- Chapter 77 - Chapter 77 The Little Liar Still Telling Lies
Chapter 77: The Little Liar Still Telling Lies Chapter 77: The Little Liar Still Telling Lies Selina immediately felt the surrounding air plunge into an eerie silence. She instinctively wanted to explain herself. But Jacob beat her to it.
“Miss Clark, so you’re Mrs.
Reid?
Why didn’t you mention that before?” Selina: “…” On the surface, the question seemed harmless-after all, she’d only met Mr.
Carter ten minutes ago.
Who would bring up their marital status to a stranger? Yet, upon closer reflection, it sounded as though she had deliberately hidden her marriage to get close to another man. Logan narrowed his eyes. Selina felt as though needles were prickling her back, her scalp tingling.
Deciding to ignore Jacob, she quickly addressed Logan’s earlier question. “We just exchanged a couple of words… It wasn’t particularly pleasant.” Logan replied indifferently, “Did you hear that, Mr.
Carter?” Jacob stepped back slightly, maintaining an easygoing demeanor.
“My apologies for the poor hospitality.
Miss Clark, perhaps we’ll meet again.” That final remark, “perhaps we’ll meet again,” seemed to intensify the chill in Logan’s demeanor. He grabbed Selina by the wrist and said coldly, “Goodbye.” Jacob didn’t stop them.
“Please, take care.” Selina couldn’t shake the feeling that something about the situation was off.
She wanted to ask who this Mr.
Carter really was but, seeing Logan’s dark expression, she swallowed her words for the sake of her own safety. Awkwardly, she tried to lighten the mood.
“What brings you here?
What a coincidence!” Logan lowered his gaze.
A coincidence, indeed. Mrs.
Reid had a knack for appearing wherever traces of the hacker Luna had been found-whether in BW Town or at LS Plaza. Although she always had legitimate reasons for being there, the sheer number of coincidences piling up was starting to look anything but random. Logan tested the waters casually.
“Not a coincidence.
I came to find someone.” Selina felt she should say something.
“Did you find them?” Logan narrowed his eyes, then suddenly smiled.
“I think I might have.” She swallowed nervously.
Might have?
What kind of answer was that? But seeing his mood improve slightly, she pressed on.
“Who are you looking for?” Logan’s gaze flickered.
“A little liar.” “…” Selina was puzzled.
A little liar?
Who would dare lie to Logan? Logan continued lazily, “She’s been avoiding me for years, using her flawless acting skills to fool me every time.
I’ve never managed to catch her.” “Mrs.
Reid, tell me-shouldn’t a little liar like that be punished?” Selina immediately agreed, following his lead.
“Of course!

Lying is unacceptable!” Logan’s eyes glinted.
“And how should she be punished?” Selina felt something was off but forced herself to answer.
“Uh… make her work for you?” Logan made a thoughtful sound.
Then, as if switching topics abruptly, he asked, “Mrs.
Reid, are you here covering for a classmate?” Selina was caught off guard by the sudden change in subject.
Feeling as though he was leading her by the nose, she couldn’t see anything wrong with the question and nodded. “So, this is your first time at LS Plaza?” Selina unknowingly walked deeper into his trap.
“Y-yes, it is.” Logan’s lips curled into a faint smile. Little liar, he thought, still lying. Without breaking his casual tone, he finally addressed her earlier suggestion.
“Punishing her by making her work is too lenient.
Keeping her by my side seems far more interesting.” Selina racked her brain. Why did she feel like this little liar he mentioned was a veiled reference?
But she hadn’t lied to Logan-had she? … Ten minutes later, the two of them were seated in a private room at a restaurant.
Selina couldn’t shake the feeling that a guillotine hung over her head, ready to fall at any moment. Suddenly, her phone buzzed with a notification. She glanced down and immediately froze. -Luna, we’ve got a problem.
Your phone’s been tracked.
Someone found LS Plaza. Selina frowned deeply.
My phone was tracked? Trouble. Selina’s eyes darted slightly.
“Mr.
Reid, I need to use the restroom.” Logan chuckled lightly and nodded. Once Selina left, Jack braved the oppressive atmosphere in the room.
“Sir, we’ve successfully tracked the hacker Luna’s phone.
We should have results soon.” Logan narrowed his eyes.
That worked for him.
He was curious how Mrs.
Reid would explain herself when the time came. “Also, the situation with Robert has been handled.
We’ve filed a report against him for extortion using the Carter Family’s name.
James must be having quite the headache right now.” Logan responded indifferently, “Turn up the pressure.
Robert and Avery need to pay a hefty price.
Let’s make sure the Clark Family loses a layer of skin in the process.” Jack nodded respectfully.
“Understood, sir.” Logan tapped the table lightly with his fingers before speaking again.
“What about Jacob?” “It seems to be a coincidence.
Mr.
Carter doesn’t appear to have approached Mrs.
Reid intentionally.” Logan let out a mocking laugh.
“A coincidence?” There had been far too many “coincidences” today. Jacob had just returned to the country, and Selina had coincidentally run into him. Mrs.
Reid seemed unusually interested in the Carter Family, and there was the matter of her confusing Logan’s and Jacob’s birthdays… The suspicion in Logan’s mind grew stronger. Could it be that, in the beginning, Selina’s desperate desire to marry wasn’t about *him*-but Jacob instead? Had she mistaken the person? “Sir!” Jack suddenly exclaimed.
“The tracking failed-Luna realized we were tracing her!” Logan glanced at the empty seat in front of him and chuckled softly. No wonder Mrs.
Reid, that little liar, had rushed out so quickly.
She must’ve gone to destroy evidence. … On the other side, Selina was in the restroom dismantling her phone piece by piece, destroying the chips before disposing of them. After finishing, she prepared to return to the private room. What a hassle.
Now she’d have to buy a new phone later-Â “Ah!
Are you blind?!” As Selina rounded a corner, a woman suddenly bumped into her.
Hot coffee spilled all over Selina’s body. “Hiss-” Selina winced at the burning sensation. Frowning, she was about to speak, but the woman beat her to it, launching into a tirade. “Are you insane?!
You knocked over my coffee!
Are you trying to die?
Do you have any idea how much this outfit costs?
Lick it clean!” Selina froze for a moment, then slowly looked up. The woman stood arrogantly, her expression both harsh and ugly.
“What are you staring at?
This dress is a brand-new design worth six hundred thousand.
You think you can afford to pay for it with your sugar daddy’s money?
You’re dreaming.” “Kneel down and lick it clean, and I’ll consider sparing your life!” Selina glanced at the two or three small coffee stains on the woman’s dress and almost laughed out loud in anger. She had stepped aside when she saw the woman coming, but the woman had intentionally bumped into her.
Now, not only was she being blamed, but the woman was demanding an apology? And the coffee had spilled all over Selina, yet she was the one being attacked?
What kind of logic was this? When Selina didn’t respond, the woman grew impatient. “What’s the matter?
Don’t want to kneel?
I’ve seen plenty of people like you-thinking you’re something special just because you have a sugar daddy.” “Let me tell you the truth.
I’m the eldest daughter of the Cooper Family.
Vivian, Mr.
Reid’s sister, is my friend.
Offend me, and let’s see if your sugar daddy still protects you!”
