Chapter 204: Teaching the Bastards a Lesson
Daniel Stands Up for Owen, but Amelia Won’t Back Down Either.
“Logan, are you really this petty? You and Owen are family! Giving him a restaurant—do you really need to hold a grudge for this long? You let Selina make all these sarcastic remarks—aren’t you just accusing us of favoritism?”
“But have you ever stopped to think why we favor him? Isn’t it because you can’t measure up? Owen surpasses you in every way, so naturally, we—”
“Looks like Mrs. Perry isn’t just blind but brainless too.” Selina cut in with a smirk, waving her phone. “I recorded that. I’ll make sure it gets played on a loop so everyone can hear it.”
If this got out, the Reid Family would become a laughingstock!
“Selina, this is our family’s business! You’re looking for trouble—ahh!”
Before Amelia could finish, a sharp pain shot through her stomach, making her stumble as sweat beaded on her forehead.
Why does it hurt so much?!
Her gaze met Selina’s, and a terrifying suspicion formed in her mind. “You… you poisoned me?!”
Selina blinked innocently. “Mrs. Perry, what are you talking about?”
Right on cue. The poison was working perfectly.
Amelia trembled from the pain, unable to form coherent words.
Daniel panicked, rushing to support Amelia, but before he could curse at them, his own stomach twisted violently. He collapsed, sprawling on the floor in agony.
Owen’s heart pounded. He never imagined Logan and Selina would be so bold.
His parents were poisoned—did that mean he was, too?

“Big Brother! Even if Mom and Dad don’t like you, they’re still your parents! How could you be this vicious?!”
The moment the words left his mouth, his body convulsed. A searing pain coursed through him as if he’d been struck by lightning.
“AHHHH!”
Everything happened too fast. Daniel, despite the pain, roared in fury. “Logan! Hand over the antidote right now, or I’ll make you regret it!”
Selina remained unfazed. “The police station is right next door. Want me to report this for you?”
Then, as if nothing had happened, she casually ladled a bowl of soup. “Mr. Reid, you three only drank the fish soup earlier. If you’re so sure Logan and I poisoned you, then that’s the only possible source.”
“How about this? Logan and I will each drink a bowl. That should ease your worries, right?”
Logan glanced at the bowl in front of him, his lips curling slightly.
He had seen Mrs. Reid add something to the soup. Was she really so confident that drinking it was safe?
Selina winked at him. Logan raised an eyebrow before downing the entire bowl in one go.
“Mr. Reid, as you can see, there’s nothing wrong with the soup.”
Impossible!
Daniel was convinced Selina had taken the antidote beforehand. He had always known Logan was trouble—this only confirmed it!
He valued his life above all else. If Logan had really poisoned him, there was no need for restraint!
“Somebody call the police! Logan, don’t blame me for being ruthless! Today, I’m cutting ties with you once and for all!”
Selina raised an eyebrow, looking completely composed as she continued eating.
Before long, the police arrived.
As the doors to the private dining room swung open, curious guests and staff stopped to watch.
Daniel, drenched in cold sweat, gasped out, “I—I want to report a crime! Logan tried to murder his own parents—He wants to poison us.!”
The onlookers inhaled sharply, and even the officers stepped forward in urgency.
Selina stood up calmly. “Tonight, Owen invited Logan and me to dinner at Ambrosia. Throughout the meal, he went out of his way to belittle Logan, saying that a fallen phoenix is worse than a chicken. I simply defended Logan, and Owen got angry.”
“Young Master Reid couldn’t win the argument, and then suddenly Mrs. Reid and Chairman Reid started complaining about stomach pains. Shortly after, Young Master Reid also claimed to be in pain and immediately accused Logan and me of poisoning them.”
Selina shook her head and continued, “Officers, the three of them only drank the fish soup. To prove our innocence, Logan and I each drank a bowl as well, yet neither of us showed any symptoms of poisoning.”
Logan, watching Selina fabricate an entire story with a straight face, smirked slightly. “Selina, there’s no need to say more. The innocent will always remain innocent. I trust the police will prove our innocence.”
Just then, the doctors arrived.
The three members of the Reid Family continued their wailing as the lead doctor rushed to draw their blood for tests. Samples of the fish soup were also taken for examination.
Fifteen minutes later, the doctors exchanged glances, their brows furrowed.
Owen, burning with frustration, knew he had to pin this on Logan. His voice was urgent, “Doctor, is the poison serious?”
The doctors looked at each other before one of them finally spoke. “Apologies, Young Master Reid, but we found no traces of poisoning in any of you.”
…
No poisoning?! How was that possible?!
Daniel shuddered in shock. “If we weren’t poisoned, then why are we all experiencing stomach pain? Did Logan bribe you?!”
The doctor frowned. “I’m simply stating the facts. If Chairman Reid doubts my diagnosis, you’re welcome to call another doctor for a second opinion. Surely you don’t think Logan bribed every doctor in the city?”
At that moment, the Reid Family’s private physician arrived, hesitating before confirming, “Chairman Reid, you… you haven’t been poisoned…”
Owen was livid. “Impossible! This is nonsense! We’re in agony! If it’s not poison, then what else could it be?!”
“Perhaps you just ate something bad,” Selina mused, her tone casual.
“After all, the three of you have been feasting on delicacies all night. Delicate stomachs don’t handle spoiled food well.”
Then, as if she had just made a sudden realization, her eyes widened in mock surprise.
“Oh… could it be that you’re afraid of damaging the restaurant’s reputation? So instead of admitting that the fish wasn’t fresh, you’d rather blame Logan for poisoning you?”
Selina’s eyes reddened, and she threw herself into Logan’s arms.
“Logan, I feel so bad for you. Not only did they force you to give the restaurant to Young Master Reid, but now that the food is making people sick, they want you to take the blame for it too!”
Owen exploded in anger. “Selina, stop spouting nonsense! There’s nothing wrong with the restaurant! Our ingredients are all fresh! You must have tampered with something!”
“Whether the ingredients are fresh or not can easily be checked,” Logan interrupted nonchalantly.
The doctors nodded. “Chairman Reid’s symptoms do resemble food poisoning.”
“In that case, officers, please check the kitchen,” Selina said meaningfully.
“Logan and I cannot allow baseless accusations to tarnish our reputations. This will prove our innocence.”
The two officers exchanged a glance before decisively heading toward the kitchen, followed by a crowd eager to witness the drama unfold.
Owen’s face paled. He rushed forward, attempting to block their path. “There’s no need to trouble the officers over such a minor issue. We can—”
“What’s Young Master Reid so worried about?”
Selina twirled a strand of hair around her finger, her lips curling into a smirk.
“An honest man fears nothing. Are you saying you don’t dare to let them check?”
