Middle Child Syndrome - Chapter 119
Chapter 119: Ch 119: My fault
“I remember telling you this before, Alpha Goodwill. But I do not appreciate being played around and being made fun of. And I especially don’t appreciate whatever your youngest was trying to do with me. Next time, I will not be so polite.”
Andrew Tweten did not hold back when he made this comment.
His hostility showed clearly in his eyes, and his pheromones fought against Natasha Goodwill’s.
She knew this was a losing battle for her, but her pride as a parent and alpha did not allow her to back down.
“I understand what you are worried about, Mr. Goodwill. But before I discipline my daughter, let me ask you something. Why are you so disturbed by her attempts to get close to you? My daughter is a lovely lady and an omega as well. So why do you dislike her? You are not even mated.”
It might have been a rude question, but the omega parent in the room could no longer resist asking it.
Natasha looked at her omega mate with a tried look.
She knew that he was disturbed by how Suzie had been treated, but she did not think he would ask this question and do it like this.
Even Andrew Tweten seemed to be taken aback by that question. He paused to look at the older omega before throwing his head back and laughing.
“Y-You are seriously asking me why I do not like your snobbish and self-absorbed daughter after she insulted me so many times already? It is because I am not a hormonal-ridden teenager who thinks with his body.”
Natasha felt her alpha trying to come out and fight Andrew off.
The shock in her mate’s eyes was too much for her to bear. He seemed genuinely shocked and worried at the development of this situation.
“I don’t know what kind of world you and your daughter live in, but you should snap out of it now. The world is much crueller than you imagine. Maybe you would not have been of this kind if you had stopped living in your dreamland and faced reality.”
“Also, do you know that you have two daughters and not one? I always hear you say ‘Suzie’ this and ‘Suzie’ that. Do you even know the name of your other daughter?”
The more Andrew spoke, the more upset Natasha’s mate looked.
He also looked uncomfortable, and his eyes were diverted just a little bit away in humiliation and embarrassment.
“I…My relationship with my children is none of your business. You are crossing a line here, Andrew Tweten. Do not try to force your way into our family relations.”
Andrew only smiled a devilish smile that sent shivers down Natasha’s spine. She suddenly felt that this lunch was a mistake.
Before she could cancel any plans, their front food rang.
Only a handful of people were to come that day, so Natasha was sure that Rika and her friends had arrived.
‘What a shitty time for Rika to arrive. But at least her presence would be a buffer between us and Andrew. He did say that he was close to Rika after all.’
The oldest female alpha stood up first with an impassive face.
“It must be Rika. She messaged me that she was about to arrive soon. I should greet her since I’ve not seen her long.”
Natasha Goodwill was trying to run away, which she acknowledged.
She felt sorry for leaving her husband alone with Andrew Tweten, but she was sure that nothing would happen to either.
But again, she was followed by Andrew, who stood up.
“Alpha Goodwill, please allow me to accompany you into welcoming your daughter home. I hope you won’t mind me tagging alone.”
Natasha felt uncomfortable when she stood with Andrew Tweten. It felt as if he was trying to dominate her while giving her space.
His bipolar attitude was a little, no, a lot disturbing.
‘It is not bi-polar. If anything, Andrew is relatively firm in his beliefs. But his not liking Suzie is ticking me off. I can’t figure out why he does not want her. Is he defective as an alpha? Or maybe…he is like Emily and Damian and also likes Alphas. What a loss for all of us if that turns out to be true.’

Natasha Goodwill was not prejudiced. She was relatively tolerant of people’s beliefs and their likes.
That was why she gave Andrew the benefit of the doubt.
The male alpha followed her outside, where she waited for Rika to enter. She had much to talk to her eldest daughter about.
“Rika, you are finally here-”
Andrew beat her to the greeting, but he paused speaking when he took in the scene before him.
Emily opened the door with the biggest grin on her face possible. One of her hands was warped around Rika’s, and the grip looked tight.
And then there was Damian, whose whole arm was warped around Rika’s middle while he walked. Rika only came up to his chest, and this looked intimidating and awkward at the same time.
“Alpha Goodwill, thank you for inviting us for lunch as well. I am sure we will have a lovely time as long as ‘some’ people do not decide to get too excited. I would hate to see anyone get hurt.”
Emily smiled at the older alpha, but Natasha felt she was warning Andrew to keep to his lane.
Natasha turned to look at Andrew, expecting mild annoyance on his face. But he looked pissed at Natasha’s words, and his eyes looked ready to eat her alive.
“Don’t say such things, Emily Steinz. We are all adults in here. I am sure we know how to behave by now.”
Andrew replied before Natasha could comment. But his cold and sarcastic tone did not go unnoticed by anyone.
Natasha suddenly felt that this lunch would end up disastrous no matter what she did.
‘Fuck! Why did I think it was a good idea to gather these moody teenagers and expect them to have a mature attitude? This is all my fault.’
