Chapter 375: Sabbath’s Call
With the black lightning descending from the ceiling, everyone put up their mental barriers, but those who were already weak in mental energy got struck and collapsed down to the ground.

It didn’t take long for only ten people to remain in the competition!

‘He still has that much strength left?!’

Dante thought in shock.

‘Attacking drains mental energy faster than defending. Every one of those black lightnings consumed mental energy, and he threw about thirty of them. It looks like that wasn’t even half his limit.’

Master Arakawa thought with a curled smile.

“Shit… How dare you attack me, choreboy?”

An enraged-looking student turned around, his eyes turned red, and his aura image of a spear-wielding demon appeared behind him.

With a screech, the demon threw its spear towards the black fortress walls but never managed to pierce through.

It just bounced off.

As if angered, the black clouds hurled a black lightning bolt towards the student and struck him directly.

It dealt a great deal of damage to his mentality, but he managed to keep up his horse stance with a grunt of pain.

“Heh~”

Gunwoo licked his lips and, at that moment, summoned his aura image, whose pressure washed across the room like a suffocating wind.

When his aura image emerged, everyone heard the revving of the engine and the screeching of the tires.

It had wheels as feet, a chest as an engine, and a head as a racing helmet. Bumblebee yellow and black stripes covered its sleek body.

“You’re finally making your move?”

Dante asked with a few sweat drops falling off his face.

“It’s the endgame, you see. It is time to take out the trash~”

With the screeching of the tires, the demon on the wheels burned rubber and then sped across the room, attacking everyone in sight.

With wide, shocked gazes, the students tried defending, but the aura image attacked too quickly and brought them down to their knees.

Screeeeeech!

The demon on the wheels laughed menacingly, turned its gaze towards the black fortress, and attacked its gates, but they stayed firmly shut.

The rubber burned, and it sped up once more, driving circles around the black fortress, making the ground around the fortress burn with towering flames.

The hellish flames danced and flickered, casting an eerie glow on the dark, impenetrable walls of the fortress.

However, the particles of the fire floated over the walls, landed inside, and started fires that quickly spread all across.

“Oh?”

Kiernan started sweating profusely and felt his mental energy quickly draining away as if someone pulled a plug from the drain.

‘Black Lightning, descend with fury!’

With a raging scream of the clouds, the black lightning bolts descended towards the demon on the wheels, but it moved too quickly to be struck.

The black lightning happened to land on a couple of the students, who collapsed down to their knees, and when the lightning storm ended, the demon on the wheels stopped close to Gunwoo.

The instructors watched with rounded eyes and saw that there were only four people left in the competition—Dante, Aoi, Gunwoo, and Kiernan!

‘That should be enough…’

Kiernan chuckled and suddenly stood up, leaving the horse stance.

“?!”

“?!”

“?!”

Everyone looked over in shock as Kiernan just forfeited the competition. It looked like he had way more in store to keep going!

“Ah, I sure am exhausted.”

Kiernan rubbed his legs, and with shrugged shoulders, headed towards the upstairs, where the rest of the disqualified students went to.

‘He gave up? Is he more exhausted than he seems? It doesn’t look like he is…’

Dante frowned.

‘As expected of my mighty self. My aura image must’ve drained him of his mental energy that he couldn’t keep going!’

Gunwoo smugly thought to himself.

“…”

Aoi stayed silent.

“Why did you do that?”

Master Arakawa asked with interlocked fingers, not looking very pleased at what Kiernan just did.

“I am exhausted. I cannot continue.”

Kiernan said, shrugged his shoulders, and moved past him upstairs, shortly later disappearing into his room.

Master Arakawa shook his head.

The competition heated up between Dante and Gunwoo—they unleashed their aura images and fought fiercely against each other.

However, five minutes later, both exhausted their mental energy and collapsed on their knees at the same time.

It was a draw between the two.

“The winner is Arakawa Aoi!”

Goto Yori shouted with a wry smile.

It was clear that Dante and Gunwoo only wanted to defeat each other while forgetting that there was a third person in the competition left.

“…”

Aoi looked indifferent and headed away for her room while the two young men bickered on, calling each other idiots and losers.

…

Somewhere in the world.

Sitting on top of a chained pillar, Sabbath pulled out his phone, dialed his student, and then pressed it against his ear.

The call soon connected.

“Master?”

Kiernan’s voice came from the other side of the phone.

“Yo, how have you been? I heard you left Irio.”

Sabbath said.

“Mm, traveling, and shit. What about you? You left a couple of months ago. Where are you at now?”

Kiernan asked.

“Visiting Bulwark. I am hoping to find out more about Alabaster.”

“Oh?”

“Well… stay safe. Don’t forget to use Martial Order’s information as help. You’ve not been very active there, but that is understandable as you’re only student-ranked, and you’re limited on what you can ask.”

“Hmm, I understand, master. I will keep that in mind.”

“Good…”

Sabbath said, ended the phone call, and pocketed it.

“Are you done now, Sabbath? You got your final phone call.”

A voice sounded in front of him, and as Sabbath turned his gaze over to them, he saw a couple dozen Bulwarkians standing in front of him, all armed.

At the front of them, Sacrael glared at him with a look of pure hatred.

“Haha. I sure never expected to meet the real Alabaster here. I guess it was pretty easy to find out when the pillar-wielding man arrived on your small island, aye?”

“Bulwarkians are very close, and I’ve made a small request for them to inform me if a man of your description ever arrives here.

“You should’ve never come here. Big. Fucking. Mistake.”

“Yawn~”

Sabbath let out a ground-shaking yawn, hopped off his pillar, and lifted it up from its chains with a smile on his face.

“Let’s get this over with.”
