Chapter 432: Secret Abilities
Leon shook off the pain, wiped the blood off his nose, and straightened his back before throwing several quick jabs at Aoi.

He didn’t care if none of them landed, as he had only one goal behind those punches—keep punching so that Aoi had to retreat off the roof!

However.

She stopped dodging, stopped his jabs with her gravity touches, and then flipped over before wrapping her legs around his neck, and with a swift movement, she threw him off the roof instead.

“?!”

Leon’s eyes shook, and he crossed his arms in front of his chest, which wouldn’t do anything, and smashed into the sandy ground below.

His back landed on the sand first, and the impact sent a sharp pain through his body, but he swallowed any cries and jumped back to his feet.

At that moment, he saw a shadow fall over him, and when he looked up, he saw Aoi falling towards him with a graceful twist in the air.

She kicked him in the face and sent him flying through the air. It sent him crashing to the sand with a loud thud.

Leon’s face was throbbing with pain as he struggled to get up, and his beautiful hair was now a tangled mess of sand and sweat.

It earned few laughs from the crowd, which made the pain in his face worsen.

‘Easy for them to laugh. None of them were chosen to compete in the competition, so they got nothing else to do than stand around and think they can do better!

‘The truth is, if any of those weaklings were fighting in my stead, they would already be down on the ground with a bloody nose and busted lip!’

Leon stood back up, shook the sand off his hair, and then slowly made his way down to Aoi with his arms ready for another round of punching.

“I applaud you for pushing me this far. The blood of Arakawa runs strong in you, but in the end, you’re still just a fragile woman.”

Leon said, clenched his right hand into a fist, and shot forward another lion-headed punch towards her.

The lion jumped out of his fist, and with a majestic roar, lunged straight towards the innocent-faced Aoi.

She slapped her hands together, closed her eyes, and activated her aura force field.

The force field deflected the lion’s attack, sending him flying backwards, but at that moment, Leon lunged at her with a black smoking fist.

Aoi’s eyes shot wide open in surprise.

“Leon realized the weakness in Aoi’s force field even though she only used it once!”

Dante cried out loud.

“When she uses her force field, she must concentrate on it a lot, which is why she closes her eyes to remove any distraction.

“To close your eyes in a match like that is a double-edged sword. Leon realized that she has to do that and leaves her vulnerable.

“Thus, he used the lion as bait, forcing her to use the force field, and then attacks her while she has her eyes closed.”

Kiernan said with a serious look on his face.

“And… that’s checkmate.”

Master Arakawa said with a smile.

Kiernan and Dante looked at him in shock.

Leon’s punch went straight through Aoi’s face, but her body evaporated like a steam cloud and made a hissing sound as it dissipated.

Leon’s eyes widened in shock.

At that moment, a hand touched his back, and when he turned his head around, he saw Aoi standing behind him with a smile on her face.

“You’re not the only one who can use Aura Fusion—checkmate.”

Aoi pressed her hand on his back, sent a surge of energy through his body, and everything went black.

With his eyes rolling back to his skull, he collapsed on the ground and stopped moving altogether.

“What?!”

“What in the world happened?”

“How did Aoi disappear and then appear behind Leon? I don’t understand what the hell just happened!”

The crowd uproared.

“What… she can use Aura Fusion?”

Kiernan asked in shock, as this was something that Aoi never told him, but seeing her cheeky expression, he realized that she wanted to keep it a secret.

It wasn’t because she didn’t trust him to keep a secret, but she liked seeing his surprised expression.

“Aura Force Field is not the only thing she has. When she used it, she cloaked herself invisible using her aura—Aura Invisibility.

“However, while doing so, she left a clone of herself to trap Leon—a clone made out of Aura Fusion that Aoi had been secretly developing.”

Master Arakawa said with a smile and shook his head in disbelief, as he didn’t know that his granddaughter had reached such a level.

“That invisibility didn’t trick you. You were able to see whatever she was doing, weren’t you? That’s why you said checkmate.”

Kiernan asked.

“Of course. I am Martial King. I can see through things such as her aura invisibility, but to the people of Martial Master rank, they couldn’t see anything that was wrong.”

Master Arakawa said.

“Except the footprints on the sand, but Leon had no idea that she was using something like that because of the Aura Fusion clone.”

Kiernan said out loud.

“She really thought far, didn’t she?”

“Indeed she did.”

With the look of disbelief appearing in the faces of Ghoul Dojo’s student and master, they realized that the unbelievable possibility came to be.

“The match is over—Arakawa Aoi is victorious!”

“The first match goes to Yokai Style, and they shall advance to the finals!”

The temple priest’s words reverberated throughout the air.

Cheers filled the Yokai Dojo’s stands, and students hugged each other with tears running down their cheeks.

They were very close to repeating last year’s failure, and that was unacceptable!

Aoi hopped back to them and hugged her grandfather, who nodded with a proud smile and wanted to hug her back, but he had to look like the master, so he held back.

She then moved to Kiernan and wrapped her arms around him, giving him a tight squeeze, but she soon noticed that the pain in her arms resurfaced.

She had been fighting under so much adrenaline that she forgot about her broken arms!

“Ouch…”

Aoi looked at her trembling arms and bit her lip with pain washing over her suddenly like a tidal wave.

“We should get going.”

Master Arakawa said.

“Are we not going to watch the other match?”

Dante asked.

“It’ll be recorded, and you all shall watch it to know as much about opponents as possible, but the final will be held tomorrow, and I need you all well rested.”

Master Arakawa said.

After he was done saying that, the students started dispersing and leaving through the gates that were opened by the temple guards.

“By the way, Master Arakawa. Aoi won’t be able to use her invisibility and force field as effectively tomorrow in the finals. Everyone already knows about her abilities, and they will be prepared to counter them.”

Kiernan said.

“I know. We’ll deal with that once we get there. We most likely will change the fighter order as well.”

Master Arakawa said.
