Chapter 234: My Wife Gets Jealous
Perv?
Logan raised an eyebrow, lips curling into a half-smile as he glanced at Selina.
Selina felt a sudden pang of guilt for no reason.
Wait—why was she feeling guilty? She hadn’t done anything wrong! It was Logan who kissed her out of nowhere. He was the unreasonable one!
Reminding herself of that, she shot him a fierce glare.
Given Logan’s status, as soon as he returned, the other guests straightened up immediately.
“Mr. Reid is back.”
“What a coincidence. Miss Clark walked in just now, and Mr. Reid followed right after. If we didn’t know better, we’d think you two planned it.”
Selina choked, about to respond—
But then someone spoke hesitantly: “Uh… Mr. Reid… is it just me, or are your lips kinda… swollen too?”
Selina’s internal alarm blared.
Oh no.
Please don’t tell me they figured it out.
If people found out what just happened between her and Logan in the lounge…
That would be the end of her dignity.

She rushed to change the subject. “I think—”
“Maybe that perv swings both ways!”
She and someone else spoke at the same time.
Logan chuckled softly.
Selina: “…”
Everyone suddenly turned to look straight at Logan’s lips.
Logan, as composed as ever, didn’t seem fazed at all. “Just an allergic reaction. No need to worry.”
The guest immediately relaxed. “Ah, I see… Allergies. That makes sense. I mean, no matter how bold that perv was, he wouldn’t dare harass Mr. Reid.”
“Right, right—we were definitely overthinking it…”
The room went quiet again, but whispers started to circulate.
“Just allergies? God, I really thought Mr. Reid and Miss Clark were secretly hooking up or something…”
“Shh! Keep your voice down. Do you have a death wish?!”
“Hey, my theory actually makes sense, alright? Mr. Reid left first. Then Miss Clark. They were the only two missing from the whole party. And now they’re back—both with swollen lips. Tell me that’s not suspicious.”
“I mean, sure… but it’s Logan we’re talking about.”
Someone quickly tried to move things along. “Alright, alright, everyone’s here now. Let’s get the banquet started.”
This was a high-end event, so each table had multiple servers—tall, well-dressed, and carefully selected for looks and grace.
One young woman, probably around twenty, wore a fitted uniform and carried a premium bottle of red wine. She smiled politely.
“Guests, may I pour some wine for you?”
“Absolutely!”
“Of course!”
She made her way around the table with elegant, practiced movements. But when she reached Logan’s side, she froze in surprise.
“Mr. Reid?! You’re here too?”
She knows Logan?
Everyone’s curiosity was immediately piqued. All eyes turned toward them.
Selina paused, her fingers tightening slightly as she looked up.
Waitress looked genuinely delighted. She bit her lip shyly, voice soft and sweet.
“Mr. Reid… I didn’t expect to see you here. Thank you for helping me the other night. I still don’t know how to properly repay you…”
The room fell into silence.
Logan narrowed his eyes, giving her a long, slow once-over.
“I helped you?”
Her eyes, soft as blooming peach blossoms, suddenly filled with hurt.
“You don’t remember me? The night before yesterday, I was being forced to drink by a guest, and you stepped in to save me. I’ve been wanting to thank you ever since…”
Selina’s chest suddenly tightened with a weird, numb ache.
Jacob leaned closer and whispered in her ear, voice laced with implication:
“The night before yesterday? Miss Clark, weren’t you still in the middle of a fight with Logan then? Interesting that he had time to be out rescuing someone else…”
Selina’s lips tightened into a firm line.
Jacob glanced at Logan again, voice full of implication. “Logan, I didn’t realize you had so many admirers. Truly enviable. Don’t you think so, Miss Clark?”
Selina bit her tongue, but couldn’t help herself. Her tone was cutting.
“Oh, absolutely. No wonder he’s City A’s most eligible bachelor—everyone’s dying to get a piece.”
Logan calmly looked at her lips. Selina stiffened slightly.
Without even glancing at the server, and in a tone utterly devoid of emotion, Logan said, “Sorry. I don’t know you.”
The server’s eyes instantly filled with tears, big fat drops falling down her cheeks.
“Mr. Reid, you really don’t remember me? I just wanted to repay you. Nothing else. I’d even be your maid if you’d let me. Please, give me a chance to take care of you…”
She paused, eyes glinting with suggestion.
“I mean anything—personal care, or… any other kind of request you might have.”
Everyone looked around at each other, stunned.
She wasn’t even being subtle. The word gold-digger was practically stamped across her forehead.
Selina was about to explode.
First Bella, then Angelica, and now some random server?!
How did Logan manage to attract every shameless woman in a five-mile radius?
Logan’s rejection was cool and simple.
“If you want to repay me, you can donate. Jack.”
Jack stepped forward. “Miss, here’s the Reid Group’s charity fund account. You can transfer any amount you’d like to help rural children. I believe Mr. Reid would prefer that over having you as his maid.”
The server: “…”
Still not giving up, she pleaded with teary eyes, “Mr. Reid, I already donate every year. But that doesn’t mean I can’t stay by your side. I just want to take care of you. Please… let me go home with you…”
Selina was fuming.
She couldn’t even eat anymore. Jealousy bubbled over like acid in her chest.
If Logan didn’t shut this down right now, she was going to—
Logan turned and gave the woman a long, calm look.
There was no anger in his expression, but something in his eyes made the server’s blood run cold.
“No,” he said simply. “My wife would get jealous.”
The entire room went silent.
The server bit her lip. “But… your wife’s not even here. If you leave with me now—”
“Who said she’s not here?”
Logan spoke slowly, then turned his gaze toward the very girl drowning in jealousy.
He stood up, walked straight to Selina, and—to everyone’s shock—grabbed her by the wrist.
His voice held a hint of satisfaction and amusement.
“Done watching the show? Let’s go.”
Selina was too stunned to react. She stumbled, and before she knew it, Logan had wrapped an arm around her waist and was walking her out.
Everyone: “…”
What the hell just happened? Did Mr. Reid just… take Clark Miss away?
And what did he say before that?
“Who said my wife isn’t here”… and then walked straight to Selina?
Wait—did that mean…
One person turned to look at Jacob. Then another. And another.
“Hiss—Selina is Mrs. Reid?!”
“I thought she was Jacob’s fiancée?!”
“The aristocratic circle is too chaotic…”
…
Logan all but shoved Selina into the backseat of the car.
It wasn’t until the door slammed that she snapped out of it.
“Logan! Where are you taking me? The party’s not even over!”
“Home.”
He gave Jack a nod to start the car, tone lazy but firm.
“No more parties, Mrs. Reid. If we’d stayed any longer, someone was about to drown in their own jealousy.”
