- Chapter 84 - Chapter 84 She Is the Owner
Chapter 84: She Is the Owner Chapter 84: She Is the Owner Dylan couldn’t understand why he had just been slapped, but seeing his father arrive, he assumed reinforcements had come.
He immediately started yelling. “Dad!
You have to stand up for me!
Selina set me up!” Chairman Sanders caught Logan’s gaze and shuddered.
Without hesitation, he slapped his son again.
“You’ve caused such a mess, and you still want me to back you up?!” Turning to Selina, he adopted a completely different tone, one of utter deference. “Miss Clark, I don’t know how my son offended you, but please tell me.
I’ll make sure this disobedient fool is taught a proper lesson!” Dylan stared at his father in disbelief.
“Dad, why are you being so polite to this tramp?
You even hit me because of her?!
Don’t tell me you’re interested in her too!” Then he turned to Selina, his voice dripping with venom.
“Wow, Selina, you’ll climb into anyone’s bed, won’t you?
What a shameless-“Â “Shut your mouth!” Chairman Sanders nearly fainted from rage.
He took a deep breath, then said to Selina in a servile tone, “Miss Clark, please tell me what happened.
I’ll make sure my son apologizes to you!” Selina glanced at Dylan’s furious face and smiled faintly. “Oh, it’s nothing much,” she said lightly.
“Your son assumed I couldn’t ride a horse, so he proposed a bet.
He staked 5% of Sanders Group’s shares on it.
We raced, and he lost.” Chairman Sanders nearly choked.
“5% of the shares…” Dylan, unwilling to back down, interjected, “Dad, it was just a joke!
How was I supposed to know this tramp would refuse to let it go and insist I hand over the shares?!” Chairman Sanders’s face twitched in anger.
5% of the company’s shares?
This idiotic son of his!
But he couldn’t really let those shares go… As his mind raced for a solution, he turned to Logan, attempting to diffuse the situation.
“Mr.
Reid, perhaps we could-“Â Logan’s calm smile cut him off.
“So, your son plans to renege on his bet?
No problem.
I recall that Sanders Group has a project in collaboration with us…” “No, no, no!
That won’t do!” Chairman Sanders’s face turned ashen.
That collaboration was the lifeline of Sanders Group-a minor brand for Logan, but critical for his family’s survival. Understanding Logan’s implication instantly, Chairman Sanders spun around and kicked Dylan’s knee, forcing him down.
He followed it up with two sharp slaps to Dylan’s face before turning back to Logan, his expression full of panic. “Mr.

Reid, there’s been a misunderstanding!
I would never think of going back on my word.
I’ll call my lawyer immediately and have 5% of the shares transferred to Miss Clark!” Dylan knelt before Selina, utterly bewildered.
“Dad, what are you saying…” “Shut your mouth!” Chairman Sanders barked, clearly wishing he could disown his son on the spot.
Then he turned back to Selina, his tone ingratiating. “Miss Clark, my son is foolish and reckless.
Please be magnanimous and don’t hold a grudge against our family.
From today on, you’ll also be a shareholder in Sanders Group-wouldn’t you agree?” Selina raised her eyebrows, her gaze flicking toward Logan. She hadn’t expected him to actually force the Sanders family to hand over the shares. Caught off guard by the unexpected windfall, Selina gave a casual wave. “Alright, let’s consider this matter resolved.” Chairman Sanders finally exhaled in relief.
But before he could fully relax, he almost choked again. Dylan was livid, on the verge of losing his mind. “Dad!
Have you lost your mind?!
You’re just giving away part of our company to this country bumpkin?!
For what?!” Dylan’s voice rose to a roar.
“It was just a small bet!
Why are you taking it seriously?
She tricked me-otherwise, I never would’ve lost!” Selina spoke slowly, her tone indifferent.
“If Sanders Junior needs to blame his loss on someone else’s cleverness rather than his own poor judgment, there’s really nothing I can do.” Dylan’s face contorted in fury.
