Chapter 188: He Truly Loves You
The call was quickly answered by Logan’s legal team. “Mr. Reid, how can we assist you?”
Selina’s eyelid twitched. Wait a minute… why was he calling his lawyers? Was he planning to sue her for extortion?
Then she heard Logan’s leisurely voice. “How long would it take to transfer all my assets to Mrs. Reid?”
The lawyer on the other end: “…”
There was a noticeable pause. “Sir, are you sure?”
“Very sure.” Logan lightly tapped his fingers against the table. “Draft the paperwork.”
Still baffled, the lawyer hung up. Logan then looked up at Selina and said casually, “If I give Mrs. Reid all my assets, will that be enough to compensate for today’s losses?”
Selina’s heart skipped a beat.
Her mind screamed that this was just another one of his tricks, and she absolutely should not fall for it.
But her face betrayed her—flushing ever so slightly. “If it happens once, it’ll happen again. What if Angelica keeps flaunting herself in front of me?”
Logan’s lips curved into a smirk, a subtle hint of jealousy lacing the air. “Mrs. Reid, don’t worry. I’ve already issued a directive—she’s no longer allowed to use my name to show off.”
Selina blinked, momentarily at a loss for words.
Logan tilted his head, his gaze playful. “I heard Mrs. Reid was planning to bring me lunch at the office today?”
“…Yeah,” Selina responded absentmindedly, then suddenly paused. Wait—how did Logan know about that?
Logan chuckled softly. “So, do I still have that privilege now?”

Selina’s eyes glimmered with mischief. “You want me to visit the office?”
“Mrs. Reid holds a prestigious title. Naturally, she should visit the company more often.”
“Alright then.” She agreed instantly. “You head back first—I’ll be there soon.”
Logan saw right through her scheming but chuckled in amusement. “Alright.”
The moment he left, Selina hurried into the kitchen. “Vice President Wilson, mind if I borrow the kitchen for a bit?”
Half an hour later, Selina turned off the stove and took a small bite of her dish.
Yep. As always—consistently terrible.
She packed the food into containers, got into the car, and ordered, “Take me to Reid Group.”
Upon arrival, Jack was already waiting downstairs. The moment he saw her, he stepped forward eagerly. “Madam, you’re here. Sir hasn’t eaten yet.”
Selina took the executive elevator straight to Logan’s office. Without a word, she placed the dishes on the table.
“Mr. Reid, I brought you lunch. Enjoy.”
Logan’s gaze fell upon the dishes.
A charred, unidentifiable mass… and a few over-fried shrimp.
Selina smirked slyly. “It may not look great, but it’s made with love. I assume Mr. Reid wouldn’t be so heartless as to reject it?”
Without a flicker of hesitation, Logan picked up his chopsticks and feigned curiosity. “Mrs. Reid made this herself?”
“Of course. Otherwise, wouldn’t I be an irresponsible wife? I should at least try to do my part, don’t you think?”
Logan knew she was still holding onto some resentment, and if eating a meal she cooked helped her vent, he was more than willing.
Besides, how could he possibly dislike something she made?
With an unreadable expression, he calmly ate, as if savoring a five-star meal instead of whatever monstrosity she had created.
By the time he finished an entire plate, Selina swallowed nervously.
She had tasted these dishes herself and knew just how inedible they were. Yet, Logan had eaten every bite with a straight face?
A man of his status could have the finest gourmet meals at his fingertips—why on earth was he torturing himself like this?
She cleared her throat. “Uh… are you full?”
Logan glanced up at her teasingly. “Not quite. Why?”
Selina’s face grew even warmer. “Jack had a chef from Celestial Feast prepare a meal for you. Maybe you should switch things up?”
Logan chuckled, amused by how obvious it was that she felt bad for him.
“I don’t want to waste your effort,” he said smoothly. “I really liked it.”
After finishing the meal, Logan’s gaze softened. “Feeling better now?”
Selina was still basking in his praise, nodding absentmindedly. “Mm-hmm.”
Logan’s eyes flickered with amusement. “Then, will you come home with me?”
Just as she was about to agree, a sudden realization hit her—wait a minute, was he using his charm on her again?!
Her eyes darted mischievously before she turned and bolted toward the door. “Nope, Mr. Reid, you can go back by yourself. Gavin’s still waiting for me. I’m leaving!”
Logan watched her retreating figure, the warmth in his gaze nearly overflowing.
Just then, Jack stepped forward and reminded him, “Sir, it’s Luke on the phone.”
Logan raised an eyebrow and took the call, only to hear Luke’s animated voice from the other end.
“Logan! I heard Selina ran away from home? No way! Are you serious? How have you not won her back yet?!”
Luke sighed dramatically, clearly disappointed. “How do you not even know how to coax your wife? Logan, I’m honestly losing hope in you!”
Logan lazily leaned back. “You must have a lot of free time.”
Luke choked for a second before covering up his guilt with a louder voice. “What are you talking about?! I’m trying to help you here! You don’t want to wake up one day and realize your wife is gone, do you? Here, let me handle it—just watch me!”
With that, Luke abruptly hung up and immediately dialed Selina.
She picked up, confused. “Luke?”
“Selina, when are you coming home?”
Selina narrowed her eyes slightly.
Luke panicked. “Don’t misunderstand! Logan didn’t ask me to call you—I, I just wanted to say, Logan is actually a really good guy. Don’t stay mad at him, okay? He’s been thinking about you nonstop, he can’t eat, he can’t sleep… don’t you feel bad for him?”
Selina’s tone was teasing. “Oh… is that so?”
Luke got even more nervous and lowered his voice. “Besides, if you don’t go back soon, aren’t you just giving Angelica a chance?”
Selina let out a soft chuckle. “Got it.”
Luke finally relaxed. See? If not for him stepping in, Logan would still be struggling!
Meanwhile, at AS Grand Hotel, Gavin raised an eyebrow. “Reid Family’s young master actually came to persuade you? That’s surprising. I heard Logan and Luke don’t get along and barely speak a few words in a year. But judging from how Luke is acting, he sure seems to care about him.”
Selina shrugged.
Gavin smirked knowingly. “Did you really cook for Logan today? And he actually ate it? Selina, don’t tell me your cooking skills have improved?”
Selina didn’t answer. Instead, she handed him a plate of leftovers.
Gavin took a bite—and his expression instantly stiffened. After a long, awkward silence, he spoke with deep sincerity, “I believe now. He truly loves you.”
Because this was… absolutely inedible.
Logan actually finished two full plates of this?
Selina cleared her throat, her face flushing. “I’m going to work on my designs.”
“Alright, be careful on the way.”
She fled the scene without looking back.
That night, as Selina left her studio, Luke’s words suddenly echoed in her mind.
— He’s been thinking about you nonstop, he can’t eat, he can’t sleep… don’t you feel bad for him?
— If you don’t go back soon, aren’t you just giving Angelica a chance?
She clicked her tongue and instructed the driver, “Turn around.”
At Sapphire Valley Villa, the housekeeper was stunned for a moment before breaking into a delighted smile. “Madam, you’re back! But… where’s the master? Didn’t he come home with you?”
Selina halted in her steps. “Logan… isn’t home yet?”
