Chapter 115: Ch 115: I will pick you up. This is not optional
‘And so, it begins! I should have expected this to happen. I don’t even know why I feel disappointed anymore.’

Rika knew that this conversation would ultimately involve Suzie and her interests. Her other somehow managed to bring her into every conversation.

It was an exceptional talent, and Rika felt tired when this happened.

“Mother, we can talk more about this tomorrow. I will swing by with Emily and Damian around lunchtime if that suits you. Now, I should cut the call off and talk to Emily.”

Rika quickly cut off the conversation before it could proceed more.

She was not in a mood to hear about Suzie’s actions and the kind of person she was. Rika had heard about it more than enough in her life.

“Oh, you are right! I should take up only a little of your time. Suzie wanted to spend time with me so I will head out now. I will see you tomorrow, Rika. I hope you are in good health.”

Her mother finally put the phone down, and Rika sighed in relief.

‘Finally! That call ended. I almost thought that Mother would never stop talking about Suzie. Once she starts, it feels almost impossible to stop her.’

Rika was not kidding when she said that.

There had been times when her mother talked about nothing but Suzie for two hours straight with Rika. It felt exhausting and also made Rika’s stomach roll in jealousy.

She did not want to think about much, and her fingers moved independently to connect to the next call.

In reality, Rika had yet to make that call so soon. She needed some time to gather her thoughts before calling Emily. But somehow, she made that call before realising what she was doing.

Emily was also fast and picked up the call in a single ring.

“Rika, is everything alright? You don’t usually call me like this. Did something happen? Would you like our help? Just wait! We will be there soon.”

Emily assured Rika that there would be much time on the other side of the phone.

Rika could also hear Damian’s rough voice asking Emily about what happened. He also sounded rough, reminding Rika of his low and commanding voice.

She felt a shiver go down her spine as soon as that rough and silky voice reached her ears.

‘No! Bad girl! It would be best if you did not remember what happened last night. Do not let it get you hot and bothered!’

Rika’s body was a traitor. It defined everything Rika wanted it to do, and she could feel herself slicking up.

Just heard a hint of something that reminded Rika of last night, which was enough to make her body heat up.

It was not good! But Rika had more than enough willpower to push through this arousal.

“N-No! I do not have a problem. I just wanted to extend my mother’s lunch invitation. It is being held tomorrow at our family house. She wanted me to invite both you and Damian. If you are busy, then you don’t have to come.”

Rika assured the pair quickly as she looked up the train ticket bookings on the other side.

Unfortunately, she could not find a ticket on such short notice. At this rate, she would need to consider calling a cab.

“A lunch invitation? For tomorrow? This will be tricky! Dami has an investigation he needs to lead tomorrow morning. But we will make some time for lunch since you have invited us.”

Rika felt light-hearted after hearing Emily say those words.

She also felt a little confused and disheartened to see her friends behaving in such a usual manner.

Their words and their tone made it feel as if the sexual encounter last night did not happen.

Rika felt grateful and disheartened at the same time when she saw this happening.

“It is okay if you can’t make it. Mom mainly does this because Suzie has a crush on Andrew Tewten and hopes they become closer if she invites more people to lunch. I will ask him to pick me up since he will cross this neighbourhood to my home…Emily, are you there?”

The other side of the phone had gone deadly silent. Rika felt she made a mistake when she mentioned Andrew’s name.

But she could not figure out what she did wrong to feel this way.

“We will pick you up in the morning. Be ready to go by 10:00 AM. And don’t you dare call Andrew Tweten or whatever his name is to pick you up. Instead, could you delete his number from your contact list? You do not need it as long as you have us.”

If Rika had not known better, she would have taken Emily’s annoyance for jealousy.

And who knows? There may have been a little jealousy mixed into her words as well.

But it felt familiar to Rika. The older alpha female had always been unyielding and firm regarding Rika.

Rika knew Emily was not kidding, but she did not want Emily or Damian to leave their way and come for Rika.

“Emily, it’s okay! There is no need for you to-”

“I am not giving you an option. I will be picking you up tomorrow. You better be ready.”

A possessive growl followed Emily’s words, and Rika’s legs felt weak.

She was thankful that she was lying down because she would have collapsed for sure if she was standing, and Emily growled at her like this.

“I…Emily, what about-”

The phone call ended, and Rika’s body felt uncomfortable.

She did not want to think about how slick her panties suddenly felt and how much Rika had to resist reaching down and touching herself.

It took Rika quite a while to gather and push herself to stand. Her legs felt unsettled, and each step made Rika’s stomach slip with arousal.

She needed to go to the bathroom to wake her body up from this state, but reaching there took Rika about fifteen minutes of struggling.

Charon did not stir from her position even once during all this.
