Chapter 299: Traces of Wrongdoing
Selina said coolly, “The Clark family may be too old and blind to see through your tricks after all these years—but you think everyone here is just as brainless as they are?”

“Selina! You ungrateful brat!”

James exploded.

What was that supposed to mean? That she was mocking them for playing favorites with a mistress and not knowing right from wrong? That was a direct slap in the face to the Clark family’s dignity!

As if they wanted to take sides! Selina brought this on herself—she’s the one who went astray…

“I get it now!” Luke pushed through the crowd, yelling louder than anyone.

“The truth is right in front of us, and Katie still thinks a few tears will make people believe her? How dumb can you be?”

“But why is she so dumb? It’s simple—because the Clark family gave her that confidence!”

“For nearly twenty years, this has been her playbook: cry a little, get the Clark family on her side, and blame Selina.”

“She got away with it so many times that now it’s just routine. Frame Selina, throw the blame on her, and even when she’s the one cheating, guess who gets scolded in the end? Still Selina.”

After that, who in the room didn’t understand what was going on?

Katie got caught in bed, and still tried to drag the actual heiress down with her.

And the Clark family? Instead of blaming the cheater, they went after the innocent daughter.

What was wrong with them—could they just not live without a mistress in their lives?

“Mr. Clark, this is hard to watch. Your favoritism is out of control.”

“And Angelica too. She was raised by Katie—don’t tell me she doesn’t know what kind of person Katie really is. Yet all she does is accuse Selina over and over. Disgusting.”

Joe gave the speaker a cold glare.

The man flinched a bit—but stared right back. “What are you looking at, Chairman Morris? Am I wrong? Angelica’s the one who swore up and down Selina was seducing a man. But who actually ended up in bed with Ellis? Katie.”

“If you’re dead set on backing Angelica while she falsely accuses someone, go ahead. But if that’s your stance, then say it loud: that everyone who spoke up for Selina today is just jealous of Angelica and made it all up. Can you say that, Chairman Morris?”

And who exactly had spoken up for Selina?

Logan. Luke. Alice. Ethan. Freya. Several judges and contestants.

Were they all in on some elaborate scheme just to humiliate Angelica?

Joe knew Angelica had no leg to stand on. He pressed his lips together and stayed silent.

James felt all the stares laced with contempt. His face turned red. But he couldn’t argue back.

That wasn’t what he meant. He wasn’t trying to protect Katie. He only cared about the Clark family’s reputation!

But now… now…

Logan stood calm, but his presence was overpowering.

“Mr. Clark,” he said, “it’s time to make a decision.”

A decision? What decision?

Angelica’s mind was in chaos. Panic and rage surged through her like a tidal wave.

Katie’s heart was pounding. She suddenly burst out crying—going for one last, desperate shot.

“Selina! No matter what you say, you still can’t prove you didn’t make some kind of deal with Ellis! Two years ago, you seduced a judge—you’re a repeat offender!”

“The competition’s about to start and you’re scared you won’t do well, so you’re seducing the judges again!”

The room fell completely silent.

That… was a serious accusation.

After all, Selina did have a history. Two years ago, she was accused of seducing Ellis to make it into the finals.

What if Katie was telling the truth this time?

What if Selina was up to her old tricks again?

Katie’s eyes darted around, and she raised her voice to cover up her guilt.

“You know you’re not good enough to make it to the finals, so you had to get Ellis to give you special treatment! Selina, this isn’t slander—everyone knows exactly what happened two years ago!”

“You put all your effort into sleeping around and seducing judges. You stole someone else’s spot without lifting a finger. Doesn’t your conscience hurt?!”

Luke’s expression turned anxious.

How was he supposed to argue with that? Of course he believed Selina—but…

Wait a minute. Why was Logan so calm? His wife was the one being accused here. Shouldn’t he be furious?

“Logan, aren’t you gonna say something?!”

Logan gave him a faint glance. “Say what?”

“Say anything! Kick Katie and Angelica out, call them out for the liars they are—do something!”

Logan slowly rolled his fingers, his voice even. “All the reporters here today? They’re not here by accident. They’re here so we can finally set the record straight about what happened two years ago. No rush.”

Luke turned toward the Drake siblings. Alice shot him a look that said, Just wait, it’s about to get good. Luke was completely lost.

…Wait. Did everyone else know this was coming? Did no one actually come here to play cards last night? Was he the only one seriously playing mahjong?!

Selina raised an eyebrow. Katie was surprisingly sharp—no wonder she’d managed to last over 20 years in the Clark family. But…

“Ms. Bryant, are you sure I’m the one who stole someone else’s spot?”

“Of course! Selina, if you’ve forgotten, I’ll gladly say it all again—in front of everyone! Two years ago, you seduced Ellis to get into the finals!”

Katie spoke righteously. “You knew you’d been eliminated, so you deliberately got him drunk, stripped down in the middle of the night, and crawled into his bed! You got caught red-handed the next morning and still refused to admit it. If Ellis hadn’t come clean later, we’d have never known the truth!”

“And Angelica—your sister—do you know how hard that was on her? How heartbroken she was? She protected you and kept your scandal from going public. And this is how you repay her?”

At that moment, reporters had already started livestreaming. Katie’s words were being broadcast in real time.

Angelica’s fans jumped on it, flooding the comments and trying to use this to bury the truth about Katie’s affair.

James, eager to protect the Clark family’s reputation, ignored Grandpa Clark’s attempts to stop her and shouted:

“Katie is right! Selina grew up in the countryside—she’s uneducated and undisciplined. How could she possibly be a designer? We can’t let her keep going down this path!”

Selina rested her chin on her hand and suddenly smiled. “Dad, are you sure about that?”

James stood tall, self-righteous. “Absolutely. I told you to drop out two years ago, but you wouldn’t listen—and look what a scandal it caused! Now I’m telling you again: Selina, go home and—”

“I’m Jimmy Taylor, a judge from the 10th Design Competition. During the qualifiers, James offered me $100,000 to eliminate Selina. I’ve posted the proof on Twitter.”

James was cut off mid-sentence by a recorded voice. His face went completely pale.

Everyone instinctively turned to Selina. She waved her phone slightly, lips curved in a cool smile.

“Oh… forgot to mention. Before coming here, I reached out to a few judges and contestants—recorded some videos, too.”

At the same time—

A video hit the top of the trending list.

Alongside posts from judges and contestants sharing “evidence” on Twitter—The internet completely exploded.
