Chapter 303: Pissed Off? Do Something About It
At this point, if the kid still couldn’t figure it out, he had no one to blame but himself.
The whole Rowan identity…
Logan narrowed his eyes. It wasn’t that he couldn’t tell her, but doing so would open a can of worms.
One reason was to avoid causing Selina trouble.
The other… was that the investigation wasn’t complete yet. The fewer people who knew Rowan’s real identity, the better.
Still, it wouldn’t be long now.
A subtle hint wouldn’t hurt—better than letting her be completely blindsided later.
Selina blinked, then suddenly gasped as a realization hit her.
“You…”
Logan raised an eyebrow. Had she figured it out?
Selina said firmly, “You found out the design competition was rotten on the inside and used that to your advantage!”
The more she thought about it, the more sense it made.
The competition committee looked united on the surface, but behind the scenes it was full of backstabbing and filth. Everyone was eager to drag someone else down.
Ellis had hogged the lead judge position for years—plenty of people hated him.
If Logan offered them something in return, of course someone would bite.
Logan: “…”

Not exactly wrong.
“Mrs. Reid’s pretty sharp.”
“Of course I am. If I weren’t, how would I have seen through Katie—”
Knock knock.
Selina was cut off mid-sentence by a knock at the door, followed by Joe’s low voice from outside.
“Mr. Reid, I’d like to speak with you.”
Selina looked up instinctively.
Joe? What for?
A flash of coldness flickered in Logan’s eyes.
“If Chairman Morris has something to say, he can say it right there at the door.”
“Mr. Reid, is this how you treat your guests? I need to speak with you privately. Kindly ask Selina to step out.”
Joe’s tone was sour—he still blamed Selina for what Angelica was going through.
Logan’s expression darkened.
“Show him out.”
Selina leaned on her hand, casually spinning a finger.
“Oh, don’t be like that. If Chairman Morris has something important to say, then go ahead—I’ll take a walk.”
She opened the door and met Joe’s eyes directly.
“By the way, Mr. Morris… hospitality depends on the guest. If someone shows up uninvited and tries to kick the hostess out of her own room, that’s not a guest. That’s a freeloader.”
“But I’m easygoing, so I’ll let it slide. Go on then.”
She had her own suspicions to confirm with Angelica, and it’d be easier without Joe around.
Joe’s face twisted, but he knew he was in the wrong. He took a deep breath and said stiffly,
“Mr. Reid, then I’ll get to the point—”
…
Outside, Selina looked around.
After checking with Luke, she found out Angelica was still in her lounge. She headed straight there.
“There’s no surveillance in Angelica’s lounge, right?”
Luke was confused. “Nope. She’s always on about privacy. Not a single camera in there.”
Selina nodded calmly. “Good.”
Luke suddenly tensed up.
“You’re going to her? I’ll come with you! That woman’s unhinged—who knows what she might do. And there’s no cameras there—what if she tries to hit you? No way, I’m going with—”
He stopped short.
Selina had pulled out the hammer.
Luke stared, mildly horrified. “That thing again? Kinda tacky, but… I guess it works. Uh, what were you saying?”
He gulped and swallowed his words.
“…Never mind. Go right ahead.”
When they reached Angelica’s lounge, Selina didn’t hesitate—BAM! She kicked the door open.
Angelica jumped in shock. “What are you doing?!”
Selina looked her over from head to toe.
“Huh. Even after losing your real mom, you seem to be doing just fine. Not even a hint of grief, big sis.”
“Selina, are you here to laugh at me?!”
Angelica flew into a frenzy, charging forward with wild eyes. She raised her hand to slap Selina, shrieking, “You think I’m pathetic, don’t you?! You bitch—!”
SMACK!
The sound of a hard slap cut off Angelica mid-rant.
“Laugh at you?” Selina calmly lowered her hand and replied kindly, “No. I just came here to slap you.”
SMACK!
Another hit—this time on Angelica’s left cheek.
A sharp, stinging pain spread across her face.
Angelica was about to lose it.
How dare Selina hit her?!
“I’m the Morris family heiress! You dared lay a hand on me?! Selina, you think I’ve lost? I’m still going to win the competition! I’m still Star’s student! Who do you think you are compared to me?!”
Selina paused mid-slap, then let out a laugh.
“You’re Star’s student? Are you sure?”
“Of course!” Angelica clung to it like a drowning person to a rope. “You know Star’s status in the design world. With her backing me, you’re nothing!”
Oh… so that’s how it was.
She hadn’t mentioned being Star herself because she wanted to stay low-key.
It wasn’t to give Angelica a chance—it was just convenience.
Selina smiled sweetly and suddenly asked, “By the way, Angelica, there aren’t any cameras in here, right?”
“What are you trying to do…”
“Well,” Selina said innocently, “since you just declared you’re going to destroy me, and I’m doomed anyway, I figured I might as well return the favor.”
“No cameras, huh? That’s awfully convenient. You weren’t thinking straight, Angelica.”
“Aaah!!”
Angelica was convinced now—Selina was insane.
Just like her mother—completely unhinged!
“Let go of me! You—!”
“Angelica!”
“Selina!”
Two men’s voices rang out at once.
Logan and Joe rushed in.
Selina blinked. Huh?
What are they doing here? I’m not even finished yet.
Angelica’s eyes lit up as she cried, “Dad! Logan! Help me—!”
Logan cut her off, face darkening as he pulled Selina protectively into his arms.
“You came here alone again?! Did Angelica lay a hand on you?”
Angelica’s cries caught in her throat.
She screamed, disbelieving, “Selina hit me! She hit me! Logan, why don’t you care about me?! It’s all Selina—!”
Selina calmly fixed her hair.
“I hit you? Angelica, take a look—do you see any slap marks on your face?”
Angelica rushed to the mirror—only to stare in horror.
What—why?!
Her face was throbbing in pain, but there was not a single mark!
Joe frowned. “Selina, why are you confronting Angelica? She already apologized. If you really did hit her—”
“And if I did? So what?”
Selina turned and asked coolly, “Chairman Morris, do you think anyone would blame me if I slapped Angelica twice today?”
They wouldn’t.
After all, Katie and the Clark family had targeted Selina—for Angelica’s benefit.
Joe froze mid-step. He couldn’t say another word.
Angelica cried harder, mascara streaking her face.
“Daddy, no—it’s not like that. I just wanted to apologize to my sister—”
Joe’s expression softened. “Selina, look—”
“Have you already forgotten what I said earlier, Chairman Morris?”
Logan’s voice cut in coldly, and Joe’s face stiffened.
The sympathy in his eyes vanished, replaced by something far more complicated.
