Chapter 252: Truly Dumb Luck
Selina turned around to see a man in his fifties, refined and gentle, stepping forward. “What’s going on here?” he asked calmly.
Kyle Morris sneered, “Dad, what else could it be? These two women are being unreasonable, insisting on taking our private room. Typical airheads.”
Selina’s face was expressionless. “Mr. Morris, I’ve already presented proof that I booked this room. Where’s yours? Or does the City H Morris Family think that just because you have wealth and power, you can rewrite the rules and twist the truth?”
People nearby began casting doubtful glances toward Kyle. It was clear from the situation that the Morris Family was in the wrong—and yet this Morris heir…
Kyle, fuming, snapped, “I told you to shut up!”
The elder Mr. Morris quickly stepped in. “So that’s what happened. Miss Clark, I sincerely apologize. When we arrived, the restaurant didn’t inform us that Room One had already been reserved. We’ll give it up immediately—please don’t take offense.”
He turned to his son. “Kyle. Apologize.”
Kyle’s face twisted in resistance, but after a pause, he gritted out, “Fine, I’ll give it up.”
Mr. Morris sighed. “My son’s behavior was out of line. I hope you’ll forgive him.”
Freya rolled her eyes. Kyle wasn’t a kid—still being excused for being “young and thoughtless”? What a man-baby.
Once Selina and Freya entered the private room, Kyle muttered through clenched teeth, “Dad! Why be so polite to her? I’ve heard that Selina always gives Angelica a hard time. Are we supposed to just sit back and let her act like a queen now? And she even insulted Mom!”
Mr. Morris shook his head. “Regardless, she’s still Angelica’s sister. If we push too hard, people might think Angelica was behind it all.”
He glanced toward the door, frowning slightly. There was something oddly familiar about Selina… but perhaps it was just his imagination.
…
Inside the private room, Freya was still fuming. “That so-called young master of the Morris Family? Total idiot! Thank god his father actually has some sense.”

Selina didn’t care much about the Morris Family, but she asked casually, “What are they doing in City A anyway? Expanding a business? Seems odd for both father and son to come together.”
Freya leaned in like she was about to spill a secret. “I heard a rumor—they’re here to find a long-lost daughter. Mr. Morris’s wife went missing over twenty years ago. By the time they found her, she had already passed away, but apparently, she had a daughter before she died.”
“Kyle is her oldest son. Mr. Morris never remarried all these years. Must’ve really loved his wife. That’s why they’re so serious about bringing this daughter home—they came together to find her.”
Selina raised a brow. “So, they already found her?”
“Yup. Word is the DNA test came back positive.”
Freya’s eyes lit up mischievously. “They’re probably here to meet her privately first. I bet they’ll hold a big family reunion soon. We should find out who she is!”
…
Meanwhile, in another part of the city—
Old Mr. Carter handed over a stack of design drafts to Angelica. “These were all left by Victoria. Take them.”
Angelica tried to hide the excitement bubbling in her chest, putting on a shy smile. “Thank you, Grandpa Carter. Don’t worry—once I return to the Morris Family, I’ll definitely help you secure that partnership. They’re all waiting for me. I’ll head out now.”
Old Mr. Carter waved her off.
After she left, the butler hesitated. “Sir, weren’t those designs left by Miss Victoria specifically for Miss Selina? Are you sure it’s okay to give them to Angelica?”
“The Carter Family is surrounded by threats on all sides now. Selina can’t help us—she’s already teamed up with Logan. I can’t count on her anymore.”
Old Mr. Carter didn’t sound the slightest bit remorseful. “What Victoria left behind was just some design drafts. Giving them to Angelica in exchange for a shot at saving the Carter Family—Selina will understand.”
The butler sighed. “But Miss Victoria helped the Carter Family so much… Can we really repay her by giving what belongs to Miss Selina to her enemy?”
“What else do you want me to do?!” Thomas snapped, frustration boiling over.
“Selina refused to marry into the Carter Family, which means we can’t touch Victoria’s inheritance. Angelica is our only chance now—and she’s with the Morris Family. If Angelica becomes their heiress, and Natalia becomes my granddaughter-in-law, I’ll finally have ties to the Morris Family. Isn’t that a good thing?!”
“As for the design drafts—you’d better keep quiet! If Selina finds out Angelica’s been copying Victoria’s work, she’ll blow it all up. And with the Morris Family backing her now, we can’t afford to make enemies.”
“Besides, Victoria is gone. She doesn’t know Angelica is plagiarizing her designs, so what she doesn’t know won’t hurt her. Let’s just act like nothing happened.”
The logic made a certain cold sense, but the butler couldn’t shake the unease in his heart.
All that Miss Victoria did for the Carter Family… was it really going to be forgotten just like that?
Was Angelica’s theft of her work so easily brushed aside—just because Victoria was no longer alive?
…
Meanwhile.
Freya, waiting near the entrance, suddenly heard footsteps.
She perked up. “That’s gotta be the Morris Family’s long-lost daughter arriving. I’m going to see who it is—”
She froze mid-sentence, her voice trembling with shock. “Selina, come here… am I seeing things? How could the daughter possibly be…”
“…Angelica?”
Selina froze in place, then quickly walked to the door.
The restaurant manager was fawning as he led someone to the entrance of Private Room Two. Joe Morris and Kyle were personally there to greet her.
Freya heard it clearly: Kyle called Angelica “sister.”
Her worldview shattered on the spot.
“The long-lost daughter of the Morris Family… is Angelica? Are you kidding me? How is she always this lucky, always managing to latch onto powerful families?!”
Then, a beat later, she scoffed.
“Actually, it kinda makes sense. Kyle’s annoying personality really does match Angelica’s—they really do seem like siblings.”
Selina narrowed her eyes.
Angelica…
Was the Morris Family’s “discovery” of Angelica’s identity really a coincidence? Thinking back to Katie’s recent behavior and the Clark Family’s moves, it all started to feel… suspicious.
As if it had all been planned.
Inside the room, Angelica had just stepped in when she heard Kyle call her “sister.”
Her heart pounded with anticipation as she let tears fall—carefully staged tears of joy and sorrow. “Mister Morris…”
“Don’t call me that. Call me brother,” Kyle corrected immediately, still fuming that he hadn’t punished Selina more thoroughly earlier. He motioned for Angelica to sit and glanced at her right hand. “What did you bring?”
Angelica quickly pulled out several notebooks and design sketches, lowering her head respectfully. “Earlier, the chairman—Dad—mentioned how much he missed Mom. I went through our home and found these.”
Joe Morris took the items and his hands immediately began to tremble. Tears welled in his eyes.
“These… these are Victoria’s notes and drawings! You have her belongings… You really are her daughter…”
Angelica blinked, voice soft and emotional. “After Mom passed, I kept everything. I used to look at them secretly by myself. I never imagined I’d one day find my father and brother… I’m just so happy.”
Joe’s eyes filled with grief and love. He looked at her as if she was a miracle. “You poor child… you’ve suffered so much.”
Angelica couldn’t help but smile.
Selina, that stupid woman—she probably had no idea who Victoria was, or what her connection to the Morris Family had been.
Well, too bad. Angelica would just have to enjoy this blessing in her place.
…
The revelation that Angelica was the long-lost heiress of the City H Morris Family exploded on social media and shot straight to the top of the trending topics.
Across the room, Logan tapped his fingers thoughtfully on the table, eyes narrowing slightly in surprise.
“Morris Family, huh?”
