Chapter 207: Clearing Her Name
Upstairs in the master bedroom at Sapphire Valley Villa.
Selina was scrolling through the trending topic: [Angelica Plagiarized].
She clicked in and saw a comment:
“It’s bad enough Angelica plagiarized, but to play the victim and tell the original creator to die? What a piece of work.”
Selina thought for a second, then hit like.
Underneath, someone tried to defend her:
“That was all Shareholder Taylor’s doing. He had ulterior motives…”
But that reply was quickly buried by angry responses:
“LOL, so it’s Shareholder Taylor’s fault? He gave Angelica ‘inspiration’ and she just used it? We’re not blind—it’s obvious the two of them set up Selina together!”
Selina clicked like again, satisfied.
“Never liked Angelica. She’s just a stepdaughter in the Clark Family but always acts like she’s royalty. Selina’s way more low-key than her.”
Like.
“Angelica and Natalia really are sisters in crime. Always scheming to milk the real heiress. If it weren’t for that mistress Katie helping out, Angelica wouldn’t have gotten away with framing Selina.”
Like.
“Is the whole Clark Family under a spell? Ignoring their own daughter to protect the stepdaughter? @ClarkGroup, maybe your CEO should get his head checked.”

“At this point I’m starting to think Selina isn’t even their real daughter. They’re just after her inheritance.”
Like, like, like!
Selina went on a liking spree, tagging every comment from accusations of plagiarism to conspiracies within the Clark Family.
It didn’t take long for people to notice.
“Hey, did anyone else see someone named ‘Selina’ liking all these comments?”
“That’s not just anyone—that’s Selina’s official account. If she’s liking them… maybe we were right all along?”
With a happy sigh, Selina closed Twitter.
Meanwhile, Jack had just noticed all the likes and immediately reported it to Logan.
“Sir, do you want me to do something about it?”
Logan answered coolly, “No need.”
Let her have her fun.
Jack hesitated. “But sir, everyone knows that’s her real account. If she keeps liking posts attacking Angelica, her fans might go after her…”
Logan looked up, calm and collected. “Then let the fans make this a hot topic, the public has sharp eyes.”
Jack blinked. Then he understood. “Yes, sir.”
At the Clark Family residence.
James was already exhausted from trying to suppress the trending topic.
But as soon as Selina started liking posts, it shot right back up—now ranked third.
He nearly passed out from rage.
“That ungrateful brat!” He slammed his palm on the table.
Then, trying to calm himself, he turned to Angelica.
“Angelica, did Mr. Reid agree to help?”
Angelica’s expression darkened as she shook her head stiffly.
She’d already called Logan, but he said if she wanted help, she’d have to use her second promised request.
…That was absolutely out of the question.
Angelica lowered her eyes to hide the resentment burning within.
“Uncle Clark,” she said softly, “even if Mr. Reid wants to help, Selina probably won’t let him. They are married, after all. He can’t openly take my side.”
James clenched his teeth.
“If only it had been you who married Mr. Reid instead of that brat—none of this would be happening!”
Angelica glanced at Katie, who immediately picked up on the cue.
She stepped forward, putting on a worried look.
“James, I’m not sure if I should say this…”
“Spit it out!”
Katie sighed. “Well, Angelica is Mr. Reid’s savior, after all. If he refuses to help now and later regrets it, he might blame our Clark Family for not standing by her.”
“So the best thing we can do right now,” she continued, “is to protect Angelica’s reputation and help clear her name.”
James frowned. “What exactly are you planning to do?”
Katie replied with feigned thoughtfulness, “Actually, it’s a pretty simple fix. We just need Selina to make a public statement saying she gave Angelica the design a long time ago. Say it was all a little joke between sisters. If it’s framed that way, no one will dig deeper.”
She added meaningfully, “After all, if the so-called victim forgives Angelica, why should everyone else keep hounding her? Right now, the public is attacking Angelica only because Selina won’t let it go…”
“James, I’m not saying this because I’m biased toward my own daughter—it’s for the good of the Clark Family!”
James fell into deep thought.
Katie had a point. The online backlash against Angelica was all because Selina hadn’t forgiven her and had let the situation spiral.
But if Selina publicly stated it was just a misunderstanding…
A thought struck him.
“I’ll call Selina.”
…
Selina glanced at the caller ID and saw it was James. She raised an eyebrow and answered.
To her surprise, there was no yelling on the other end. Instead, James sounded like a concerned father.
“Selina, I need to talk to you about something. Do you have a minute?”
Selina answered lazily, “Nope.”
“You…” James swallowed his frustration. “Selina, look, things at home are a mess right now. Angelica entered showbiz to help the family. She only plagiarized your design because she was misled by Shareholder Taylor!”
He softened his tone. “What if you released a statement saying you understand the truth and don’t blame her? Downplay the whole thing. People will admire you for your grace and forgiveness. What do you think?”
Selina raised an eyebrow.
So the Clark Family really was here to ask for a public pardon.
Forgive Angelica?
In her dreams.
She rejected him outright. “Not happening.”
“Selina, you—”
Before James could finish, Selina cut in swiftly, her tone sharp:
“Mr. Clark, do you think people are idiots? Anyone can see Shareholder Taylor is just the scapegoat. You think Angelica can clean up her mess that easily? Where did that one million on Taylor’s account come from? And why did Angelica go on the offensive even after plagiarizing me? Got answers for all that?”
James’s face darkened. “Those… those are complicated.”
“Mr. Clark,” Selina said slowly, her voice cool and clear, “if I were to publicly say the plagiarism was just a joke, no one would think Angelica’s innocent. They’d think the Clark Family forced their own daughter to take the fall for a plagiarist.”
She paused, then added lightly, “But if you don’t mind those consequences, sure—I’ll release a statement.”
James looked increasingly uneasy.
Because deep down…
He knew she was right.
In this situation, Selina “forgiving” Angelica would only make them look worse.
“So what do you suggest we do?” he snapped.
Selina gave a slow, meaningful smile.
“Angelica can be redeemed—but only if someone else takes the fall for her. The plagiarism is already confirmed. So, Mr. Clark… maybe it’s time to think differently. Don’t you agree?”
