Chapter 245: She’s Hideous
“What’s wrong?” Logan asked.
Selina looked around but didn’t see anything. She shook her head. “I just have this weird feeling someone’s following us.”
The man narrowed his eyes sharply, scanning behind them with a piercing gaze.
“Forget it,” Selina said with a wave of her hand. “I’m wrapped up like a burrito—no way anyone could recognize me.”
She tossed more ingredients into the cart.
…
Only after the two walked away did the middle-aged man step out from behind the shelves. He swallowed hard, still a little shaken. “Young Master Owen, I’m telling you, it was definitely Logan. He was shopping with some random woman!”
“Yes, yes, I swear, that woman was not Selina!”
“Of course, you can count on me…”
He hung up and snapped a few photos, a gleam of triumph in his eyes.
With dirt like this, who needs to worry about money? Now that he had leverage on Logan, it was just a matter of time before he could demand a few million. Logan wouldn’t dare say no.
Smirking, he called a tabloid reporter. Within half an hour, the photos were online—and trending.
…
Selina, meanwhile, was completely unaware of the drama unfolding online.
Back at the hot spring villa, she borrowed the kitchen. She followed the baking tutorial with laser focus, her expression as serious as if she were at an international summit.

Logan leaned casually in the doorway, arms crossed. “Mrs. Reid’s been studying for half an hour now. How’s it going?”
Selina frowned. “It’s just a cake. I’m not losing to a damn cake. Failure is not an option.”
Logan chuckled softly—adorable.
She squinted at the recipe. Every step made sense… yet somehow putting it all together? Total chaos.
Did she really have zero talent in the kitchen?
Beep beep beep…
Her phone started buzzing insistently. Still deep in baking mode, she didn’t even glance at it—until it rang again.
She wiped her hands and picked it up. It was Kevin.
That could only mean one thing: trouble.
“Kevin? What’s wrong?” she asked as she answered.
“Selina!” Kevin snapped, his tone sharp. “Where’s Logan?”
Selina blinked. The vibe was not good.
Kevin practically growled, “I swear, I’m going to tear that bastard apart!”
“What?” Selina was completely confused.
Kevin was fuming. “Have you seen Twitter? I don’t know who posted it, but I know one thing for sure—Logan is trash. Selina, you’re still young. Divorce him while you can. I won’t let anyone treat you like this!”
Logan looked over with a raised brow.
Selina was lost. She understood every word Kevin said… but together, they made no sense. Logan cheated?
She scrambled to explain, “Look, all that stuff with Angelica was fake—”
“Who said I was talking about Angelica?!” Kevin shouted. “Check Twitter. He was photographed shopping with another woman!”
At the word shopping, Selina got a strange feeling.
She quickly pulled up Twitter.
#Reid Group CEO spotted shopping with mystery woman — affair rumors swirl. Is Mrs. Reid being left behind? From heaven to heartbreak, what’s her next move?#
Selina: “…?”
Kevin was still ranting. “See?! That scumbag was sneaking around with some other chick! Covered head to toe like a criminal—mask, scarf, hat—you know she’s shady!”
He scoffed. “Probably ugly as hell, too. No wonder she’s hiding her face. But to think someone like that is trying to compete with you? Please. Don’t worry, Selina. I’ll deal with them both. I’m coming over now.”
Selina: “…Wait. I think…”
Kevin shouted, “Did you see what Logan’s doing? He’s got his arm around that woman, in broad daylight! Shameless!”
“And look at her—what even is she wearing? No figure, no fashion sense. Logan passed on you for that? He must be blind!”
Selina instinctively glanced down at her own outfit and figure, swallowing hard. “Kevin, maybe you should let me explain—”
“No need!” Kevin cut her off. “I get it. You’ve been wronged, Selina!”
He declared with conviction, “I’m going to dig up everything on that woman. Then I’ll drag her and Logan in front of you to apologize!”
Selina looked up—Logan was giving her a smug, amused look.
Her scalp tingled with dread. Something in her snapped, and she blurted, “Kevin… you really think that woman’s ugly?”
Kevin, in all honesty, had to admit the woman in the photo had great proportions. Even with her head down, it was obvious she was beautiful.
But no way was he going to say that and upset Selina.
So he said firmly, “Of course! I’m a designer—I’ve seen a lot of women. And trust me, she’s ugly.”
Selina fell into an awkward silence.
Kevin, thinking he hadn’t bashed hard enough, continued, “Don’t worry. You’re the most beautiful woman in my eyes. Logan? Guy’s clearly blind—”
“Ahem.” Selina coughed, cutting him off. “You really didn’t think she looked… familiar?”
That gave Kevin pause.
Now that she mentioned it… yeah. Something did feel familiar.
He hesitated. “Familiar… and?”
“So, the woman shopping with Logan—the one with the supposedly bad figure and no fashion sense?”
Selina paused, then deadpanned, “That was me.”
Kevin: “…?”
Kevin: “……”
Silence thundered through the line.
It hit him like a bolt of lightning, and he nearly passed out from embarrassment.
After a long pause, he finally whispered in disbelief, “…That was you?”
Selina shrugged casually. “Yup. Logan and I were at the hot spring resort. We went down to the supermarket for groceries. Didn’t expect to get papped.”
Kevin finally came to his senses. “Okay, well… that makes this even worse.”
Selina blinked. “Huh? Worse how? Logan didn’t cheat, what’s the problem?”
Then Kevin’s voice dropped, serious and slow.
“That photo was leaked by someone claiming to be an insider at Reid Group. The gossip accounts must’ve vetted their source—no way they’d post it otherwise.”
“If it was an insider, then Logan’s got a mole on the inside.”
Selina’s breath caught. She whipped her head toward Logan.
She could barely hear Kevin’s voice on the line anymore—her mind was racing.
How long had this mole been planted? Were they dangerous?
She pulled up the leaker’s Twitter account, brows knitting together.
“They really do seem to know a lot about Reid Group. Feels like someone from upper management. Logan, maybe you should investigate—”
Before she could finish, she noticed Logan watching her with a deep, burning look.
“Mrs. Reid,” he murmured, “are you worried about me?”
