Chapter 235: Warm-Hearted Luke
Selina couldn’t help firing back with sarcasm: “Oh, well, that’s just because Mr. Reid is so charming. No wonder women throw themselves at you.”
Logan suddenly chuckled.
Selina pursed her lips. “What? Did I say something wrong?!”
“Mrs. Reid, you really didn’t realize who sent that waitress?”
“What do you mean?”
Logan looked away, casual as ever. “If you didn’t figure it out, then forget it.”
Selina: “…”
What the hell? Now he’s being mysterious? She won’t be able to sleep tonight!
…
Meanwhile, on the other side of things—
The waitress slipped out of the banquet hall and quickly made a call.
“Young Master Reid, mission accomplished. Mr. Reid left with Miss Clark.”
Luke’s voice came through, excited: “He actually took her with him?! Right in front of everyone?!”
“Yes,” the waitress replied. “Mr. Reid said he didn’t want his wife getting jealous, then grabbed Miss Clark’s hand and walked out.”
Luke practically cheered, ready to slap his thigh.

“Perfect! Logan, you sly dog! Just walked out with her and made it crystal clear—Selina is his wife. That’s what I’m talking about!”
The waitress shyly reminded him, “So… about the rest of my payment?”
“Sending it now! Let’s definitely work together again!”
Luke hung up and immediately transferred $50,000 to her.
Smart as always—spending a little money to fix Logan and Selina’s relationship.
This family really couldn’t do without him!
…
Back in the car—
Selina stared, horrified. “Wait… you’re saying that waitress was sent by Luke?”
Logan replied nonchalantly, “It was obvious. Didn’t Mrs. Reid notice?”
Selina: “…”
She’d been too busy being mad—how was she supposed to guess that was Luke’s scheme?
Logan leaned in and pressed a firm kiss to her lips.
“Clearly, Mrs. Reid gets flustered when she cares too much.”
Selina’s cheeks flushed. “I never said I’ve forgiven you yet! Let me out. I’m not going back to Sapphire Valley Villa!”
Logan didn’t argue.
The little one was already embarrassed and annoyed—dragging her home now would probably make her explode.
So, in a rare moment of mercy, he had the driver take her to Damien’s place instead.
Once Selina got out and left, Logan’s expression returned to its usual cold, distant self—Mr. Reid, in full form.
Jack swallowed nervously, debating whether to speak. “Sir… I’m not sure if I should say this.”
Logan replied calmly, “Then don’t.”
Jack paused, then braced himself.
“Sir, I think… you need to brush up on how to date. Jacob might be fake as hell, but his details are on point! That party today? He invited all his friends, dropped hints that he’s engaged to Miss Clark—if you hadn’t shown up, he could’ve spun the whole narrative in his favor!”
Logan gave him a look. “There was no if.”
Jack wiped an imaginary bead of sweat from his forehead.
“Still! You can’t just give other men chances like that! Even without Jacob, there are plenty of guys around Miss Selina. You’ve got to stay alert!”
Like today—things had just started smoothing out, and Logan still let her go to Damien’s.
Sure, Damien was technically her older brother…
But they weren’t blood-related!
Logan, however, didn’t seem concerned. “He’s different.”
Damien and the others were Selina’s real family now.
After she was kicked out of the Clark family, it was her uncle, and brothers who raised her.
Some people might not understand—why she’d feel closer to “outsiders” than to her own flesh and blood.
But Logan did.
When her world had collapsed and she had no one, it was those people—strangers—who gave her warmth and kindness.
From that moment on, they became her family.
Not because of blood. Not because of obligation.
But because Selina was a good person. And good people… always attract those who are willing to love them with their whole heart.
Logan had never had anyone like that in his life.
He’d grown up cold, distant, and isolated.
So seeing Selina with that kind of chosen family…
He genuinely thought—it was a beautiful thing.
…
The next day, at City A University.
The truth about the Angelica incident had come out—Selina wasn’t just innocent, she was the victim.
Her counselor immediately allowed her to return to school, and many students felt deeply sorry for her.
After the last class of the day, someone whispered,
“Natalia didn’t show up today…”
“Good, she had the nerve to come before, going around acting all righteous saying Selina was vicious. And now? Turns out Selina was framed—her own sister set her up.”
“Well, they said it was her manager who did it…”
“Yeah, fans said that. But seriously, you believe it? Why would a manager go out of her way to mess with the heiress of the Clark Family? What’s she getting out of that—commission on Angelica’s inheritance?”
“Exactly. It’s obvious Angelica masterminded the whole thing, and now that it backfired, she’s dumping the blame on her assistant.”
“Forget it, let’s stop talking. Angelica may be exposed, but she’s still someone you don’t want to mess with. Isn’t Mr. Reid still going to her birthday party?”
Everyone went quiet.
“Ugh, life really is unfair. I heard Angelica invited a ton of people—she’s clearly hoping this party will save face.”
“With Logan there, she’s definitely going to steal the spotlight again.”
Birthday party…
Selina glanced at the time.
Five days until her birthday.
She thought about what Logan had said—that he wasn’t going to celebrate Angelica’s birthday, but hers…
Selina told the driver, “Turn around. Take me to the Reid Group building.”
Half an hour later, Jack personally escorted her upstairs.
Logan looked up, raising an eyebrow.
“Mrs. Reid. To what do I owe the pleasure?”
Selina’s eyes sparkled with mischief. “Logan, we haven’t officially made up yet.”
Logan finished signing a document, then nodded at Jack to bring up tea and snacks. He narrowed his eyes.
“Hm… So what would it take for Mrs. Reid to forgive me?”
Selina cleared her throat. “You do know what day it is five days from now, right?”
Logan paused for a beat, then said deliberately, “It’s Mrs. Reid’s birthday. Why?”
Selina’s expression stiffened.
Forget it—no more playing it cool. She cut to the chase.
“It’s the day Angelica invited you to the Clark Family estate to celebrate her birthday. You told me you were celebrating mine instead. Does that still stand?”
Logan leaned back in his chair, arms relaxed.
“Mrs. Reid doesn’t want me to go?”
Selina’s mouth twitched.
Did he really need her to spell it out? Wasn’t it obvious how she felt?
“Of course I want you to go.”
She felt a little embarrassed, like she was the jealous villainess in a cliché romance novel.
“But when you’re there, you have to make it very clear you’re there for my birthday, not Angelica’s. Her birthday isn’t even on December 29th. She stole my birthday!”
Logan’s smile widened. He decided not to tease her anymore.
“That was my plan all along.”
Although… Angelica stole her birthday?
What did that mean?
He didn’t get a chance to ask.
Just then, Jack knocked on the door.
“Sir, Angelica’s downstairs. She says she needs to speak with you.”
Logan narrowed his eyes slightly.
Selina’s lips curved into a cool smirk. “Well, what a coincidence. I wonder what she wants.”
Logan let out a soft laugh.
“Let her up.”
