Chapter 292: A Vicious Woman

Selina felt a little wronged. “Ellis was watching me like a hawk. It took everything I had just to find that one chance…”

Logan’s voice was calm but laced with restraint. “You dared go alone because you had confidence. But did it ever occur to you—if Ellis’s assistant dared to invite you, he had confidence too?”

Selina instinctively looked up.

“A man who clearly had bad intentions invited you to a park with no security cameras. You know what he was after. And you went alone, without bringing a single person with you… Mrs. Reid, should I be impressed by your bravery?”

Selina swallowed the retort she was about to make.

Logan was genuinely worried about her.

“You finally found an opening—and you couldn’t bring me with you?”

“I had everything under control. I—mmph—”

Before she could finish, Logan grabbed her chin, parted her lips, and kissed her hard—completely claiming her.

He didn’t kiss her for long.

“Selina,” he said softly, “you’re never allowed to put yourself in danger again. Got it?”

Feeling the warmth of his arms around her, Selina got a little carried away and promised, “Okay. I hear you. I swear!”

Logan gave her a faint look. “Good. Mrs. Reid, remember what you said. Because if it happens again…”

He paused, voice dropping low.

“I can’t promise what I’ll do.”

He was always a possessive man—he’d just pretended to be normal for her sake.

But if he ever lost her… Logan didn’t even want to imagine what kind of monster he’d become.

Ellis. Angelica. The ones who had humiliated her like this—he wouldn’t spare a single one.

Downstairs.

Jack and Miller Butler had already prepared dinner and were waiting for Logan and Selina to come down.

But they waited… and waited… and still no sign of them.

Logan was usually punctual. Jack frowned and was just about to head upstairs when—

“Don’t go up!”

Luke came running down, grinning with barely contained mischief. “Hey Jack, let’s just eat. I passed by my brother’s room just now and, uh… heard something… not suitable for kids. Trust me, we’re not waiting tonight!”

Jack’s mouth twitched. “…”

Luke plopped down like he owned the place. “Whatever they’re doing—it’s gonna take a while. If we wait till Logan’s done, the food’ll be cold. I mean, my brother’s strong and healthy… there’s no way he can hold back. I bet they’ll be up there for hours—”

Before he could finish, footsteps echoed from the staircase.

Logan stood at the top, looking down at Luke with a faint, amused smile.

Luke choked on his own breath, coughing so hard he nearly passed out.

“N-No way, Logan? You’re done already? Haha! W-We should eat, yeah, let’s eat!”

Oh god.

He looked so serious and composed, and that was all it took? Just a few minutes?

That was way too fast!

Thank god he didn’t finish that last sentence. If he’d bruised Logan’s ego, who knew what would’ve happened?

Luke clenched his fists. No—he had to protect his brother’s dignity. He would never speak of this to anyone. He’d rather starve, or throw himself off the balcony. This secret would go with him to the grave.

…But his nosy side couldn’t resist. He leaned in close and, in what he thought was a whisper, asked, “Selina… that fast… were you even satisfied?”

Selina’s hand slipped, her fork nearly clattering to the ground.

Logan gave her a lazy, knowing look from the side.

A moment later, Selina’s phone buzzed. Sitting right next to her, Logan had sent her a message on Twitter.

[Don’t worry. There’ll be plenty of chances for you to find out whether I’m fast… or not.]

Selina’s face turned crimson.

Why was she the one taking the fall for this? Luke was the one who misunderstood! What did this have to do with her?!

Meanwhile, at the Morris estate.

Angelica was on the phone with Ellis, giving instructions. “I don’t want Selina to make it to the finals. But more importantly, I want her reputation completely destroyed. Do you understand?”

Ellis responded with a sycophantic tone, “Don’t worry, Angelica. Pinning some fake charge on her? Easy. But… I do have one small request.”

“Go on.”

Ellis swallowed. “Let me have Selina for one night. I’ll ruin her in bed so badly Mr. Reid won’t want her anymore. We can double down on the ‘seducing me’ accusation. What do you think?”

He’d been obsessed with Selina for years.

He hadn’t gotten what he wanted two years ago—no way was he letting this chance slip by again.

“Miss Angelica, you trade Selina for a guaranteed championship. Sounds like a fair deal, right? You get the spotlight, she warms my bed.”

Angelica let out a cold, mocking laugh. “Fine. I’ll make sure she’s in your bed before you even walk in. But…”

Her voice turned vicious and twisted. “You better ruin her completely. Turn her into a woman who only knows how to please men. There are several rich businessmen lined up to take a turn. Break her in properly.”

“Heh—yes, yes, no problem. I guarantee Selina will never get out of bed again. She’ll spend the rest of her life serving men!”

——”Let me have Selina for one night…”

——”She’ll spend the rest of her life serving men!”

——”Plenty of rich men are waiting their turn…”

Line by line, the recording played into Logan’s ears.

Glass shattered in his hand.

Hunter stepped forward and stopped the playback. “Logan, want to release it publicly?”

Logan clenched his jaw, barely containing the murderous rage. “We wait for Selina’s decision.”

It was the first time he’d ever wanted someone dead.

Angelica might’ve once saved his life, but even so—he wanted her gone.

They wanted to turn his Selina, the woman he treasured, into some twisted toy for other men?

Hunter watched him silently for a few seconds, then said quietly, “Logan, you’ve really changed. Looks like Mrs. Reid is something else.”

The day before the official start of the design competition.

All contestants checked into a designated hotel.

The event would run for half a month, and all participants were required to stay on-site for its duration. The venue was completely booked out by the organizers.

As the most high-profile contestant, Angelica was surrounded by admirers the moment she arrived.

She instantly noticed people outside holding signs demanding that Selina be disqualified. A pleased smile curved her lips.

Standing before the crowd, she put on her best fake-sister act. “Even though it’s true that Selina tried to seduce a judge, I hope everyone can give her another chance.”

Her words sounded gracious, but she’d just nailed the “seducing a judge” label permanently onto Selina.

Selina gave a faint smile.

She had a lot to accomplish during this competition. Step one: clear her name of the seduction scandal.

Only once that was done could she move forward.

As for how she planned to prove it…

In the lounge, Logan played the recording of Angelica and Ellis’s call.

“Mrs. Reid, what do you want to do?”

Selina blinked, intrigued. “So… how exactly was Angelica planning to get me into Ellis’s bed?”

It’s not like she was dead. Angelica couldn’t just deliver her like a package.

Logan paused. For once, there was a trace of exasperation on his usually stoic face. “…That’s all you’re thinking about?”

“Of course not. I also—”

Knock knock knock.

Before she could finish, someone knocked on the door.
