Martial Arts Worlds - Chapter 377
Chapter 377: Guard Angel
Noah looked at his wristwatch—the time ticked down, and soon it turned ten at night—the silent hour had begun.
Sitting on his bed, Mina and Thiago wrapped their hands with the white tape, tightening them tightly.
“…”
By the window, dark-haired beauty Ariana sat quietly, watching the glorious moon take its sole place as the king of the skies.
“The silent hour has started—are you ready to leave?”
Noah asked.
“Yes.”
Mina and Thiago said.
“Ariana?”
Noah turned to look at the dark-haired beauty, a slight pink hue spreading across his cheeks as he looked at his crush.
“Yes…”
Ariana said and turned away from the window, a tightly lipped look on her face. It was almost like she didn’t know how to smile.
While keeping the sounds of their footsteps at a minimum, they left Noah’s room, went all the way downstairs, and out the back door into the garden.
With the help of the garden tree, they jumped over the wall and sprinted through the Dusk Town until they arrived at the first steps of Angel Forest.
It was a short walk until they arrived at the entrance of a cave—it was strangely blocked by a wooden door, but it wasn’t locked in any way, as if its only purpose was to block off the wind.
With a simple push of the door, they entered the cave and walked in absolute darkness until they arrived in a spacious chamber.
The ceiling of the chamber was high, the width of the room was vast, and the air was thick with a smell of rain.
At the end of the chamber, a statue about three meters tall stood rooted on the ground, blocking the entrance to another door that was made out of stainless steel.
“Guard Angel…”
Noah whispered, felt his throat turn slightly dry, and his heart began to race.
“This isn’t the first time we’re facing Guard Angel. Calm yourself down, and let’s do exactly what we planned.”
Ariana spoke with a voice of reason, and when they heard her, they nodded and slowly calmed themselves down.
However, at that moment, more footsteps came from where they came, and when they turned around, their expressions turned ugly.
“Look what we have here…”
Arturo, wearing a white and blue jersey of Ghoul Dojo, walked into the open-aired chamber with a few of his friends.
The atmosphere immediately turned tense.
“Ghoul Dojo… Go wherever you came from. We were here first!”
Noah shouted.
“You were here first? Oh, you. You should know that does not matter. I am here now, and I order you to leave.”
Arturo said with a smirk, and his friends cracked their knuckles in intimidation.

“W-we’ve four, and you only have three—we have an advantage in numbers, so if you want to fight, it won’t end well for you!”
Noah screamed.
“Numbers advantage? Do you think it matters? Don’t you know who I am? I am Arturo Zaccaria, and I am part of Ghoul’s Seven.”
Arturo said haughtily.
‘Ghoul’s Seven?! It means that he will participate in the tournament of the dojos!’
Noah’s eyes shook in fear.
It wasn’t that they were weak or anything like that, but they weren’t at the level of participating in the tournament just yet.
Therefore, Arturo was on a completely different level compared to them!
“Noah… We should try another day.”
Ariana said.
“Shit… fine.”
Noah felt humiliated, but still, he swallowed his pride and left with his friends, but they could feel Arturo’s and his friends’ gaze of mockery following them all the way to the wooden door.
“Yokai Dojo… They sure are pathetic. Are they even decent enough to be considered as one of the top four dojos in Dusk Town? If it were me, they shouldn’t even participate in the tournament!”
Damone said with a scoff.
“Every dojo has their own weaklings—while Yokai Dojo has the lowest average strength compared to other dojos, they have three monsters in their rank that are easily strong enough to participate in the tournament.”
Arturo said.
“…”
His friends stayed quiet as they rarely heard Arturo complimenting others, but it only told about the strength of those three monsters.
“Now that’s dealt with… Let’s go.”
Arturo gazed at Guard Angel with slight fear and slowly approached it with his friends.
When he arrived close enough, the stone statue suddenly stomped on the ground, and its eyes turned back to life.
At that moment, the statue turned its gaze down to the three young men and opened its stone lips, speaking as if it were just a human.
“Arturo Zaccaria, Damone Verde, and Maso Palladino—you’ve trespassed in my domain, and I shall give you five seconds to leave.”
“Yeah, yeah, I’ve heard that a thousand times!”
Arturo moved into his battle stance, and his friends followed suit—sweat dripped down their foreheads.
“Zero…”
The statue’s rest of the body came back to life, and it then lunged at the three young men with a deafening screech.
“Maso!”
Arturo screamed.
Muscle beast, Maso lunged forward, appearing in the path of the statue’s fist, and crossed his arms in front of his body.
The punch landed against his arms and pushed him back, but with a grit of his teeth, Maso kept his ground.
Arturo jumped over Maso and rained punches across the statue’s face, trying to punch through the stone shell, but the statue stood strong, unfazed by the assault.
“Ghoul Style, Reaping of the Steel!”
Damone whipped his leg across the air and kicked the statue on the knee, right in the junction between the thigh and the calf.
It would’ve been enough to break an ordinary human’s leg in half, but the statue looked unfazed, as it was made of solid stone.
Instead, it was Damone that seemed to get hurt more as his expression turned uncomfortable.
While the fight raged on, hiding in a platform close to the ceiling, Kiernan watched silently at the fight.
‘I followed Noah and the rest here, but I didn’t expect to come across such a scene—that’s why people have been here every night.
‘They’re here to fight against that statue and get through that door, but what is behind that door, I wonder…’
