Chapter 291: Do Me a Favor, Logan

“If a competition can’t even guarantee fairness, then what’s the point of entering it?”

“Selina could seduce the judges last time—what makes you think she won’t do it again?”

“We don’t want to compete with someone like that. What if she steals our spot and we don’t even know how it happened?”

“Selina, say something! Did you really seduce a judge?”

Everyone turned to look at Selina. Angelica’s eyes glinted with satisfaction.

The evidence was long gone. There was no way for Selina to prove her innocence. This was her punishment.

Ellis spoke coldly, “I’ll just be blunt—Selina, if you have any dignity left, I suggest you withdraw from this competition. As you can see, no one here wants you around.”

With that, Ellis basically confirmed everything he had just accused her of.

Selina tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, her expression calm. “Is that what you want, Mr. Lee? You want me to quit?”

Ellis snapped, “What kind of attitude is that? I let you off the hook last time, but that doesn’t mean I’ve forgiven you!”

“Oh, I see.” Selina still looked unbothered. She glanced at Angelica with a half-smile. “And what about you, Angelica? Do you want me to quit? If you say so, I’ll back out.”

Angelica’s expression froze.

No. Selina had to compete.

Only if Selina stayed in the competition could Angelica keep stealing her designs and take first place. Only then could she keep Selina under her heel, never letting her rise again.

So Selina had to stay.

Angelica forced a smile. “Mr. Lee, everyone… I believe Selina has changed. Don’t worry—I’ll personally keep an eye on her. She won’t pull anything like that again.”

Selina rested her chin on her hand, looking relaxed. “You hear that, Judge Lee?”

Ellis lost it, yelling, “I’ve never seen a contestant this arrogant! You seduced me and now you act all smug?”

Selina’s smile deepened, but her eyes turned cold.

She didn’t understand what Ellis was so angry about.

Did he not know the truth about the “seduction”? No—he knew exactly what happened.

It was Ellis and Angelica who had stolen her design and made up the seduction story to frame her.

But after two years of standing on his self-righteous pedestal, repeating the lie over and over, it had started to sound like the truth.

“Hold on. Seduced you?”

Suddenly, Luke blinked in confusion, looking Ellis up and down. “You’re saying Selina seduced you to make it to the finals?”

Ellis kept up his self-important front. “Yes. And I’d suggest you stay away from people like her, too—”

“But two years ago, my brother was a judge too. Why didn’t she seduce him instead of you?”

Luke looked genuinely puzzled, innocent, and just dumb enough to be sincere. “That’s so weird. Between my brother and you, she picked you? What could she possibly want from you? Your age? Your poor hygiene?”

“Oh—I get it now!”

Luke suddenly had an epiphany. “It’s your confidence! That’s what she was after!”

. . .

The room fell into a strange, awkward silence.

Wait—Mr. Reid was one of the judges two years ago?

If that’s true, Selina would’ve had no reason to seduce Ellis.

And if she had tried to seduce a judge, wouldn’t Logan—who was also on the panel—have known about it?

Why would he go on to marry Selina if that were true?

So there was only one explanation…

“Nonsense! Twisting facts!”

Ellis’s face kept changing colors, now pale, now flushed with anger.

“Selina was just a regular contestant back then—she never even got to meet Mr. Reid! Of course she had to come to me! Luke, you’re just being deliberately difficult. I have nothing more to say. I’m leaving!”

And with that, Ellis stormed off, refusing to take any more questions.

“Selina, that whole thing is in the past. Mr. Lee and I weren’t planning to make a fuss—why are you acting like this?”

Angelica looked like a disappointed older sister. “Forget it. I’ll find a chance to apologize to Mr. Lee for you before the competition starts.”

Joe couldn’t take it anymore. His voice was cold and firm: “Selina, please stop dragging Angelica into your messes.”

Selina honestly thought the entire Morris family needed therapy.

After the event ended and everyone was leaving, Logan stood beside her. “Mrs. Reid, I want to help you.”

The so-called “seduction” was just Ellis’s one-sided claim. But since he was a judge, no one believed Selina.

Logan could help change that.

Selina blinked, didn’t hesitate. “Alright, then help me with one small thing.”

Logan leaned in slightly. “I’m listening.”

“Angelica controls hundreds of marketing accounts. Shaping public opinion online is nothing to her. I want the Reid Group to step in and manage those accounts after everything goes down.”

Logan’s expression darkened. “That’s all you’re asking for?”

“That’s all.”

She had everything else ready.

She didn’t just want Angelica to lose the crown—she wanted her entire reputation to collapse.

She wanted every shady thing Angelica had done over the years—plagiarism, sabotage, framing others—to be exposed.

Back at Sapphire Valley Villa.

Selina’s biggest regret today was not seeing Rowan.

But that could wait—something more important was on her plate.

She copied the evidence she’d found from her computer and played it again.

Katie had bribed Ellis. Ellis had tried to coerce her, and when that failed, he turned around and accused her of seduction…

She was so absorbed, she didn’t even hear the door open.

Logan stood in the shadows—tall, unreadable. His face was hard to see. “Mrs. Reid, where did you get that evidence?”

Selina snapped back to the moment. For some reason, she sensed Logan was in a bad mood.

She swallowed. “Ellis’s assistant gave it to me.”

“When?”

“Just a few days ago…” She looked around, avoiding his eyes. “I wasn’t hiding it from you on purpose. It’s just that…”

It’s just that this could drag Angelica in. Even though Logan had backed her every step of the way, Angelica was still the one who saved his life. If Selina could handle it on her own, there was no reason to get him involved.

Before she could finish, Logan suddenly bit her lip.

Selina was furious. What the hell? Is he a dog?

Logan’s lips brushed over hers. “Then tell me—why would Ellis’s assistant hand that over to you?”

Selina cleared her throat. “Used a little trick. Took him somewhere without cameras.”

“…He asked you to go somewhere without cameras?”

Think about it—the competition was about to start, and Selina was still carrying the label of “seducing a judge.” If Ellis didn’t back off, she’d be blacklisted for sure.

So the assistant had plenty of ways to lure her out.

But Ellis and his assistant weren’t decent people. Two years ago, they’d tried to exploit her. Calling her out alone—what do you think their real intentions were? Logan had to know.

“You used a trick in a place without surveillance? And you knew there were no cameras?”

Logan took a deep breath. “So he invited you and you just went? What if he brought someone with him? What if walking into that alone was like walking into a trap?”
