Chapter 180: Spanking
The entire tenth floor was silent—there was no one there.
Located in the heart of the city, every floor of Reid Group maximized its value.
Yet, the tenth floor had no offices, no employees. Instead, it had been transformed into a private garden.
She felt as if she had stepped into a sea of roses, their fragrance overwhelming her senses. As Selina followed the path forward, she suddenly stopped in her tracks, as if struck awake by a blow to the head.
—In front of her stood an arched window, distinct from the expansive floor-to-ceiling windows on other floors. This window had a wooden frame, exuding a fresh and artistic charm. On its narrow, twenty-centimeter-wide sill sat a delicate vase.
Selina stared blankly at the scene before her, and then, a sudden realization hit her—the words from that note flashed through her mind:
“I’ll think about it. If I agree, I’ll put a rose in the vase by the window on the tenth floor.”
So… this was that window?
A bit dazed, she pushed the window open and glanced down. Her mind seemed to slip into a trance, drawing her forward—
“Selina!”
A voice snapped her out of it, and in the next second, she felt her world spin as a jolt ran through her body!
She hadn’t even realized that she had leaned too far out the window—almost falling!
“Mrs. Reid, do you have any idea how dangerous that was?”
Smack! The sharp sound pulled Selina’s thoughts back into place.
She froze for two seconds, her face instantly flushing red, her eyes widening in shock.

“You—you—”
He had just… just spanked her!
Humiliation surged through her, and only then did she realize she was being held in his arms. The man’s large hand rested on her lower back before delivering another light slap.
“I told you to explore, not to jump.”
Selina’s face burned. “I wasn’t!”
“Oh? Then what exactly was Mrs. Reid doing just now?”
Logan hadn’t intended to interfere, but the moment he saw her nearly fall, he had moved without a second thought.
Since the little one didn’t recognize danger, he’d just have to make sure she remembered this lesson.
Selina puffed out her cheeks. She truly hadn’t noticed she was about to fall—her mind had been flooded with a rush of unfamiliar memories. “I was just… Logan!”
His palm landed again, not too hard, not too light.
Blood rushed through her veins in embarrassment, and ultimately, shame won out. She clenched her teeth.
“I’m not a child! You—you can’t hit me there!”
She was pressed against his chest, and due to the positioning, her hips were slightly raised—just perfect for his reach.
Logan chuckled. “So, you’re saying if you’re not a child, I can’t hit you?”
Selina’s face turned redder than ever, her eyes darting around in panic. “Exactly!”
Her unreasonable tone amused him. “Little one, I saved you. Shouldn’t you thank me?”
The warmth in his voice made her heart quiver. It was an unfamiliar feeling—being treasured. She couldn’t tell if she liked it or not, but it left her heart tingling. Instinctively, she tried to escape.
Logan shifted slightly to adjust her position, but Selina took advantage of the gap—slipping right out of his arms.
“Mr. Reid, you’re impossible! I—I’m leaving!”
Logan paused, watching as she fled in embarrassment. A slow, knowing smile curled on his lips.
After she disappeared, he turned back, his gaze settling on the vase sitting on the window sill.
The person from four years ago had been found. The rose he had waited for all these years had never arrived.
And now, he no longer needed it.
“Have someone remove the vase.”
…
As soon as Selina stepped out of the elevator, she bumped into someone with a loud thud.
Luke gasped, “Wow, your face is so red! Selina, don’t tell me you and Logan were up to something… inappropriate in the office again?”
Selina abruptly stopped in her tracks, turned on her heels, and changed the subject. “No!”
“If not, then why are you so defensive? Anyway, I actually came to tell you—”
“That’s the woman Mr. Reid personally brought in?”
Before Luke could finish his sentence, whispers started to spread behind them.
“Mr. Reid said that from now on, she doesn’t need an appointment to see him.”
“The woman next to Luke must be Miss Clark, right? Since she’s already received Mr. Reid’s approval, she must be the future Mrs. Reid.”
“Didn’t they say Mr. Reid even gifted a lakeside villa to a woman? Miss Clark is so lucky.”
Upon hearing this, Luke became visibly excited. “Exactly! Selina, that’s what I came to talk to you about—take me to the Lakeside Bay villa! That’s the one I had my eye on. Why would Logan give it to you?”
Selina frowned slightly.
Luke assumed she was unwilling and quickly added, “I just want to take a look, that’s all! I’m not going to steal it from you. Besides, a woman should have her own assets. What if Logan doesn’t want you anymore in the future? You’d be left with nothing!”
“I’m telling you, that Lakeside Bay villa is worth nearly two billion. Logan must really like you. He just handed over something worth two billion like it was nothing! Even I, his own brother, never—”
Selina was silent for a moment before suddenly turning to interrupt him.
“Luke.”
Luke looked at her, about to ask what was wrong.
Before he could speak, she calmly said, “I never received any villa.”
“So I don’t think Logan’s villa was meant for me.”
…
…
The moment she finished speaking, the air seemed to freeze.
Luke stiffened, his voice dropping slightly.
“Ah… ah… not for you…?”
A two-billion-dollar Lakeside Bay villa—if Logan didn’t gift it to Selina, then who did he give it to?
He had heard the recipient was a woman…
Selina, however, didn’t dwell on this minor interruption. After parting ways with Luke, she headed straight to the university.
But as soon as she stepped inside, she saw Natalia at the center of attention, surrounded by a group of admiring classmates.
“Natalia, Angelica is really your sister? A big-time celebrity!”
“How come you never mentioned it before? You’re too low-key!”
“I knew you weren’t that kind of person. There’s no way you would bully Selina! Good thing Angelica came forward to prove your innocence.”
Natalia basked in the attention, but upon spotting Selina, she put on a concerned expression and spoke in a saccharine tone.
“Sister, Angelica is back. The family didn’t notify you… Are you upset?”
The students immediately picked up on the implication.
“Wait… does Selina dislike Angelica too?”
“I get why she doesn’t like Natalia, but Angelica is such a great person. Why would she hate her?”
“Maybe Selina is the real problem!”
Natalia sighed helplessly but took the opportunity to fan the flames. “Sister, Angelica had no choice but to go abroad because of you. It’s been four years—can’t you just let it go?”
“What? Angelica was forced to leave the country?”
“Selina is awful! Did Clark Family seriously not have room for Angelica?”
Selina curled her lips into a smile, listening patiently until everyone had their say. Then, she lazily spoke.
“Do you all think I’m some kind of reincarnated Buddha?”
Natalia blinked, momentarily caught off guard. “What?”
“Angelica is just a stray kid left behind by a homewrecker. Why should I welcome her? I can’t even be bothered to deal with you—my father’s ‘legitimate’ illegitimate daughter—so why would I care about some random child from my father’s mistress and her ex-husband?”
Selina ran a hand through her hair nonchalantly. “You and your homewrecker mom have been living off of me, using my family’s wealth, and now you expect me to take care of someone who has absolutely nothing to do with the Clark Family? Do you think I’m that easy to bully?”
Natalia’s face turned beet red. “You—!”
Selina slowly turned her gaze to the surrounding students.
“Before you all jump to criticize me, do me a favor—use your brains.”
