Chapter 129: Ch 129: Little things add up
“As much as I want to have this discussion with you, Alpha Goodwill, even you cannot deny that the core reason for Rika’s problem is you and your family’s neglect. That is why I would like to request of you.”
“Please entrust Rika to us and try to maintain as much distance from her as possible. That would be the best-case scenario for your family and Rika. As for you, Andrew Tweten, can you forget about it all.”
“Rika might have been your friend at one point, but you don’t have any relationship with her now. Your presence in her life would only make Rika feel more nervous. I and Damian are enough for Rika’s mental health and development.”
What Emily was trying to say to the two alphas in the room was clear.
Her smile seemed to hide the darkness behind Emily’s eyes, but Natasha felt the total weight of her stare digging into her when she looked at the younger alpha.
Natasha’s instinct yelled at her to deny what the younger said to her.
There was no way she would leave Rika alone! Especially in such a vulnerable condition where she was in danger!
But at the same time, her more rational side wanted to comply with Emily and give her the benefit of the doubt.
“I don’t want to. You are not the only ones who care about Rika. My reunion with Rika might be recent, but I am not cowardly enough to say that I don’t care about her. I might be in love with her.”
“So, I will support her no matter what you both say. I am not sorry, and I won’t be backing down.”
Andrew Tweten dropped a massive bomb on top of the trio.
His relaxed expression almost made his words seem like a joke. But the scary light in his eyes was enough to convince anyone that he was serious.
“Tsk, I was afraid of this!”
Emily whispered it under her breath, but the room was quiet enough for everyone to hear these words.
Natasha also regained her composure, and she was able to think once more.
“I would like to stay for the time as well. As much as I understand where you are coming from, Emily, I would rather focus on Rika and what she wants. If she wants me to leave, then I will leave.”
“Until then, I want to be there for her as much as possible.”
They all finished speaking, and silence covered the room. The tension felt like it could be cut with a knife.
Silent sparks were flying all over the room, but the four alphas got together and remained calm. It could only be called a miracle at that point.
During this time, the female beta doctor had left the room to check up on Rika.
She entered the room back with a grim expression on her face.
“The patient is awake. You can go in and meet her one by one. I asked her which person she wanted to start with, and she called for her mother. Alpha Goodwill, please follow me inside.”
Emily made a pained face at this news but did not throw a tantrum.
What was even more shocking was that Damian did not do anything. He was behaving himself for the time being, but Emily could feel the impatience in his body language.
Natasha Goodwill looked taken aback by the doctor’s words, but she was ready to meet Rika again.
She took a deep breath before looking at the door separating her from Rika.
The oldest alpha had been confident thus far. But now that she was actually about to head in and meet Rika, she suddenly felt nervous, and her neck sweated with fear of rejection.
She knew that she would not be able to handle it if Rika said she wanted to break her familial bond. That was how fragile the older alpha was.
“Doctor, knock me out if I become aggressive and do anything to hurt Rika. I don’t care how heavy of a dose you have to use on me; I want you to knock me out.”
Natasha nervously babbled as she put her hand on the door.

Her heavy eyes begged the doctor to help her in her need.
The beta doctor scoffed while looking almost amused at Natasha’s predicament.
“Don’t worry, Darling. I won’t need to do a thing if you somehow lose control. You will know what I mean once you see your daughter again. Her pheromones are one hell of a weapon she has acquired.”
The doctor assured Natasha before she opened the door, shoved Natasha inside, and closed the door behind her back.
It all took a few seconds, but Natasha could not even concentrate on it once the tantalising omega pheromones hit her nose.
They were dense and unlike any she had smelled until now. It made even her willpower loosen and her legs weakened.
Usually, familiar pheromones did not affect an alpha’s psyche other than to calm them down. But Natasha’s alpha did not recognise these pheromones as family.
They were new and delicious. Thankfully, they were not arousing, or this would have been a mortifying experience for Natasha.
“How are you feeling now, Rika? Is there any pain? Does anything ache? Holding your voice back is not something I would advise you to do. It will only make this process much more painful for you to bear.”
The doctor tapped at her board before she walked toward the bed.
Rika was half leaning against the bed and half sitting up. Her eyes looked tired, but she knew what was happening around her.
And when she looked at Natasha, the older alpha could not look away.
It was as if Rika had a chokehold on her, and she was not letting go of her.
“Mother, why did you come here? I am sure that father must be in shock after seeing me collapse. Shouldn’t you be with him instead of coming after me like this? Did something happen back home?”
That was the first thing Rika asked her, and Natasha’s heart sank.
