Chapter 443: Feint Fighter
Gunwoo jumped backwards, but Rein extended his arms, wrapped them around Gunwoo’s knees, and lifted him effortlessly off the ground.

“?!”

Gunwoo’s eyes widened in a panic, and at that moment, Rein pulled him close into a tight hug that cracked his back and caused Gunwoo to let out a yelp of surprise.

“Gehram Style, Bear Hug!”

Rein shouted with an ugly laugh as he squeezed Gunwoo tightly. So tight that Gunwoo thought that his body might snap in two like a twig.

“Zahahaha!”

Master Raju laughed, watching Rein’s brutal attack with a sinister grin, and then said.

“Rein is from the small country of Gehram, which is a land of ore miners, and so they’re known for their incredible strength and endurance.

“However, Rein was a different type of child—an anomaly—while his peers had already become strong and tall, he stayed scrawny and weak.

“Not sure what to do with him, his parents sent him here to toughen him up and build his character.

“It even took us a long while for him to show any sign of progress, but once he started, there was no stopping him.

“It’s like he has infinite growth!”

Master Raju grinned.

“If my dojo had stayed the same like before, it would’ve taken him another ten years for his true potential to reveal itself.

“Overtrained? So what! It helped Rein’s amazing potential to bloom like the most beautiful flower in the world, and that is because of me!”

His students listened to his words in silence, and for a good portion of last year, they’ve hated Master Raju with passion.

It was because their time in the dojo suddenly changed into a horrible nightmare that they couldn’t escape.

Most of them wanted to quit the dojo, as the training had become too much, but their desire for strength was stronger.

Wraith Dojo used to have over two hundred students, but that number went down till there were only about thirty of them.

Everyone else quit.

Some were smart for quitting, as they were at risk of Overtraining, but there were also some that could’ve survived the training if they had pushed through.

In the end, Master Raju was glad how things worked out—his seven chosen fighters were the strongest students he ever had!

“Aaaaaaaargh!”

Gunwoo screamed in pain as Rein’s bear hug crushed his back, and he tried to escape, but he was no match for Rein’s strength.

In this position, he couldn’t even use his speed or do anything pretty much!

“I can feel it, man. If I squeezed a little bit tighter, I would crush your spine. You wouldn’t want that, now would you? So, why don’t you quit, huh?”

Rein asked with a grin.

“It’s bad!”

“There is nothing Gunwoo can do at this position!”

“Shit, it’s fucking over!”

“Aaaargh!”

Gunwoo gritted his teeth, pulled his head back suddenly, and headbutted Rein straight in the face with his tough forehead, landing on his nose.

Spurt!

Rein stumbled back with a bleeding nose, loosened the hold on Gunwoo for a moment, but that was enough for him to instantly slither out of his hold.

Gunwoo immediately retreated to a safe distance, panting heavily and glaring at Rein with a look of determination in his eyes.

“You broke my nose.”

Rein said, then grabbed his nose, and blood started pouring out of it.

“It’s no matter. Eye for an eye. Nose for a nose. You know the saying.”

Rein cracked his knuckles, then immediately rushed in, and like before, he lunged towards Gunwoo’s legs for a tackle.

Gunwoo readied to dodge, but at that moment, Rein stopped his tackle and suddenly punched over his shoulder, landing a direct hit on Gunwoo’s jaw.

SMACK!

“?!”

Gunwoo’s eyes shook as his brain rattled inside his head, and he lost his balance for a moment, but as soon as he landed on the sandy ground, he jumped back to his feet and distanced himself from Rein.

However.

Rein chased after him and tried to grab him, but as Gunwoo dodged his grabbing hand, he followed with a swift punch to Gunwoo’s face.

Gunwoo used his speed to dodge it and landed a powerful kick to Rein’s stomach, sending him reeling backwards.

“Argh!”

Rein gritted his teeth in pain and stomped towards Gunwoo’s feet to crush them so he wouldn’t be able to use his speed, but Gunwoo anticipated the move and jumped out of the way just in time.

‘I’m starting to understand Rein’s fighting style—he is a Feint Fighter!’

Gunwoo thought to himself and escaped Rein’s clutches while trying to get his thoughts in order.

‘Feint Fighters. They use feints to trick their opponents and catch them off guard. That’s exactly what Rein has been using all the time.

‘Whenever he attacks me, he starts with a feint and then follows up with a real strike. It’s sometimes as simple as him pretending to strike low and then actually attacking high.

‘This is where the problem lies.

‘I can’t always assume that his first attack will be a feint. There will come a time when his first attack will be real, so I must always get ‘tricked’ by his feint and be prepared for either possibility.’

Rein closed in with a lunge and lifted his right leg as if he was about to throw a kick, but he suddenly switched to a spinning backfist instead.

“Yokai Style, Speed Fist!”

Gunwoo blitzed past Rein, landed a quick jab at his temple, and Rein stumbled back with a dazed look in his eyes.

“Hah… Finally used your real speed, huh?”

Rein said aloud and turned around to face Gunwoo’s eyes.

“My real speed? Hardly. This sand is slowing me down more than I’d like, but if you dare, mind following me for a while?”

Gunwoo said, turned around, and started walking away to the surprise of many, but then they realized where he was going.

He walked through the broken wall and headed into the dark forest. With the sand gone from below his feet, he could already feel himself being faster.

“You are stronger in the forest as there isn’t sand to hinder your speed. Why would I follow you there? It isn’t wise.”

Rein said.

Gunwoo stopped by the forest, turned around to look at Rein, and said.

“You will easily defeat me in the sand. Do you want an easy victory or a victory that you can be proud of? You can show everyone how amazing Rein Schneider is.

“In the end, it is your choice, but I will not step back into that sand for the duration of this match.”

Gunwoo said and walked into the forest.

“Hah…”

Rein moved his tongue inside his mouth and looked at Master Raju, who was standing on the sidelines with a tight-lipped look.

‘If I don’t go, I’ll make Wraith Dojo look weak. It’s unacceptable, and Master Raju will punish me if I do so.’

Rein chuckled to himself.

“Well played, Gunwoo. You gave me no choice.”

He said aloud, and then, followed Gunwoo into the forest with every spectator following after them with excitement in their eyes.
