Martial Arts Worlds - Chapter 308
Chapter 308: Power of the Mind
“It looks like Kiernan is going to attack! This is quite rare since he is famously known for his ultimate defense, which had been broken only by Johan Yeager!”
“While he is primarily a defensive-type fighter, his offensive power is of no joke!”
Chris and Luca commentated.
‘He wants to attack? That is fine for me!’
Adalric moved into a wrist-snapping stance, waiting for Kiernan’s next move.
‘Darkland Style, Wrist Snap!’
Kiernan clenched his hand into a fist and punched forward but then noticed the change in Adalric’s stance and suddenly turned his fist into a palm hand.
“Iron Style, Rock n’ Roll!”
The arm started spinning like a drill and shot towards Adalric’s chest with bone-chilling speed!
‘What?!’
Adalric tried to grab the wrist, but because of the spinning power, his hand was sent flying backwards and the hand drill smashed into his chest.
“Urgh!”
Adalric’s eyes bulged out as if they were about to pop up, and he slid through the concrete ground before coming to a stop.
There was a tight sensation on his chest, and when he looked down, he saw his ripped jersey and saw his flesh turning purple and black from the impact.
‘In just a split second, Kiernan noticed the weakness in Adalric’s technique. If he can’t grab Kiernan’s wrist, he can’t snap it and break it. Thus, he made it so that it was impossible for him to grab him; therefore, he added a spin to his move!’
Dietmar’s expression turned ugly as he understood more about Kiernan and that he wasn’t only about strength.
He had brains to help his techniques reach their full potential!
“Coach, what should he do?”
Loralei asked with a panic in her voice.
She knew that if Adalric went down like this, she also didn’t stand a chance against Kiernan, and her defeat would be quite swift!
“Uhm… Go on the offensive? No, his defense will just annihilate him. Try to defend? No, that attack alone revealed that he would get crushed.”
At that moment, the coach realized that there wasn’t really anything to do. There were no weaknesses in him!
…
Montclair High’s locker room.
“Spinning attack? Wohoo, I am so scared.”
Zachary said mockingly.
He didn’t care at all about Kiernan’s techniques. He believed that he would crush him with his muscles without any problem!
Meanwhile, the rest of Montclair High’s fighters were quite terrified of Kiernan’s prowess. It was clear that he was beyond their league!
However, they still doubted that anyone could pose a challenge to Zachary.

He was a monster, after all.
‘A worthy challenge, I guess. Zachary does need to sweat quite a bit to win, but that fool will only realize that once he gets punched a few times.’
Alabaster thought to himself and prayed that Zachary wasn’t idiotic enough to lose because of his arrogance.
…
“Darkland Style, Disappear!”
Adalric vanished into Kiernan’s blind spot and planned to throw a punch, but then Kiernan suddenly kicked in his direction and smashed his head with a powerful blow.
SPURT!
His head got blown backwards with nose bleeding like a Niagara Falls, and his teeth scattered on the ground like confetti.
‘He… saw me in his blind spot? Or does he not have a blind spot? B-But that should be impossible. His field of vision shouldn’t be that wide!’
Adalric fell to the ground and hurried back to his feet, but his body felt heavy and sluggish.
At that moment, Kiernan front-kicked him in the chest, but Adalric timely guarded against it. However, Kiernan quickly followed with an overhead punch.
“Darkland Style, Disappear!”
Adalric lunged underneath the fist and tackled towards Kiernan’s waist but was met with a knee strike to the face.
SMACK!
The crowd gasped in shock as Adalric fell backwards onto the hard, concrete ground.
‘T-that was his plan? I-I thought it was strange that he so recklessly attacked me with a front kick and a sloppy overhead punch.
‘Why overhead punch? It just gave me so much space to dodge, but this is exactly where he wanted me to be… to finish me off with a knee kick, and I fell straight into his trap.
‘Adieu, Kiernan, you showed me that you were stronger than me in every aspect…’
With that last thought, Adalric fell unconscious to the ground.
Whistle~
“It’s over! The winner is Kiernan Hunter!”
It was loud as the crowd jumped to their feet, cheering and clapping like never before.
“What a dominant showing!”
“In the end, the match looked closer than the outcome seemed, but now that I am seeing the replays through my side monitor, it was clear as day that Kiernan was always going to win that fight!”
“He truly doesn’t disappoint! It is just like last year, but it is clear that the strength of his attacks has grown to a whole new level!”
The commentators said excitedly.
“That looked so easy for him!”
Julia said excitedly and could barely contain her excitement. It felt like a dream that their school had someone so strong.
“It might’ve looked easy to the naked eye, but there were a lot of hidden strategies happening inside their minds.”
Coach Jin said.
“Adalric is a smart fighter, and if it were anyone else, they would’ve lost pretty swiftly since Kiernan would’ve crushed them with his defense.
“There wasn’t much that Adalric could do, but he escaped quite a few of Kiernan’s traps, which would’ve ended the match, but in the end, Kiernan got the better of him and emerged victorious.”
He finished with.
By his side, Julian pondered deeply and sighed heavily as he didn’t think that the fights could be so strategic.
It was a very high-level match even though Adalric’s martial arts rank was quite low—Middle Stage Martial Fighter—but he definitely had very high combat talent!
‘This is another thing that I must train in. I didn’t know that Kiernan is also such a strategic fighter, and if I were fighting against him, I would be constantly falling for his ‘traps’ without even realizing it.
‘I’ll need to also train my mind if I want to be stronger!’
