Chapter 112: Ch 112: The tension could be cut with a knife
‘Why must I see and participate in this drama? As of now, I don’t have enough drama on my plate. Now, I have to see this and resolve it as well. Ugh, my head hurts.’
Rika sighed as she watched the twins fight it out verbally in the cafe.
The workers had stopped walking about and were looking at the pair with a keen eye. They were ready to intervene if things got physical between them.
Fortunately, Fey was still somehow controlling her emotions, so she grabbed Rika’s hand and dragged her out.
“Let’s continue this at home, brother. There is so much I want to ask you and tell you. Also, head to this location to find out the truth about your ‘angelic girlfriend’. I am sure you will find a nice surprise there.”
Fey dropped her phone with a tracker on the table.
Flourite looked startled, and even Rika wanted to point out how illegal it was to track someone without their consent and chip them.
But she felt more awed that Fey managed to pull this off without being noticed.
“Rika, let’s head back. I am suddenly in the mood for something cold and sweet. It will lighten my mood.”
Once Fey mentioned Rika, Flourite remembered that she was there as well.
The poor man opened his mouth, closed it and opened it again. He wanted to say something, but Fey was quicker than him, so she dragged Rika out of the building.
As soon as they were free, Rika stopped holding back and sighed, frustrated.
“That stupid brother or mine! Fuck! Why does he never listen to me? I told him that he was a poor judge of character…or rather, he is kind to a fault where people always take advantage of him. It makes me worry for him.”
Rika felt disoriented as she was dragged around all over the place by Fey.
But even then, she more and less understood what the situation was.
“Fey, is it okay for you to interfere in your brother’s relationship like this? He seemed to know he was being ripped off but seemed okay with it.”
Rika knew there were family members, especially siblings, who were too attuned and worried about each other to interfere and check out their partner.
But it still felt like a foreign concept to her.
She was sure no one would bat an eye if she suddenly showed up with a partner.
After all, no one bothered to say anything to Mark when he was in his partner-changing phase. He seemed to have a new one almost every day, but no one in their family confronted him about it.
‘Well, I guess everyone in our family will lose their shit if Suzie ever brought back a partner. But it still feels weird for me to think about it.’
“I don’t care if it is okay for me to interfere in my brother’s relationship. I will not see him being scammed in the name of love. I would not have interfered if his ‘girlfriend’ was not playing so hard with him. How dare she play with my younger brother’s feelings by keeping him as a side dish?”
Fey looked angry on behalf of her brother.
There seemed to be a story there that Rika felt comfortable *not* knowing. But Fey had to tell her about it even when Rika did not ask.
“Louis is a senior in my brother’s department, and she is famous for dating people and using them. Her relationship with her marked partner is not that great. Some rumours even say that she forced this bond on the other side and threw her partner away when she got bored.”
“Now she dates anyone who can thrill her and make her partner jealous enough to satisfy her desires. I don’t want my brother to fall deeper for such a person and break down.”
It made…sense if Fey explained her words in such a way.
“Why did you not say all this to your brother? He would have understood you and tried to find a solution. You could also confront your brother’s girlfriend and make her spill the truth. Why make yourself out to be the bad guy here?”
Rika asked curiously, but Fey only sighed.
“My brother is loyal to a fault and would not listen to anyone once he decided about a topic. My words will not convince him that he is being played.”

There seemed to be more to this story that Rika knew. Thankfully, she was allowed to skip the details this time.
“By the way, what about you, Rika? Do you have a brother? What about a partner? We betas might not be able to mate, but our relationships are much more stable than other dynamics.”
“Also, you are cute! Can I set you up with someone if you don’t have a partner? It will do you well to have some romance in your life and-”
Fey was a yelper. Once she started, it seemed impossible to stop her from speaking.
Rika’s day was filled with chatter and being dragged around by Fey. It was hectic, but Rika was thankful for the distraction. She did not have time to think about anything else in the present.
She and Fey saw Flourite when it was dinner time.
The poor man looked like he had aged quite a few years when he sat at the dinner table.
It was not hard to figure out what happened to him and his partner. And no one was rude enough to ask him what happened either.
Well, no one but Fey was so rude.
“Flourite, did you finally see the truth? See! I told you that omega was too good for you to tie yourself down to. This is why you always listen to big sister before you commit to a relationship-”
Flourite’s acidic glare made Fey stop speaking, and she bit her lip in agitation.
‘Ah, well! Looks like this dinner is going to be as awkward as lunch for me. Still, the atmosphere here is much better than it is back home.’
