Chapter 124: Ch 124: It keeps getting worse
“Rika, what are you planning to do? Is it something stupid? Don’t do it! I am warning you! Don’t you dare risk your life and-”
In seconds, Emily yelled but realised what she said did not matter.
Rika was a stubborn fool who was also out of her mind. In her current condition, she could not listen to Emily.
The female alpha wanted to break down the door, but she knew it would take her too long.
“Dami, break the door down. We need to get to Rika before she does anything stupid.”
Emily yelled at her partner, and everyone else found her as well.
“W-What happened? Rika looked sick! I-Is she alright? She should have told us if she was that sick. We won’t have forced her to come.”
The only omega in the setting sounded upset and scared.
He had never seen his middle child behaving like this, and being in this pheromone-filled atmosphere terrified him.
“Calm down, dear. I am sure Rika is fine! It must be the stomach flu that is causing her to be sick-”
“Stop downplaying your daughter’s condition. If you were responsible parents, things would not have come to this. Ugh, this is a waste of time. I don’t have time to focus on you. Dami, break the door down now.”
Emily’s voice echoed through the hallway, but she did not even care about all the people she was scaring.
Her first and last priority was to get Rika to safety. Everything else could wait for the time being.
Damian did not wait around to break the door this time. Before anyone knew it, the bathroom door was open, and a sweet smell overpowered all their senses.
Biting her chosen omega made Emily’s gums ache. It was hard to hold herself back and even more challenging to hold Damian back.
The older alpha had no self-control over himself.
“I-I told you to wait! Fuck! When is this dose going to work? I already feel like crap.”
Emily was sure she would never be able to forget what she saw that day in the bathroom.
Rika had half of her body dangling from the washbasin as water overflowed all over her. The damp scent made her hair look like a mess.
There was an injection needle poking out from underneath her hair, and it was safe to say that Rika had injected herself with some potent pheromone suppressors.
It should have calmed her down. But somehow, that made her unstable body even worse.
She had not yet developed and settled as an omega but had more than enough beta to oppose the medicine.
It made her body feel like it was breaking down. It only took a few minutes more for her to lose consciousness and collapse.
“This situation is dire! There is too much pheromone secretion to be normal…or possible. Wasn’t she supposed to be beta? What is going on?”
Andrew looked worried as soon as he entered the bathroom. He hissed at the sickening smell, and even his teeth ached.
Thankfully, he was prepared this time and threw a chewy medicine in his mouth.
‘I brought it as a precaution against the youngest member of the Goodwill family. But how do I know I would have to use it like this? Not that I am complaining about it. This will allow me to stay close to Rika for some time.’
Andrew tried to reach for Rika, but a firm hand stopped him.
Damian Rodric’s eyes held a warning that Andrew knew not to ignore.
He knew that he needed to back down and let the dominant alpha dictate what needed to be done.

But his brain and his instincts did not agree. He wanted to touch Rika and pull her to safety.
Andrew’s fangs ached to sink themselves into Rika’s neck and mark it thoroughly-
“Stay in your lane. I will not warn you again.”
Damian’s authority-laced voice was like a cold-water bucket on Andrew’s head. He shuddered at the tone, and his rationality returned a little bit.
But more than that, he felt caught off-guard. He had always taken pride in being a level-headed alpha who did not let his instincts control him. But no one would say that about him if they saw him now.
“Let me through. I will take Rika to a trustworthy hospital and have her looked after. Dami, let’s go.”
Emily took charge of the situation, and Andrew felt unsettled to see the dominant alpha let her have her way. But he did reach out to pull Rika into his embrace at the last second.
“I’ll come with you. I recognise those symptoms and can offer a connection to the foreign medical fields.”
“As much as you don’t like me, you should not push me away here if you care about Rika’s well-being.”
Andrew stood firmly in front of Emily and Damian. He would not back down, even if the pair refused his help.
“…”
The alpha pair did not say anything to him but did not deny Andrew’s request to help either. A joyous sigh showed they were willing to listen to reason.
Unfortunately, not everyone was onboarded with this.
“Just what the hell is going on? Since when was Rika that sick? And that scent! Was it hers? How is that possible? I will not allow you to leave until you explain what is happening here.”
Natasha Goodwill blocked their way as she held her head.
She seemed trying to ward off her headache, but it was not working.
“Why do you feel so shocked and scared, Alpha Goodwill? This is a result of your decisions and neglect over the year. I am sure you are not ignorant enough not to recognise what is happening.”
“Now, if you will excuse me! I need to take Rika to a hospital before her condition worsens. I am sure you will understand and *not* visit Rika. I don’t want her to feel stressed because of you. I hope you understand what I mean.”
Emily’s smile was sarcastic, but it did its job well.
