Chapter 280: Punishing Her
Luke: “…”
The moment Luke heard Logan’s low chuckle, every hair on his body stood on end. He immediately panicked, blurting out, “No, no, no, it’s not like that!”
But the manager thought Luke was just being shy and gave him a “I get it” look.
“Is Young Master Luke’s engagement still a secret? Don’t worry, I’ll keep it confidential. I won’t cause any trouble for you and Mrs. Reid!”
Luke’s expression twisted.
What the hell is this?!
Is this some kind of setup?!
If this misunderstanding got any bigger, he might not even live to see tomorrow!
Logan’s smile deepened, the corner of his mouth curling into something sharp and dangerous. He let out a low, noncommittal, “Hmm?”
Selina shivered, swallowing hard. It felt like there was a knife resting against her neck.
She immediately darted to Logan’s side and declared righteously, “Manager, please don’t joke around. The person I like is Logan!”
Luke jumped in right after, frantically nodding. “Yes, yes, it’s Logan! She doesn’t like me!”
The manager: “…?”
The manager looked visibly confused. “But didn’t you two come to pick up the wedding rings…?”
From the manager’s point of view, it looked like a scandal — the fiancée was running off with the groom’s brother! Was Young Master Luke just going to let himself be humiliated like this?

Man… rich families really do play wild.
Logan let out another soft laugh, the sound sending chills down everyone’s spine.
Luke looked utterly broken, like a man who had seen the end of the world.
I’m done for. I’m tired. Let it all burn.
What the hell was I thinking?!
Why would I, an idiot, show up with Logan’s wife to pick up their wedding rings?!
Wedding rings have a special meaning to a couple, and here he was, inserting himself into the moment like a complete fool.
God, I’m such an idiot!
Jack coughed lightly and quickly explained the situation to the manager.
After hearing the explanation, the manager finally understood — Mrs. Reid’s fiancé wasn’t Luke, it was the legendary Mr. Reid himself…
But that only left him more confused.
Wait, wasn’t Mr. Reid supposed to be in love with Miss Riley?
He remembered Miss Nelson had even dropped by the store a few days ago and mentioned it casually…
A few minutes later, the manager personally escorted them to the door.
Luke bolted like his life depended on it, leaving only Logan and Selina behind.
Logan leaned lazily against the car, his posture relaxed, one eyebrow raised slightly.
“So you and Luke went to receive your wedding rings together, huh?”
Selina was so guilty she didn’t even know where to look.
Now she remembered—Miller Butler had told her to wait a bit because Logan was coming.
But she didn’t wait. She ran off with Luke… and got caught by the manager.
But—but she was just too excited to see the rings! It wasn’t her fault!
After all, they were designed by Rowan…
Wait a second—Selina suddenly thought of something and looked up at Logan suspiciously.
“Why did you say you designed the rings earlier? Wasn’t it Rowan?”
A crazy thought popped into her mind—
Could Rowan actually be… Logan?!
All those things she had said to Rowan…
Logan answered casually, “Given the situation, if I mentioned Rowan, they would’ve demanded proof and created even more trouble. It was easier to just say I designed them myself.”
He cast her a lazy glance. “What did you think it was?”
Selina patted her chest, relieved.
Okay, okay, no big secret!
When they got home, she wanted to rest in the master bedroom—but found the door locked.
Logan’s voice came lazily from down the hall.
“Mrs. Reid seems to still not know what she did wrong. Think it over before you come back to bed.”
Leaving your husband and going off with another man to pick up the wedding rings—how could that be so casual?
A once-in-a-lifetime moment, and she shared it with someone else first.
If Luke hadn’t been a clueless puppy, Logan wouldn’t have let him off so easily.
Selina’s face was full of shock: “…?”
Logan, do you even hear yourself right now?!
She knocked on the door, but Logan didn’t respond. She went to find Miller Butler, who looked troubled and said the master key was only held by Mr. Reid—he couldn’t open the door either.
Selina felt even guiltier. She went back upstairs and knocked again.
“Uh, Logan, I’m used to sleeping in the master bedroom. I can’t sleep well anywhere else.”
Sure, she had left her husband at home and run off, but she was admitting her mistake now—that had to count for something, right?
Inside the master bedroom, Logan quietly closed a book. His gold-rimmed glasses caught the light as he said indifferently, “The lady’s bedroom is empty. You can sleep there.”
After a pause, he casually added, “If I remember correctly, that’s where Mrs. Reid stayed when she first moved into Sapphire Valley Villa.”
Selina almost choked: “!”
When they first got married, she’d been dead set on it being a contract marriage. Of course she had insisted they sleep in separate rooms!
But now Logan was her legitimate husband. How could he still want her back in the lady’s bedroom?
Selina tried to reason with him. “The situation was different back then. We didn’t have any emotional connection…”
“So at the time, Mrs. Reid didn’t consider me her husband?” Logan asked lightly.
Selina froze.
This feels like a trap question.
Still, she nodded thick-skinned, “Yeah… back then, that was the case. But now it’s different!”
Logan led her forward, one step at a time.
“How is it different now?”
Selina racked her brain. “We even picked out our wedding rings… together.”
“And?” Logan asked calmly.
This little troublemaker still didn’t seem to have a real sense of being married—and Logan didn’t like that at all.
When she clashed with the Morris Family, she didn’t even think of asking him for help.
When it came to things like the wedding or the rings, she barely seemed to care.
To Logan, Selina was like a cloud—beautiful, but impossible to pin down.
At twenty-seven, he had never pursued anything without certainty—except for her.
But once Logan set his sights on something—or someone—he never let go.
He would make Selina care about their marriage.
He would make sure she understood what was truly irreplaceable in her life.
Still not opening the door, Logan left Selina feeling sour and frustrated.
Seriously, what’s his problem?
It’s not like she intentionally ditched him to pick up the rings…
Sure, she forgot… but he didn’t have to be this mad, right?
A thought flickered through Selina’s mind, but she didn’t catch it. Huffing, she stomped off to the lady’s bedroom.
She lay on the bed for a while, still puzzled about why Logan was so furious.
She pulled out her phone, thinking maybe she could ask someone for advice.
But everyone around her knew about her marriage to Logan—asking them would just make things awkward.
Which left only one option…
Selina’s gaze landed on the name “Rowan.”
She couldn’t ask anyone she knew—but she could ask a stranger online, right?
It’s not like Rowan would ever meet her in person. Even if she asked, it wouldn’t be embarrassing.
Besides, Rowan was supposedly in his forties. There’s no way Logan would be jealous of some middle-aged guy.
Feeling reassured, Selina opened her chat with Rowan and carefully typed:
[Senior Rowan, are you there?]
…
In the master bedroom.
Logan’s phone buzzed twice. He switched to his Rowan account and saw a familiar little avatar pop up with a new message:
[Senior Rowan, are you there?]
The man’s smile deepened. His fingers hovered over the keyboard for a second before he typed back a single word:
[Here.]
