Chapter 108: Ch 108: I have a plan
Fey pretended to be angry at the puppy. But in the face of Rika’s puppy’s ultimate cuteness, she gave in and joined the dark side soon enough.

“Ahhh, I cannot! I cannot win against such cuteness. Look at those eyes, that fur, that nose! How can you remain angry after witnessing such perfection? Rika, I have a proposal to make. Would you please sell your puppy to me? I am willing to pay you any price for it.”

“But Fey, you are broke. Didn’t you spend all your allowance already?”

Charon interfered in Fey’s offer, quickly causing the excited teen to wilt away regretfully and make a pained face.

“No! Don’t tell Rika the truth. I had her where I wanted her. She was about to hand me her ball of fluff! Why did you do this to me, Charon?”

Fey was quite dramatic as she quickly walked toward Charon and tried to hug her. But the older beta raised her fist threateningly, causing Fey to retreat swiftly to her side.

It was an exciting dynamic, and after seeing it, Rika could not help but let out an amused chuckle.

“You both look like you are close. Have you known each other for long?”

It was rare that Rika was interested in making small talk, but something about this rag-tag group in the dorm house made her want to open up and know more.

Charon looked a little surprised at Rika’s question. But it was understandable.

In the week Rika had known Charon, she had not asked any personal questions or talked about her family.

To someone like Charon, it might come across as Rika being disinterested.

But Fey had that energy that forced Rika to converse with her. It was weird to explain, but Rika felt a little comfortable talking because of how talkative and open Fey was.

It felt like Fey would not judge her no matter what Rika did and told her.

“Hmm, you want to know how long I’ve known Charon for? It’ll be three years soon. Man! I still remember when I walked into these dorms three years ago. Charon was already an occupant with her then-boyfriend! They were so lovely together. The dorm lady even made an exception and took in an omega because-”

“Fey, that much is enough. I am sure Rika wants to hear only some of this from you. By the way, what did you come here for?”

Charon changed the topic quickly.

It was easy to tell that Charon felt uncomfortable bringing her ex up, and a story there made Rika feel uncomfortable.

Thankfully, Fey seemed easily distracted, and she made a gleeful face at that question.

“Ah, I almost forgot what I came here to do in the first place. Rika, I need to borrow your puppy for a day. I promise I will not harm it and bring it back. By the way, what is its name?”

Fey asked, and Rika felt she could no longer avoid that question.

“Just call him Shuu. Before I lend him to you, tell me why you need him?”

Rika asked as she felt chills go down her spine when she looked at Fey.

Something about Fey made her feel uncomfortable. Rika suddenly thought she should stay as far away from whatever Fey was planning as possible.

“Don’t ask, Rika. More importantly, don’t help Fey out with whatever ridiculous shit she is thinking of pulling. It will not be worth it in the end.”

Charon warned Rika, but it was too late. She had already made the mistake of asking Fey her question.

Fey’s arms locked around Rika’s shoulder like a vice grip. Although she wanted to move, Fey pressured Rika’s shoulder to hold her in place.

“You said that you wanted to become my accomplice? Sure, I will let you know what I plan to do. But it would be best if you promised me that you would keep it a secret from Flourite. I do not want him to know what I am about to do.”

Fey’s smile looked dangerous.

This felt like Rika’s last chance to back off.

But Rika felt excited rather than nervous about helping Fey out. Her instincts told her that this would be a fun experience for her.

“Fey, whatever you plan to do with your brother, it’s better not to land us in trouble. I am serious about this. Your brother can be scary at times. I do not want to get on his bad side.”

Charon warned Fey, but it did not seem as if she was listening to Charon’s advice. Instead, she seemed lost in her world.

“Don’t worry about my brother. He might look grumpy, but even he will realise that what I am doing is for his good. Now, Rika, will you help me out?”

Fey asked while reaching out and familiarly holding Rika’s hands. It made Rika feel odd.

People had asked her to help before. But it was only when they knew who Rika was and that she was worth the time that they requested that she use her family assets to make the other side’s wish come true.

But this time, neither Rika’s family name nor her assets (except the puppy) were involved. It felt like Fey was asking ‘Rika’ for help rather than a Goodwill.

That may be why Rika decided against her better judgment and agreed to help Fey.

She could not think of a better excuse than this.

“I…fine! Since you are asking me this, I guess I have no choice but to help you.”

“Fuck yes! Thanks so much for volunteering, Rika. What about you, Charon? Would you care to join us?”

Fey asked with a grinning face.

But Charon quickly turned away and pretended she did not hear Fey speaking.

“Sorry, but I am a little too busy. You also have Rika to help you, so I am sure you will not need me.”

Fey does not look impressed with Charon’s decision but does not complain. The air turned awkward once more.
