Chapter 241: The Delusional Narcissist
“Mr. Ethan’s gift may not be the most expensive, but it’s the last piece made by Master Margaret—a one-of-a-kind watch in the world. Is it really for Angelica?”

“They’re all Mr. Reid’s close friends and family. He must’ve asked them to come support Clark Miss at the party, right?”

“I’m so jealous… Any one of these gifts could steal the spotlight, and Logan sent several!”

“Look, Clark Miss is here!”

Angelica felt a wave of dizziness wash over her.

Luke’s crown was crafted from platinum and top-tier diamonds—once a favorite of Queen Y, before it ended up in private hands.

Ethan’s women’s watch? The dream of every socialite.

And then there was the ring in Alice’s hand… a ring. What else could that mean?

Angelica fought to steady her breathing, doing her best to remain composed.

“Welcome, everyone! Please, come inside!”

Luke gave Ethan a knowing look. Ethan chuckled.

“We’re here on Logan’s behalf—to deliver his gifts.”

James had never felt so proud in his life. The moment was too much.

“Th-then… where’s Mr. Reid?”

“Logan’s main gift is still on the way. He’ll be here soon.”

Ethan held the gift box just above Angelica’s outstretched hands—but before it touched her palms, he suddenly shifted his hand away.

“Mr. Clark, Logan specifically instructed that these gifts be given to the birthday girl—the real Miss Clark celebrating her birthday today. I’ll leave them with you, and trust you’ll pass them along. I think you understand what I mean.”

James froze. Something about Ethan’s words didn’t feel right. What did he mean… the real Miss Clark?

The entire Clark Family knew that technically, today was Selina’s birthday. Angelica’s actual birth date wasn’t the 29th.

But so what?

Everyone thought Angelica was the birthday girl. Selina was never even in the picture.

So of course Logan’s gifts must be for Angelica!

Overwhelmed with joy, James didn’t think twice. He shoved all the gifts into Angelica’s arms.

“Angelica, express your gratitude!”

Angelica blushed with excitement.

“Thank you, Ethan, for bringing the gifts. And…Logan…”

Ethan’s eyes flashed with mockery.

He didn’t correct her—he just kept baiting her.

“Logan will be here any moment. A few days ago, he bought an entire island. I’m guessing he plans to give it to Miss Clark as a birthday present. Miss Clark, maybe you should wait for him at the entrance.”

An island?!

The room collectively gasped. Jealousy and regret rippled through the crowd.

Jealous—how did the Clark Family get so lucky? Even a stepdaughter like Angelica managed to latch onto Logan?

Regret—why couldn’t their daughters be more ambitious? If any of them had married Logan, they’d be living in untouchable luxury right now.

“Oh my god… An island from Mr. Reid? That’s gotta be worth billions.”

“He just gives away an island? This is next-level spoiling!”

Angelica finally relaxed. Looks like the party would go off without a hitch.

She was about to officially claim the title of the most envied woman in City A.

She opened her mouth to gloat—but a voice cut through the air.

“Angelica, how are you so sure that island is for you?”

Selina tucked her hair behind her ear, her smile bright and meaningful.

“After all… you’re not the only one having a birthday today.”

Her words hit like a thunderclap.

“Wait—Selina, what are you saying? The island’s not for Angelica? You think it’s for you?”

“Yeah, seriously, who else has a birthday today besides Angelica? You’re not trying to say it’s you, are you?”

“Ugh, stop embarrassing yourself. You try to compete with Angelica at every turn, and you always end up looking like a joke.”

“Wait, don’t tell me… you’re still clinging to that delusion that you’re Mr. Reid’s wife? What is this, a fairy tale?”

Katie was in a great mood. With a smug, condescending look, she said,

“Selina, just face reality. Mr. Reid celebrating my Angelica’s birthday is perfectly natural. If you really like the island so much, maybe Angelica can take you to visit sometime.”

Angelica’s heart was pounding.

The drone and firework show from last night had already pushed her to the top of the trending topics. And now, if Logan gifted her an island…

A man like Logan—only she was worthy of him.

Angelica looked over at Selina and said sweetly, “Selina, Mr. Reid will be here any minute. You might want to stop daydreaming before you embarrass yourself and make him upset.”

Selina raised an eyebrow slightly, took a slow sip of red wine, and didn’t say a word.

Right then, commotion broke out near the entrance.

The front doors were pushed open, and everyone instinctively turned to look.

A tall, sharply built man walked in, exuding quiet power. With chiseled features, piercing eyes, and a custom timepiece worth a fortune on his wrist, he moved with the effortless dominance of someone used to being in control. Just one glance from him was enough to silence a room.

Logan.

Logan Reid, the unshakable head of the Reid Group.

He had actually shown up.

Angelica blushed furiously and practically skipped up to him, her voice sweet with girlish delight, “Logan, you’re here! The party’s just about to start!”

Everyone scrambled to make themselves known in front of Logan.

“Mr. Reid has always been so private—he rarely shows up at events like this. This just proves how much he values Miss Angelica!”

“Mr. Reid, it’s a pleasure! You and Miss Angelica are a perfect match!”

Angelica stole a glance at Logan, barely able to contain her excitement.

Becoming Mrs. Reid had been her dream for years—to stand beside him, basking in status, praise, and envy.

They weren’t married yet, but she was sure—it was only a matter of time.

James was practically glowing.

Unlike Selina, Angelica always put the Clark Family first. Once she married Mr. Reid, the Clark Family would rise to new heights.

And he—James—would become Logan’s father-in-law. People would treat him with nothing but respect wherever he went.

Thinking of this, James beamed and rushed forward.

“Mr. Reid, thank you for coming all this way! We’re so honored to have you at Angelica’s birthday banquet. Please, come in!”

Logan’s gaze swept across the room. His voice was low, hoarse, and casually distant.

“Mr. Clark, did you receive the gifts?”

James almost choked with joy.

“Yes, yes! We received everything—Mr. Reid, you were far too generous!”

Logan gave a faint nod.

“Did your daughter like them?”

James clutched his chest—this was it, confirmation! Logan really did care about Angelica!

“She loved them! Absolutely loved them—how could she not?”

Angelica’s cheeks flushed a deeper red.

Logan’s lips curved into something unreadable.

“There’s one more gift. I’m sure Ethan mentioned it—an island, down south.”

Angelica tried to act shy.

“Logan, I heard about that island… Didn’t you pay five billion for it? Isn’t that a bit… extravagant?”

Logan’s tone was cool and effortless.

“A gift for the most important person in my life—what’s five billion? Hardly extravagant.”

The women around them couldn’t hold back their squeals.

Oh. My. God. Mr. Reid was so devoted to Angelica!

An island—five billion—and he didn’t even blink!

Angelica’s heart felt like it might burst. She glanced at Selina, standing quietly in the corner, then gave a subtle look to one of the socialites nearby.

The woman caught on immediately and loudly piped up, “Mr. Reid, just a moment ago, Selina was saying the island was for her! Isn’t that hilarious?”
