Chapter 312: Your Life Isn’t Worth a Dime
Jack immediately went to check and returned a few minutes later.

“Sir, Madam Nelson and Miss Nancy together own twelve luxury vehicles. Also, Mr. Hunter has no assets registered under his name in the Nelson Family.”

Madam Nelson’s heart skipped a beat. “Logan…”

Logan completely ignored her, his voice calm and unbothered. “Good. Tow them here. Let my wife smash them for fun.”

Smash them for fun?!

Madam Nelson’s face changed dramatically. She blurted out, “Logan, some of those cars were brought over by Hunter—”

“But they’re not under Hunter’s name, are they?”

Logan looked at her slowly, voice still light.

“Hunter is my friend. These cars belong to others. I don’t owe them anything.”

Madam Nelson’s throat locked up. She forced a strained smile. “But Logan… no matter what, we’re still Hunter’s family. If word gets out that you’re turning on his relatives over a woman, what will people say?”

“We took Hunter in when he had nothing. You’re his friend. You wouldn’t want to hurt him—”

“Did Madam Nelson receive nothing in return for raising Hunter?”

Selina’s voice cut in smoothly.

“Hunter brought Nelson Family to new heights, expanded your business overseas, introduced you to Logan. All you gave him was a plate of food, and he returned it a thousandfold. And you still want to use him?”

“Because Logan is friends with Hunter, he has to tolerate everyone in the Nelson Family now?”

Madam Nelson fumed. “Clark, this is between me and Logan. It’s not your place to speak—”

“Not my place? Madam Nelson, I’m Mrs. Reid. Logan and I are husband and wife. His business is mine. Why can’t I speak?”

Selina’s tone sharpened.

She hated this kind of hypocrisy.

What did the Nelsons have to do with Logan anyway? Leeching off Hunter wasn’t enough—now they wanted to latch onto Logan too?

Madam Nelson took a few deep breaths, unable to understand why Selina was being so “unreasonable.”

“It’s just a few plants. Why escalate things this far? You already smashed a car, isn’t that enough? If people hear about this, what will they think of you two?”

“And why should I care what others think?”

Selina’s words were cold and clear.

“Madam Nelson keeps accusing me of being petty. But let’s talk facts.”

“Did or did not Miss Nancy drive into the backyard, ignoring Miller Butler’s warning?”

“Did or did not she knowingly destroy the garden that belongs to the lady of Sapphire Valley Villa?”

“Did or did not she act like she owns this place just because Logan is Hunter’s friend?”

Madam Nelson was trembling with rage. “You… you’re being outrageous!”

“All right then,” Selina said with a cold smile. “If I’m already being outrageous, I may as well commit to it.”

She turned to Jaxon.

“Send someone over immediately to smash those cars.”

Jaxon nodded calmly. “Yes, Madam.”

Nancy snapped.

She shrieked, her voice breaking, “Selina! You’re evil! All this over a few plants?! With Riley and Logan’s relationship, we could kill you and get away with it, and you’re losing it over—”

Her voice cut off.

Nancy’s furious expression froze.

A gun was pressed to her temple.

The cold steel made her feel like she had fallen into an ice pit.

Logan’s expression didn’t change.

He was still smiling. He didn’t even look at her.

His voice was soft, but it sent chills through everyone present.

“Miss Nelson, what was that you just said?”

“Who did you say you’d kill?”

Nancy let out a sharp scream. “Ahhh!”

What was that?! That was a gun!

Logan’s expression remained casual, as if they were discussing the weather.

“Miss Nelson said it was just a few plants. So destroying them was no big deal. But now, it sounds like my wife’s life isn’t worth much either… is that right?”

He smiled faintly.

“And if her life is worthless in your eyes… well, I suppose I feel the same about yours.”

Nancy trembled violently. A chill swept up her spine as her knees gave out and she collapsed to the ground.

“I… I…”

Madam Nelson couldn’t just watch Nancy get killed.

“Logan, you’ve misunderstood. That’s not what we meant, we just—”

“Miss Nelson,” Selina interrupted lightly, tilting her head with a curious smile. “There’s something I’ve been wondering…”

She leaned down slightly.

“Don’t the Nelsons know who Logan is? What gave you the courage to cause trouble in Sapphire Valley Villa of all places?”

She tapped her chin, feigning thoughtfulness.

“Hunter’s always been proper. He’d never allow his family to act out in his friend’s home.”

Her tone dropped.

“So if it wasn’t Hunter… then could it be—”

Selina paused, then gave a little gasp of realization.

“Riley?”

Madam Nelson paled instantly. Her face turned ghost white in an instant.

Logan’s eyes narrowed, clearly noting the reaction.

Selina casually smoothed her hair, then glanced at Nancy.

“Miss Nancy, am I right?”

Nancy knew—she absolutely could not admit it.

But…

But Riley had said those things. She remembered it all clearly now.

Before she came here, Riley had reassured her—

“Don’t worry, Nancy. Logan and I have been friends for years. No matter what mistake you make, he’ll forgive you—for me.”

“Selina? Oh, Selina’s my friend too. I just feel bad for her sometimes. She married into Sapphire Valley Villa all alone… must be so lonely.”

“She’s the lady of the house, yes, but… I think the staff might still listen to me more. Just saying, if I were the one getting ignored, I’d be sad too…”

Nancy went ice cold.

One sentence at a time, the memories clicked into place.

Riley hadn’t said anything explicitly wrong.

But everything she said had painted a picture—one where Selina had no standing, no respect, no real voice in her own home.

While Riley? Riley was close to Logan. Riley was safe. Riley was untouchable.

That’s why Nancy—knowing full well those herbs were Selina’s—had driven over them without hesitation.

Selina’s voice cut through the tension again, light but unyielding.

“Not answering, Miss Nelson?”

Madam Nelson jumped in quickly.

“Clark, this has nothing to do with Riley—Nancy’s immaturity doesn’t reflect on her cousin—”

“Madam Nelson,” Selina cut her off with icy precision, “I asked Miss Nelson. Is this how the Nelsons raise their children—interrupting when someone else is speaking?”

Selina stepped forward again, locking eyes with Nancy.

“So, Miss Nelson… before you came here, are you sure no one spoke to you?”

The gun was still pressed to Nancy’s temple.

She shook violently, and then—

Almost against her will, she blurted out, “It was Riley—!”

“Nancy? What’s going on? Logan… what’s happening here?”

A gentle, surprised voice rang out before Nancy could finish.
