Chapter 121: Ch 121: Caught in a storm
There was an awkward silence when Damian shifted his hands from Rika’s eyes to her ears.
Emily’s expression made Rika die a little bit each second.
But, of course, Damian did not show any hint of embarrassment. On the contrary, he looked proud of standing behind Rika and closing her ears so that she would not have to hear any bullshit.
Since Damian was standing behind Rika, she could not see his expression. But it must have been killer to make the butler flinch away and not look at him.
“Please, come inside, young master and miss! We should not keep Alpha Goodwill and her guest waiting for you.”
The butler was quick to shift his focus.
Rika noticed Emily mentally recording what had happened that day. Knowing her friend, Emily would not keep quiet because she respected Rika’s mother.
‘Suddenly, I have a feeling that this dinner party is going to go horribly! Maybe I should find a way to run away before I am forced to sit through it all. Should I make a run for it-‘
“Rika, whatever bullshit you are planning in your silly little mind, forget about it. Besides, I am Dami, and I am here for you. What could even happen? Just relax and enjoy yourself.”
The beta shivered at Emily’s husky voice, which spoke directly into her ear.
The older female alpha was standing too close to Rika currently. Her face was positioned directly beside Rika’s ears, and each of Emily’s breaths made her breasts touch Rika’s.
Meanwhile, Damian still had his grip on Rika, and each second made it even more evident how tight his security was.
Rika was stuck between those two and seemed to have no choice but to accept her fate as a sacrifice.
‘Shit! This feels too awkward. I will surely touch Emily if I do something drastic. What should I do-‘
“Does this make you feel conscious of my presence, Rika? I am not touching you, yet I can smell your sweet scent. You should be careful not to entice an alpha like me with your pheromones.”
Those words felt like a cold shower over Rika’s senses.
She did not know why or how she had forgotten what happened last night and a few minutes ago, but Rika suddenly remembered that her body acted weird with alphas or omegas.
“I am a beta. I do not emit pheromones, nor do I want to emit them. Stop saying ridiculous things, Emily. You are crossing a line I do not want you to.”
Rika warned Emily, but her heart was not into it.
Emily could also tell that because the alpha smiled that knowing and teasing smile before backing away.
That smug alpha face said it all—Emily was teasing Rika right now. And the worst part? It was working as intended.
Emily’s face and attitude affected Rika. She felt irritated, but some of her thoughts also charmed her.
So, Rika did what she did best in this situation. She very carefully extracted herself from it by forcing her feelings down.
If she had not considered it, this issue would never have existed, right?
“Let’s hurry. We are late already.”
Damian decides to interfere with the conversation, and his arms are a barrier between Rika and Emily.
It made the female alpha pout mockingly, and she looked at Damian as if he were her rival.
But since this kind of thing happened often between the alpha pair, Rika did not think much of it. She knew this temporary fight would be resolved soon and that much rutting would follow between the pair.
This always happened so Rika would not be surprised by anything.
“Fine! Let’s head in now. But seriously, you must let me have fun sometimes, Dami! You cannot keep getting your way all the time.”

Emily complained with a pout and a cute voice.
Seeing a powerful alpha like Emily acting cute made things happen to Rika. But she did not analyse any of her feelings before she was dragged inside her house and made to stand in front of her main door.
Her mother’s impatient face was the first thing Rika saw upon entering.
“Rika, you are finally here-”
Her mother tried to lighten the mood and call out to Rika, but Emily had other intentions, and she did not let her mother speak.
Somehow, that turned into an argument between her and Andrew.
It was a…surprise to see those two alphas trying to tear each other apart. Sparks were flying between the pair, and Rika’s first instinct was to ask Damian for help.
Of course, the most dominant alpha in the room did not say a word, but he lazily warped his arm around Rika’s waist and put his hand on her.
It was almost as if he could not check out what was happening before him.
Rika noticed how her mother was becoming more agitated by the moment.
The elder would snap at this rate, and Rika knew how her mother lost all reason when she was angry and annoyed. She made more enemies that way, and Rika would rather avoid such a fate.
She was almost thankful when she started to feel sick because of that sweet omega scent that filled the room seconds after her mother’s annoyance flooded it.
Her omega father finally stepped into the room, looking a little nervous.
“You all should not fight like this. As a healthy alpha, it is understandable that you want to be heard and establish control. But please practice a little caution for other people as well.”
“That being said, you should be the first to apologise, dear. How can an adult act in such a manner in front of children? You should be comforting them, not scaring them.”
Rika was impressed with her father.
He was brave, coming between three beefing alphas (and an annoyed one) without flinching. His pheromones were likely calming as well.
But Rika’s body had as adverse an effect as it ever did on omega pheromones in the room.
In simpler terms – Rika was feeling sick.
