Martial Arts Worlds - Chapter 442
Chapter 442: A Rare Honor
“D-d-d-d-d-damn!”
A shaky-voiced young man smacked his fists against his knees and looked ahead as Dante was taken away in a stretcher.
He was nothing but an ordinary student in Yokai Dojo but had a great opportunity to come to watch the conclusion of the martial arts festival.
A victory—a seemingly distant dream—was right at their fingertips, and if they won, they would be crowned as the strongest dojo of Dusk Town.
A rare honor.
Even though the martial arts festival was held yearly, the title of strongest dojo was highly coveted, as being part of the strongest dojo brought them some benefits.
Dusk Town was the strongest town of Grendoria and was even mighty enough to rival the capital city in terms of martial arts prowess.
The government, and many eyes, always lingered in Dusk Town’s direction—those of the strongest dojos might be able to receive special invitations and privileges.
While there were some that didn’t care much about all that, many also saw it as a great honor and opportunity.
At that moment, when the young man saw that another point was added to Wraith Dojo’s scoreboard, his heart dropped to the bottom of his stomach.
‘Is it really impossible to win? Dante got absolutely destroyed, and Cian isn’t even the strongest person from Wraith Dojo!’
He gritted his teeth with frustration, but whenever he looked at their chosen fighters, he had no idea who could be able to defeat them.
They were three victories away from winning the match, but winning even one more fight seemed impossible.
People around him whispered:
“Dante got annihilated…”
“How can we win?”
“This is so unfair—Wraith Dojo’s students must’ve taken Power Drugs or something, as they were never this strong a year ago!”
With whispers sounding, Master Arakawa walked over to the temple priest and saw Master Raju’s smiling expression.
If his expression could be put into words, it would say, “You really think you had a chance? Fool!”
“Tails!”
Master Raju shouted with a smirk.
The temple priest flicked the gold coin into the air, and when he caught it, it showed heads.
Master Raju’s smirk turned into a frown.
“Master Raju lost the coin toss—he will choose the fighter first.”
The temple priest said.
With a nod, Master Arakawa returned to his students while Master Raju turned and walked towards the fighters, already contemplating his choice.
Backs straight and heads held high, the remaining fighters of Wraith Dojo looked very relaxed as they awaited his decision.
Their mood was very good right now.
However, it didn’t seem like that since the students sitting behind them all looked joyless. It would seem like they were losing.
Even if they felt happy about winning the match deep inside, they were unable to display such emotions, as the state of Overtrained Syndrome was taking a toll on them.

“Rein. You’re up.”
Master Raju said.
Standing up, Rein dropped his yukata down to the ground and slowly made his way through the sandy ground.
His strong jaw looked angled in determination, and then slowly, he came to a halt in the center of the battle sand.
“It’s Rein Schneider. This is his first time fighting in this year’s martial arts festival!”
“I think I remember seeing him last year with Wraith Dojo. Of course, he wasn’t fighting, but back then, he was very scrawny and short.
“Now he is tall! Is he about two meters tall? It looks like he had grown ten years in just a span of one year!”
“I don’t know what the hell they fed him, but dude looks like a fucking unit!”
The crowd shouted among themselves as excitement grew about Rein Schneider, as they were excited to see how strong he was.
‘Rein Schneider. Information about him is lacking.’
Master Arakawa thought to himself and then turned to look at his remaining fighters, who were exchanging glances.
‘It is probably my turn, right? This is the worst moment for me to fight, as if I lose, we’re again in the same shitty situation as against Ghoul Dojo.’
Jun thought to himself with a frown.
He lost his first match, and he knew that Rein Schneider was on a completely different level compared to Kourosh Bahrami.
“Gunwoo. Your turn.”
Master Arakawa said.
Wide-eyed, Gunwoo rose to his feet and sensed the uncertainty among the students, as this was one of the most important fights, and he happened to lose his first match.
‘Remember the mistakes I made last match. If I hadn’t been so foolish, I could’ve won, but this time around, I’ll be smarter!’
Gunwoo frowned and made his way to the center of the battle sand.
“Hmm~”
The temple priest pocketed his gold coin, closed his eyes, and everyone turned to look at him with raised eyebrows.
“Rein Schneider vs. Gunwoo Park!”
The temple priest shot his eyes open and swung his arm down.
“FIGHT!”
Swoosh!
Rein placed his muscular forearm in front of his face as he expected Gunwoo to rush in with his super speed.
However, against all odds, Gunwoo just took a simple striking stance and jumped at him, in regular speed, before throwing a couple of jabs.
Smack! Smack!
Those jabs landed at his guard, but it didn’t even make him flinch. Instead, it felt slightly ticklish to him.
There was no weight behind the jabs.
“Hmph!”
Rein forced his guard and pushed him back with a strong punch.
Gunwoo blocked the punch, but it still sent him sliding through the sand with his feet desperately trying to regain traction.
‘Ouch. His punches sure hurt, but they are not as strong as Dante’s punches!’
Gunwoo thought to himself.
At that moment, Rein rushed in and threw an overhead punch that was wide but powerful.
However, it wasn’t a very fast punch, and for someone like Gunwoo, it was child’s play to dodge something like that.
Gunwoo was ready to do a last-second dodge, but then Rein halted his punch suddenly and lunged towards his legs with a sudden tackle!
It all happened very quickly. Gunwoo was caught off guard.
