Chapter 189: Selina Is Angry
The maid was stunned for a moment. “Sir went out tonight. Didn’t he go to pick you up?”
Selina glanced at her phone—there were no missed calls from Logan. “When did he leave?”
“A little after eight…” The maid’s voice gradually lowered. “Madam, don’t worry. Maybe he just went to the office. I’ll call to check—”
But after a long wait, Logan’s phone remained unanswered.
Selina looked away. “No need. I’ll go rest first.”
The maid stammered, “O-okay, madam, please head upstairs.”
Back in her bedroom, an inexplicable wave of frustration welled up in Selina’s heart.
Didn’t he say he would wait for her to come home? Yet now that she was back, Logan was nowhere to be found.
She tried to focus on her design sketches, but when the clock hit eleven and he still hadn’t returned, she couldn’t resist sending Jack a message—only to get a response saying there were no meetings at Reid Group tonight.
Selina frowned.
Logan wasn’t at the office? Then where was he this late at night?
Just then, her phone rang. Selina jolted, but when she saw the caller ID, her anticipation faded—it was Gavin.
“Why aren’t you back yet?” he asked.
“I’m at Sapphire Valley Villa.”
Gavin clicked his tongue. “So, Logan managed to coax you back?”

Selina choked. Coax her? No way. “Logan’s not here. He didn’t coax me.”
“Hm?” Gavin’s tone turned serious. “It’s almost midnight, and he’s not home? Your husband isn’t coming back tonight?”
Selina pressed her lips together. She honestly had no idea.
Gavin sighed. “And you’re still awake waiting for him? If you’re so concerned, just call him.”
Selina mumbled, “But if he’s busy…”
“So what? Listen, Selina, you’re his rightful Mrs. Reid. You have every right to call him anytime you want, especially this late at night.”
Selina sat up, gripping her phone, caught in hesitation.
She… she was just making a call to check where he was. That shouldn’t be too much, right?
Ring… Ring… Ring…
The call rang for over thirty seconds before it was finally answered.
Before she could speak, a woman’s voice came through first—
“Hello? Looking for Logan? Sorry, he stepped out. He left his phone in the private lounge.”
Selina’s temple throbbed, and the flicker of hope in her heart instantly turned cold.
It was Angelica’s voice.
She had called Logan, but Angelica had answered.
“I didn’t check the caller ID earlier. Oh, it’s you, Selina. Do you need something?” Angelica chuckled, her tone deliberately casual. “Why are you calling so late?”
Selina sneered. “Where’s Logan?”
Angelica’s voice carried a trace of smugness. “He’s having drinks. We haven’t seen each other in years, so we’re catching up with some friends. Do you really need to interfere with that?”
Drinking?
A surge of anger flared in Selina’s chest—not at Angelica, but at Logan.
He knew full well that Angelica had ulterior motives toward him, yet he still went out drinking with her late at night?
“Selina, you’re not planning to come over, are you?” Angelica teased. “Even in marriage, a man needs his own space, don’t you think?”
Selina was already on her feet, grabbing her coat. “Our marriage is none of your concern.”
With that, she hung up and immediately called Jack, instructing him to send Logan’s location before heading straight out.
She was furious—really furious.
Just this morning, Logan had promised her he wouldn’t have private interactions with Angelica.
Yet not even ten hours later, they were drinking together.
Luke was right.
If she backed down, she’d only be giving Angelica an opportunity to take advantage.
As soon as Selina arrived at the bar, the deafening music and the overwhelming smell of alcohol made her frown deepen.
She found the private lounge, and just as she was about to push open the door, she heard a voice from inside—
“Angelica, Logan has been talking about you all these years. If we had known you were his ‘first love,’ we would have set you two up sooner!”
“Yeah, now that I see you and Logan together, you two are a perfect match. If you hadn’t been separated four years ago, it would have been like a romance novel come to life—a superstar and a powerful CEO, a match made in heaven!”
Angelica sat in the center of attention, surrounded by wealthy heirs.
Her cheeks flushed as she playfully scolded, “Alright, stop it. Mrs. Reid said she was coming to find Logan. If she hears this, she might think I’m trying to steal her husband.”
“Tch.” One of the young men scoffed impatiently. “Logan’s wife even has to control whether he drinks? She really has no self-awareness. This is a friends’ gathering—what’s an outsider like her doing here?”
“Exactly! Anyway, Angelica, you lost. Truth or dare—pick one!”
Angelica bit her lip shyly. “Dare.”
“Alright, your dare is—when Logan comes back, give him a kiss! On the lips!”
The group erupted in cheers. “Yes! Kiss! Kiss!”
“Stop it, what if Logan doesn’t want to?”
“Angelica, that’s where you’re wrong. Who wouldn’t want to kiss a stunning woman like you?”
Selina took a deep breath, unable to listen anymore. She pushed the door open forcefully.
The loud bang silenced the entire room as everyone turned to look at her.
Selina’s icy gaze swept over the crowd before landing on Angelica.
The young man from earlier frowned in annoyance. “Who are you? A waitress here? How rude!”
Selina let out a cold chuckle and stepped up to Angelica, towering over her.
Angelica put on a bashful expression. “Selina, don’t take it to heart. Everyone here is Logan’s friend—”
Selina ignored her and spoke in a calm but sharp tone. “Since everyone here claims to be Logan’s friend, you should all know that he’s married. Encouraging Angelica to kiss a married man—don’t you think that’s a bit inappropriate?”
The young heir scoffed, completely unfazed. “Married man? Who cares about some so-called ‘Mrs. Reid’? Just some country bumpkin—good enough for fun, but marrying her? That’s a joke!”
“Besides, I can tell Logan doesn’t even care about that washed-up hag. What’s the big deal if Angelica kisses him? They’re the real match—”
“Oh, if I’m not mistaken, you must be the young master of Taylor Group, Logan’s high school classmate.”
Selina’s tone was indifferent as she looked directly at him. “You’ve lived all these years and achieved nothing, and your biggest accomplishment is being Logan’s old classmate. Yet you think you have the right to look down on Mrs. Reid?”
SMASH!
Taylor slammed a glass bottle against the table, shattering it. “Who the hell do you think you are, talking to me like that?!”
Selina remained unfazed, then suddenly smiled.
“Looks like Angelica never told you my identity. Let me introduce myself.”
She spoke leisurely, her voice laced with amusement.
“I am the so-called ‘country bumpkin’ and ‘washed-up hag’ you all were talking about—Logan’s wife.”
Silence engulfed the entire lounge.
Taylor’s jaw dropped, his eyes widening in utter shock. He struggled to form a single word.
This… This is Selina?!
Angelica had always described Selina as plain, timid, and unworthy of attention.
But now that they saw her in person—with a face like that, who would dare call her a washed-up hag?!
Selina ignored their stunned reactions and turned her gaze to Angelica, her smile deepening with hidden meaning.
“Angelica, you know Logan is married, and technically, he’s even your brother-in-law. Yet you still play along with their jokes. Tell me, what exactly are you trying to do?”
