Martial Arts Worlds - Chapter 346
Chapter 346: Red Sirkus
With red leaves falling from the sky, they danced gracefully to the ground and landed softly in a colorful pile at people’s feet.
In Sirkus City, it didn’t look like it was currently wintertime, as there was no snow in sight, but there were a lot of falling red leaves from Redwood monstrous trees.
Surrounding the city, red-leaved forests stretched as far as the eye could see, and among them, Redwood trees, as wide as the skyscrapers of the city and as tall as the mountains in the distance.
With the Redwood trees, their branches, equally as big, loomed over Sirkus City, and dropped red leaves every now and then, creating a blanket of color on the ground.
It was why the ground was colored red and reminded everyone of the beauty of nature.
Planes landed outside the city, as it was dangerous to have an airport within the city, as those branches were so large and stretched so wide that they could crash into them.
Through the airport’s doors, travelers streamed in and out, stunned at the beauty of the Redwood trees.
Those trees were the reason why so many tourists visited this place in the first place, and among the travelers, a black-haired and gray-eyed young man stepped out with no luggage in hand.
It was strange since everyone else was carrying some kind of luggage, but it didn’t look like this young man had any.
“Whoah…”
Kiernan looked at the Redwood trees, and suddenly felt very small in front of nature’s wonders and beauty.
With every traveler waving to the taxi drivers, one red-colored taxi rolled into a stop right in front of Kiernan and rolled down the window.
“Yo, need a ride?”
The taxi driver asked.
‘Since when does a taxi driver himself come up with such an offer? Usually they just wait for passengers to approach them.’
Kiernan thought with slight suspicion but nodded and stepped inside the backseat.
It didn’t take long for the taxi to speed off from the airport and move into a lane that led directly to Sirkus City, which wasn’t too far from the airport.
“You’re new here, correct?”
The copper-skinned taxi driver asked as he looked at Kiernan through the front mirror.
“And what makes you think that?”
Kiernan asked as he looked out of the window towards the majestic Redwood trees, which looked like if they fell, they would crush everything underneath them.
“Your look of first time seeing Redwood trees. It always takes everyone by surprise, and those are the reasons why so many people come to this small country in the first place.
“This country is merely a tier five country, which is as low as it can get, but Sirkus City is the pride of this place.”
Kiernan nodded as he already knew that.
He was already considered a transcendent talent in New Rakuya, which was a tier four country, but in this country, he would be considered godly.
“Hey, take a look—my side business is selling these Redwood trinkets, have a look.”
The taxi driver spoke, opened his glove compartment, took out some trinkets, and then reached out to the backseat to give them to Kiernan.
Kiernan looked at the trinkets, which looked like small Redwood trees, but looked like they were made out of plastic, so they were obviously very cheap.
‘I think I have a good understanding of what he is planning to do—if I accept those trinkets, he will most likely force me to pay for them and will most likely overprice me by a lot.
‘If I don’t, he might take me straight to the police station and cook up some bullshit lie, but I am very curious, and I want to see whether my analysis is correct.

‘After all, I’ve encountered enough con men during my time in Earth’s seedy underbelly to know one when I see one, and this guy reeks of sketchiness.’
Kiernan accepted the trinket, and even though he couldn’t see the taxi driver’s face, he had a hunch that he was smiling like a fool right now.
“It’s just a keychain, made of cheap plastic.”
Kiernan said with boredom.
“That will be 2,000 gold coins—thank you for your purchase.”
The taxi driver said with a cold-looking smile.
“2,000 gold coins for this trash? You can have it back.”
Kiernan tossed it back to the front seat, but the taxi driver’s eerie smile didn’t fade, and he then opened his mouth.
“You will pay. Y’see, you already touched the keychain, so it is already used. I can’t possibly sell these used keychains to anyone else, so you’re responsible!”
“And what if I don’t pay?”
Kiernan asked.
“We don’t play around here. I have a few powerful friends I can call to make sure that you regret not paying.”
The taxi-driver said with a chilly tone.
‘Oh, so he is planning to force me to pay with violence. Tourists usually have money to spend if they come here in the first place, but if I don’t have any money, I wonder what then…
‘If he sends me to the police station and tells them I scammed them of 2,000 gold coins, that is a felony, and I’ll be sent to jail for a long time.
‘Schemes sure can be dark, but I am done pretending.’
Kiernan suddenly grabbed the taxi driver from the back of his head and smashed it against the steering wheel.
“Urgh!”
The taxi driver accidentally turned the steering wheel to the side, causing the taxi to veer off the road and crash into a nearby tree.
THUMP!
“A-ah…”
The taxi driver opened the front door and staggered out, clutching his bleeding head in pain.
“I will make you pay for this… You will be dead meat!”
He screamed hoarsely.
At that moment, Kiernan kicked the backseat’s door open, and walked out without any clear injuries on him.
“Void Slap.”
Kiernan slapped the taxi driver down to the ground, then lifted him back up, and stared directly into his frightened eyes.
“Did I look weak to you to make you think that I am easy prey? With me, there were elderly women, pregnant women, and clueless-looking men, yet you thought I was the easiest prey?”
“I…”
The taxi driver stuttered, but then Kiernan tossed him down to the ground, making sure that his exposed nape was showing.
Then, with the side of his hand, he chopped straight at his nape.
“Twisted Amnesia!”
With his eyes rolled back to his skull, the taxi driver stopped moving.
“…”
In silence, Kiernan searched the taxi thoroughly to make sure that there weren’t any cameras to show his wrongdoings.
‘I guess he didn’t want to record his blackmail either. That is fine for me, but it looks like I have a long walk ahead.’
Kiernan sighed, and leaving behind the unconscious taxi driver and wrecked taxi, he began to walk down the empty road.
