Chapter 135: Ch 135: Missing all the days
“Charon, are you in your room? It is time for lunch! Do you not have to come down and eat with us? Hey! Are you not in your room?”
Fey urgently knocked at the door, only for her pleas to be ignored again.
This was the fifth time in two hours, and Fey was unhappy about being ignored.
She was about to knock on the older beta’s door a sixth time when her twin came around the corner and gave her one long look before sighing and dragging her back toward the lunch room.
“Just let this go, Fey. Charon will come and eat when she wants to. Did her behavior these past few days make you forget what she is usually like? It is normal for her to miss a few meals in a row.”
Flourite reminded Fey of this, and the female twin bit her lip in agitation.
Hearing these words from her twin made sense, and Fey knew Charon was a private person.
Since she had known Charon for a few years and had heard about her from the previous dorm residents, Fey knew that Charon’s recent cheerful behavior was just a shell she had created.
But that did not make her worry any less for the older beta.
“I know what Charon is usually like. But she was doing so much better recently that I thought… never mind. Sorry, Charon! I see that you did not want us to bother you today. I will head back now. I hope you have a nice day-”
“Oh my! What are you both doing in front of Charon’s room? Do you need her for anything? She said that she needed to head home today. I am afraid that she is not even here.”
The form lady informed the twins about Charon’s destination, and Fey felt her jaw drop.
Flourite recovered quicker than Fey did, but even he had a flush on his cheeks from making conclusions.
“A-Ah, I see! You should have told me about this before I made a fool of myself, miss! Ugh, this is so embarrassing. I don’t think I will recover from this humiliation.”
Fey placed her hand on her eyes and lowered her head out of shame.
Flourite patted her back in sympathy, and he helped her out of the awkward situation. I felt guilty for concluding this situation without knowing all its facts.
The dorm lady watched the twins walk away with a somewhat sorry look.
As much as she wanted to wave off their worries, their observation was on the mark.
Charon had been behaving off for the past few days.
She tried to mask her feelings, but the dorm lady knew how overwhelming it was for Charon to deal with her family and what they wanted from her.
The beta had run away from home and found a new purpose in this dorm. Bu past had a way of catching up with you unexpectedly.
‘Well, I cannot comment on this either. One day, my past will catch up to me, and it will be a disaster. I hope it does not swallow any kids who decided to trust me and live under my care.”
The form lady sighed before she knocked at the door one last time to tell the occupant that she was heading away.
She had not lied when she said that Charon had visited her home. But the form lady should have informed the twins that Charon was already back.
It did not seem as if Charon wanted to talk to her, so the form lady quickly left her alone.
She could only hope Charon would open up to her roommate for help. She was not in a good mental space right now, and she needed all the help she could get.
…
“Your body has the normal number of pheromones for your awakening level. Now, don’t rush into your awakening; take baby steps. Start with pheromone exposure at medium intensity once per week.”
“Alpha Steinz, it would be better to exercise caution when you scent your Goodwill. Her body is fragile and would not take that much abuse from you. Please, do whatever you want to do in moderation.”
The doctor warned Emily, mainly because she did not think she could get through Damian’s mind.

Damian looked to have zoned out, with his arms wrapped around Rika’s petit frame. He looked like a giant, making the small beta-turned-omega sit in his lap.
The beta doctor would have looked concerned about this pairing, but she knew there was no reason to feel worried about an omega.
Their bodies were made to take alpha’s and could adjust to most sizes. Rika would also be so fine…. mostly.
“Don’t worry, doctor. You must figure out what kind of self-control I must practice to get this far. I am sure I can hold back a little longer.”
The doctor had no words to say for that.
She had looked over Rika before and was shocked that the recently turned omega had not been marked by either of the two alphas yet.
It was unheard of. They especially knew that these alphas had feelings for omega.
“Frankly, I don’t know why all three of you are stubborn and not bonding for life. It is the easiest way to attain stability and go about your life without being swayed by pheromones. But since this is your choice, I will not ask questions.”
“Be back here next week for a checkup. You said that your school will start next week, right? Before that, could you come here for a checkup so I can look at your condition? Do not slack off now and forget your medicines.”
The doctor reminded Rika before she dismissed the trio from her office. It was finally time to head home.
“Let’s drop Rika off first. She will be asleep by the time we reach her dorm. Ah, she will miss another day of work. She should just quit at this point. There is no point in her work when Rika will miss her entire day, right?”