“You-“Â Before he could escalate further, Chairman Sanders roared, “Haven’t you embarrassed yourself enough?
Get out of my sight and go home!” As father and son stormed away, Selina watched their retreating backs, a faint smirk playing on her lips. “Chairman Sanders,” she called, her voice laced with amusement. Chairman Sanders froze, his back stiffening. Selina chuckled lightly.
“Sanders Junior did say one thing right-horse racing is supposed to be just for fun, a lighthearted gamble at most.
Who would’ve thought Sanders Junior would use company shares to provoke me?
Perhaps, Chairman Sanders, you should reflect on who encouraged him into this mess.” The moment her words landed, Chairman Sanders’s furious gaze shot straight to Vivian. Dylan clenched his teeth in frustration.
“Selina, this is all your fault!
Just you wait, I’ll-“Â “Idiot!” Chairman Sanders barked furiously.
“From now on, you’re forbidden to associate with Vivian.
Whatever ideas you’ve been harboring, forget them!” Turning toward Vivian with a chilling sneer, he spat, “Perry Miss, your tactics are truly impressive.
You sent my fool of a son to fight your battles, leaving yourself completely unscathed.
Consider me enlightened.” With that, he dragged Dylan away from the scene, his grip punishingly tight. Vivian’s face turned ashen, her nails digging into her palms.
Who did this Chairman Sanders think he was?
A mere leech, surviving by appeasing Reid Group! She was the Perry Family heiress, the future Mrs.
Reid.
How dare he-Â Logan’s calm voice interrupted her spiraling thoughts.
“So, you were the one who encouraged Dylan to compete against my wife?” His deliberate emphasis on my wife made Vivian’s face pale even further. Her legs wobbled as she struggled to stand upright, forcing out a voice laced with fake grievance.
“Logan, I didn’t… How could you think that of me?
It was Sanders who assumed Selina was bullying me and insisted on standing up for me…” “Perry Miss, I envy you so much.” Selina’s seemingly earnest voice rang out, breaking Vivian’s act. “I really envy your skin.
You’ve taken such good care of it-it’s so thick.” Logan: “…” Vivian instantly realized Selina was mocking her for being shameless! “You!” Vivian’s frustration boiled over.
“Logan, I didn’t even know Selina would be at the racetrack today!
Besides, Justin’s racetrack isn’t open to just anyone.
Sanders must have misunderstood Selina because he didn’t recognize her.
This really has nothing to do with me!” Tears welled up in Vivian’s eyes, painting her as the perpetual victim. Some nearby onlookers started paying attention to the scene. Selina raised an eyebrow, suddenly intrigued.
“So, Justin’s racetrack isn’t open to just anyone?” Vivian noticed the growing audience and decided to press her advantage, hoping to humiliate Selina further. “Exactly, Clark Miss,” Vivian said haughtily.
“Justin is known for being strict about who he lets in.
Even if you came in with Logan, Justin wouldn’t hesitate to have you thrown out if he didn’t approve.” She cast Selina a pitiful look.
“You grew up in the countryside, so it’s understandable you wouldn’t know Justin’s rules.
I was only trying to remind you, but instead, you’re attacking me…” “Oh…” Selina’s tone turned playful.
“So what you’re really saying, Perry Miss, is that I don’t belong here?” “If I truly came uninvited, it would be reasonable for you to have Sanders throw me out,” she added, pausing meaningfully before raising an eyebrow. “But are you sure I came uninvited, Perry Miss?” Jack, standing by Logan, assumed Selina was merely pointing out that Logan had brought her along with a proper invitation. But Logan’s sharp eyes narrowed, sensing something deeper in her words. A sense of unease washed over Vivian. Selina, however, changed the subject entirely, her tone as casual as ever.
“Perry Miss, do you know why that white horse threw you off but let me ride it for the race?” Vivian stiffened, her unease intensifying. And then, a calm male voice called out from not far away. “Because Miss Clark is the rightful owner of that horse!”
