Emily’s smile looked scary. Rika felt that anything she said would be taken out of context.

So, she decided to keep quiet and let Emily draw her conclusions.

“I see! We can also play that game since you don’t want to discuss it. I won’t burden you to tell me what is going on in your life if you don’t want to.”

Emily said that, but her smile and expression showed different reactions. It made Rika nervous to stand in front of Emily in her current state, never mind telling her something or asking her for help.

Rika looked at the door nervously, now waiting for the doctor to enter the room and save her from this awkwardness.

If Emily had noticed this, she would not have shown or said anything about it.

But Damian was the real reason for Rika’s nervousness. His blank stare looked Rika right in the eye, making her nervous and agitated. She did not know what he wanted but knew that Damian was trying to tell her something.

It was an unnerving wait for Rika. She flinched when the doctor entered again, but her relief made everything better for her.

“I’m done running all the tests. Rika Goodwill, choose now if you want to live or not. If you’re going to live, we must start your transformation into an omega starting today. You will have no room to complain. Do you understand?”

The doctor asked Rika without missing a single beat.

It was not a question of ‘if’ Rika wanted treatment or not. It was only a question of ‘when’ she liked it.

“You are not leaving me with any choice in this matter. Since you’ve already decided to go with my treatment, is there even a choice in this matter?”

Rika sounded bitter, but the doctor did not show any mercy to her.

“The alternative is the die. As a doctor, I must ensure you live a healthy life. I am just doing what is expected of me.”

That seemed to be the truth. And as bitter as Rika was regarding her situation, she knew that she did not want to die.

“Ideally, it would be preferable to go along with our treatment willingly and allow your body to develop into an omega. But we can discuss that some other time. Right now, we need to stabilize your body so it does not go out of control.

The doctor explained in a calm voice while bringing in a needle and sticking it into Rika’s arm.

Rika instantly felt cold numbness swoop over her body, driving the discomfort again. It moved away from the pain and heat Rika had constantly found herself in and had gotten used to.

Her body felt light and energized. Rika felt as if she could do anything she wanted to.

It was a euphoric feeling, and Rika could see it being addicting even with the haze her brain was falling under due to the drug she had been made to take.

‘This is not good! This feels so good. I…have to be careful with this strong stuff, or I might end up being addicted to it.’

Rika bit her lip as she tried to control her feelings.

But the euphoria truly made everything much more challenging to manage when compared to her usual sharp brain.

“You’re free to leave anytime. Miss Steinz, ensure you thoroughly scent Rika so that her instincts can get used to their new omega-awakened senses, and they open up slowly. Let me know if there are any complications during this process.”

The silence in the room was deafening. Emily was looking at Rika intensely, which made Rika nervous.

Rika forced herself to speak, but it was becoming increasingly difficult not to give into that pleasant haze and let it cloud her mind.

“You don’t have to scent me if you don’t want to. I am sure all this will pass on soon as well.”

Rika tried to assure Emily, but the female gave Rika a look she did not want to interpret. It would make her brain hurt and her heart skips a beat.

Maybe Emily noticed that Rika was avoiding her, or she did not. There was no way for Rika to tell.

But what she could tell was that Emily seriously wanted to help her.

“Rika, let me and Dami scent you. It will be good for you to be scented by two strong alphas. Dami’s pheromones would be especially helpful for you since he’s dominant.”

Emily proposed, and Rika’s mouth instantly watered at the thought of being able to smell these powerful pheromones again.

Her body and instincts demanded her ‘alpha’s’ pheromones to stop Rika’s suffering, but she tightly held the lid over it.

‘But would it indeed be that bad? Emily might pity me when she offers me this, but isn’t this my chance to get into her good grace and experience what I always wanted? This might be my last chance to get scented by her and Damian.’

Rika felt nervous.

She might have accepted the doctor’s offer to become an omega, but that did not mean Rika was 100% on board with this idea.

‘I will find a doctor to help me remain a beta. I do not care how much I have to pay or what procedure to go under. I am even willing to do something illegal and shady. But that is a problem or the future me.’

For now, Rika’s instincts made her want her alphas. It was an instinct Rika could not reign in.

Emily noticed, and the older alpha placed a hand on Rika’s eyes to close them and force Rika into a trance.

“Don’t overthink. Just feel us with your body and your pheromones. We want to help you out, Rika. Do not reject my pheromones.”

Emily’s wrist was filled with her scent. One small sniff made Rika get hooked on it and seek more.

There needed to be more. This slight whiff of pheromones that made Rika’s body tingle was not enough. She wanted more, and she needed it now.
