you-” Selina waved dismissively.
“Assistant Cole, show her out.” Jack swiftly escorted Natalia out.
Soon, only Selina and Logan remained.
Logan’s lips curled into a smirk, his tone laced with amusement.
“Mrs.
Reid is quite formidable.” How could a woman like this have ever been bullied by the Clark Family?
Selina blinked innocently.
“Mr.
Reid, what do you mean?
I wasn’t being formidable.
I was simply borrowing your power, acting tough while leaning on the real tiger.” Logan’s gaze darkened slightly, but he didn’t respond.
Just then- Grrr… A stomach growl broke the silence.
Selina froze.
A second later, her face flushed red as she realized the sound came from her.
Logan’s eyes glinted with amusement.
“Looks like Mrs.
Reid is hungry.” He extended his hand toward her.
“Let’s go.” “G-go where?” “You’re hungry,” he said smoothly.
“Naturally, I’ll accompany you to dinner.” The dim light cast a soft glow over Logan’s figure, making him seem almost otherworldly.
Selina felt herself momentarily spellbound.
Without thinking, she took his hand and got into the car.
Logan drove, taking several unexpected turns before pulling into a narrow, inconspicuous alley.
Selina was puzzled.
“Where are we eating?” The man replied nonchalantly, “Obsidian Dining.” Selina immediately put down her phone, swallowing hard.
“The Obsidian Dining?
The one that only serves one table a day and opens whenever it feels like it?
There’s no way we’re getting in this late.” Logan let out a low chuckle.
Selina immediately understood.
If anyone else said they were going to Obsidian Dining at this hour, they’d be ridiculed for being naive.
But this was Logan.
Even if it were the middle of the night, the chef at Obsidian Dining would still show up to cook for him.
The place was a secluded, tranquil courtyard.
As Logan parked the car, Selina glanced around and immediately raised an eyebrow.
“Looks like there are other guests here.” Didn’t they say only one table per day?
Were today’s diners all high-profile figures?
Logan didn’t even look.
“Ignore it.” Selina thought about it.
City A certainly isn’t lacking in powerful figures.
Maybe someone had come that even Obsidian Dining couldn’t afford to offend.
After being seated in a private dining room, Logan’s gaze lingered on the scar on Selina’s neck.
It was becoming an eyesore.
His fingers idly tapped against the table before he asked casually, “Do you want to get rid of that scar?” Selina lowered her eyes, hesitated for a moment, then nodded.
“Yes.” Logan’s fingers paused slightly.
Last time he had asked, she had refused.
Why the sudden change of heart?
Selina, as if unconcerned, shrugged.
“People always have to move forward, right?” Logan smirked faintly.
A thought crossed his mind.
“When did you get that scar?” Selina was caught off guard by the question.
She thought for a moment.
“I don’t remember exactly… Maybe ten years ago?
Or eleven?” Logan narrowed his eyes.
That long ago?
Four years ago, a girl had saved his life-and he distinctly remembered she had a scar on her neck.
Mrs.
Reid had been in City H four years ago.
She felt so familiar to him.
Yet, she didn’t remember him at all.
And this scar… wasn’t from four years ago.
Had he been wrong?
Selina was intrigued by Obsidian Dining, but as soon as the first dish arrived, she frowned.
“Why do I feel like I’ve had this before?” Logan raised an eyebrow.
“The chef at Obsidian Dining never cooks anywhere else.
Have you been here before?” “No,” Selina answered, puzzled.
“I’ve always heard reservations were impossible, so I never even tried.
But I know I’ve tasted this before.
Even the atmosphere feels familiar…” Why did it feel so familiar?
Had she been here before but forgotten about it?
Just like how everyone claimed she had participated in the piano competition in City H, yet she had no memory of it at all… A sudden knock at the door interrupted her thoughts.
“Logan, what a coincidence.
You’re here too.” Selina froze for a moment and looked toward the doorway.
A man stood outside, holding a wine glass, his demeanor warm and relaxed.
The moment their eyes met, Selina recognized him instantly.
It’s him!
The kind stranger who had handed her an umbrella at the mall that day!
What was his name again…?
“Jacob.” Logan’s eyes narrowed slightly, his tone instantly turning icy.
“What do you want?” Jacob smiled faintly, his gaze settling meaningfully on Selina.
“I heard that Miss Clark has some connections with the Carter Family,” he said smoothly.
“I want to know.”
