Chapter 341: Left and Right Guardians
A wave of commenters, claiming to feel sorry for Angelica, swarmed Selina’s Twitter feed.

“Angelica’s going through a lot. As a fellow woman, can’t you have some compassion? She only targeted you because Katie manipulated her. Katie’s in jail now, so you two should make peace!”

“Yeah, those scumbags from the Clark family can’t touch you anymore. Can’t you just let Angelica go?”

“Selina, if Angelica loses this baby, she’ll never be able to be a mother. How can you live with that? Are you even a woman?”

“Let’s be honest, Angelica and Mr. Reid had an engagement first. You’re the one who came in between them. Now you want her baby gone? Please—you’re just the legal wife. What’s there to be smug about? Illegitimate children have inheritance rights too. Angelica is the real wife-to-be now. You should step aside.”

Selina: “…”

Had these people never gone to school? What kind of logic gymnastics were required to type that with a straight face?

The dynasty was long gone, yet here they were proudly volunteering to be someone’s concubine, as if it were noble.

Just looking at the comments was an insult to her intelligence.

She closed Twitter. There was no point arguing online—it wouldn’t solve anything. What she needed was proof.

Proof that Angelica wasn’t pregnant.

Ding ding ding.

Her phone rang.

It was an unknown number. Selina raised an eyebrow and answered.

Daniel’s voice came through.

“Selina, I assume you’ve heard. Angelica’s baby is the firstborn of the Reid family—there’s no way we’re letting it go. But considering you’re still Logan’s legal wife, I’m willing to compromise. Come to the Reid estate tomorrow and we’ll talk.”

Selina let out a soft chuckle. “And what does Chairman Reid want to ‘discuss’?”

Daniel, feigning generosity, replied, “I originally wanted you to divorce Logan immediately, but Chairman Morris asked us to speak with you first. Angelica is the Morris heiress. She needs a proper title.”

“If you want to stay with Logan, you’ll have to divorce him and stay on as a mistress. If you don’t want that, then just leave. It’s your call.”

Selina let out a cold laugh.

Oh? Should she be grateful then? Grateful that the chairman wasn’t just kicking her out but instead offering her two utterly degrading choices? How generous.

She hung up and blocked the number.

But still… she would go to the Reid estate.

“I’ll go with you.”

Selina turned to see Logan standing behind her.

“You heard that?” she asked.

“It was hard not to, with he shouting like that,” Logan said with a nod. “Selina, that child has nothing to do with me. I’ve only ever cared about you. I’ve never touched anyone else.”

Selina’s ears turned slightly red. “…”

Yeah, well… considering how thoroughly he had “expressed” himself last night, it was hard to imagine him having the energy for anyone else.

…

The next day, a Reid family car pulled up outside Sapphire Valley Villa.

The Reid family’s butler came personally. Luke found out what was happening and insisted on going with Selina—no way was he letting her go to the Reid estate alone. He climbed right into the passenger seat.

The butler’s throat tightened. “Young Master Luke, I’m here to pick up Miss Clark.”

“Miss Clark? Are you kidding me? That’s the young madam! You’ve worked for the Reid family for decades and you still don’t know that? Logan’s the young master, so his wife is the young madam!”

Luke rattled on like a machine gun. “And you called me ‘Young Master,’ didn’t you? So I can’t ride in my own family’s car now? Is that what my dad told you to say?”

The butler disliked this playboy of a young master, but he had no choice. He couldn’t exactly throw Luke out of the car.

Fortunately, Selina still came.

She carried a small purse and got straight into the car—only to find that Logan had climbed in as well.

The butler’s temple twitched. He had a bad feeling. This wasn’t what Chairman Reid had instructed. If Logan was present, it would be impossible to pressure Selina.

“Sir, the chairman only invited Miss Clark to talk…”

Logan’s gaze turned cold. “Sounds like you didn’t understand what Luke just said.”

The butler’s lips twitched. “Yes, the chairman asked me to bring the young madam back to the estate. But you…”

Logan replied evenly, “You’re overthinking. I’m not going back to see my father.”

Luke clicked his tongue. “Seriously, why are you talking so much? Logan wants to go home and needs a butler’s permission now? At the last shareholders’ meeting, wasn’t he still the head of the Reid family? What, he can’t even ride in your car anymore?”

“…Of course not. That’s not what I meant.”

The butler clenched his teeth in silence, fuming inside. Who does this unwanted “illegitimate son” think he is? But it was Logan—he didn’t dare say a word out loud. Especially not with Luke keeping an eye on him—he couldn’t even send a warning message to Daniel.

Soon, they arrived at the Reid family estate. As the butler tried to make a call, Luke tugged him back. “Where you going? You’re coming with us to see my dad.”

The butler: “…” All I wanted to do was send a heads-up. Why is this so hard?!

…

Meanwhile, in the sitting room.

Amelia frowned. “Why is there anything to even talk about with Selina? Why is Chairman Morris insisting on her opinion? What, if Selina refuses to divorce, Joe’s going to let his own daughter suffer?”

“Maybe they’re negotiating terms,” Daniel replied.

Amelia snorted. “Fine. When Selina gets here, I’ll put her in her place. She—”

“Mrs. Reid wants to put me in my place? Have me step aside for Angelica? No wonder—a mistress raised to the main seat would know all about following the process.”

Selina walked right in, cutting Amelia off. Her eyes swept the room, surprised not to see Angelica or Joe there.

Amelia was about to explode—until she saw Logan enter behind Selina. Her face dropped instantly. “What are you doing here?!”

Logan ignored her completely and walked into the room without sparing Amelia or Daniel a glance.

Daniel suddenly remembered the last shareholders’ meeting. Logan had worn that same emotionless expression—as if he weren’t looking at his father but a disposable opponent.

That look made Daniel recall the fact that he’d been beaten by his son, and fury surged inside him.

Fine. In the company, Logan held the reins—Daniel couldn’t touch him. But in this house, he was the patriarch. Logan was just his son. Disciplining him was his right!

“Logan, grown your wings now? You think you can ignore me?”

Logan paused, his tone flat. “My retinas are functioning fine. I see you just fine—no need to worry.”

Selina: “…”

Your dad’s about to blow a gasket, and I’m pretty sure that’s not what he meant.

Daniel clenched his jaw, his hand trembling. “Y-You… I only invited Selina!”

He turned on who he thought was the weaker target—Selina. “Come upstairs. I need to speak with you.”

Before Selina could move, Logan lazily lifted his eyes, a cold smile on his lips.

“If you’ve got something to say, say it here. With your reputation for messing around, I’m not comfortable letting you be alone with my wife.”

The room fell into dead silence.

Selina nearly spat out her drink. “…”
