Martial Arts Worlds - Chapter 417
Chapter 417: Miscalculation
With the winds of the night sweeping through the temple’s grounds, bringing some of the sand with it, the sound of drumming echoed into the starry sky.
Those watching from the town below the hill gazed towards the temple, and whenever they heard the sound of the gong, they knew that another match was happening.
“I wonder who is fighting whom.”
“I wish we could spectate, but it is understandable that the temple’s grounds are for chosen ones and not for outsiders.”
“We’ll find the winner tomorrow morning…”
Within the grounds of the temple, at the battle sand, Kourosh charged at his opponent with his left arm acting as a shield.
Jun kicked up the sand, clouding Kourosh’s vision, and while he wasn’t seeing properly, he jabbed the front of his feet into Kourosh’s ribs as hard as he could.
“Urgh!”
Kourosh held his bruised ribs, gritting his teeth in pain, and swung his arm towards Jun, but he ducked under the punch and countered with a swift kick to Kourosh’s stomach.
SMACK! THWACK!
Kourosh’s face turned white as a sheet, his eyes wide with shock, with the pain turning his blood cold.
At that moment, Jun jumped off the sand and stomped his feet down at Kourosh’s face, but he quickly shielded himself with his arms.
“Yokai Style, Oni Fumi Suprema!”
Smack! Smack! Smacks!
The kicks kept raining down at Kourosh’s arms, but he looked deadly silent behind his guard, and his eyes were fixed on Jun’s every move.
At that moment, as Jun reeled back his leg, Kourosh jumped forward from behind his guard, grabbed Jun from his loose shirt, and threw him down to the ground.
Splash~
The sand went flying in all directions.
“Shit…”
Jun groaned in pain.
Kourosh then grabbed his shirt again, lifted him up in the air, and looked straight into his fearful eyes.
“You’re light.”
He said with an almost mocking tone.
At that moment, Jun pivoted his leg, and despite them being in such a close range, his leg met Kourosh’s face with a powerful kick.
SMACK!
The kick pushed Kourosh’s head to the side and made his neck muscles stretch to their limits, and it almost looked like his head was going to snap off.
“You…”
Kourosh screamed and drove his punch straight at Jun’s chest, making everyone’s eyes widen in shock, as that looked like the final blow.
However, at the moment of the impact, Jun smashed his elbow down at Kourosh’s wrist, dispersing the energy of his punch, but it still sent him flying back.
“ARGH!”

Jun smashed into the ground, rolled back for a few meters before coming to a stop, and with a fist-sized bruise on his chest, he barely stumbled back to his feet.
Then, he turned his gaze back to Kourosh, who stood still with a face of pain and a broken hand dangling beside his body.
“When Kourosh punched, Jun broke his wrist with the elbow slam. A dangerous, yet masterfully executed.”
Kiernan said out loud.
“I didn’t know that Jun was capable of doing such a move!”
Aoi cried out in surprise.
It seemed like Jun was far from being a mere kicker and had much more in store!
“Jun…”
Fiona whispered after finally putting a stop to her bleeding, and when she looked at Jun, her pupils almost turned into hearts.
It was a wonderful showing!
Within the Ghoul Dojo’s area, the rest of the chosen warriors watched the match with some laughing and some shaking their heads.
“A broken wrist. It isn’t looking good~”
Leon said with a laugh.
“Kourosh~ Kourosh~ That’s what you get for being dumb~”
Arturo chuckled.
“The match is not over yet.”
Koa called out.
“Yeah, not over yet, but… It isn’t looking good~”
Callum said with a laugh.
“…”
Hugo stayed quiet.
At that moment, the match resumed, and Jun made his first move as he now had the upper hand, and he didn’t want the match to become an endurance contest.
He doubted he would be able to handle Kourosh even with his one arm if it came down to that.
Therefore.
He launched an all-out attack, hoping to end the match quickly, and his kicks became faster and more aggressive with each passing moment.
Kourosh blocked the kicks with his only remaining arm, but he knew that he was at a disadvantage and needed to come up with a different strategy to win.
One kick went past his guard and smashed him in the chest, but he just tanked it with a grunt of pain and swung his fist at Jun.
Jun ducked under the punch and delivered a powerful uppercut to Kourosh’s jaw, making him almost levitate off the ground.
Jun followed with a kick to his knee, then a punch to the face, and finished his combo with a roundhouse kick to the neck.
SMACK! THWACK! SMACK!
Constantly barraging Kourosh with a flurry of strikes.
This was already second hard hit on his neck area, and Kourosh could feel his neck muscles beginning to tighten up.
It started to hurt to even move his head around.
Kouroush reached towards Jun’s loose shirt, but he kept his distance and instead opted to kick from a distance.
Those kicks landed with precision and power, leaving Kourosh struggling to keep up with Jun’s speed.
‘I just need to grab him once. I know what I am going to do!
At that moment, Kourosh’s back collided with the temple’s rock walls, and there was nowhere left to run!
Seeing his opportunity, Jun leapt forward with lightning speed and kicked Kourosh in the chest, but then a broken hand shot out and grabbed Jun’s ankle.
“Argh!”
Kourosh screamed in pain as he squeezed his broken hand around Jun’s ankle.
‘He is using his broken hand?! I didn’t think he could do that!’
Jun immediately started panicking as he realized he had done a miscalculation!
With his free hand, Kourosh grabbed Jun by his face and smashed it into the wall with a sickening thud.
“Argh!”
Kourosh ran Jun’s face across the rough surface of the temple’s wall, leaving behind a trail of blood, and a sickening crunch reverberated through the temple.
“Jun!”
“Oh my god!”
