Chapter 175: Ch 175: But he’s my brother!
There was silence in the car, and Mark felt tense as Suzie refused to look at or talk to him. It was clear to see that she was angry at him for having ‘abandoned’ her all alone in the hospital.

Mark had not even left her alone for that long. Her session was not even close to finishing when he entered her room.

But Suzie did not seem to think the same and pouted as she looked at her older brother’s side profile annoyedly.

“Suzie, I told you already that I did not abandon you. Now, please stop pouting and look at me. Talk to me about your session as you often do. Otherwise, this silence will make me go crazy.”

Mark begged his younger sister to speak to him.

He had already had a wrong time with Rika and did not want to sour his relationship with Suzie.

No, scratch that!

He especially did not want a poor or strained relationship with Suzie. Mark was not sure he could take it if that happened.

“I don’t want to talk to you. You left me all alone and then came back stinking of an unknown omega. You even refused to tell me who that omega was! So why should I speak to you now?”

Suzie asked as she looked away from her brother.

Knowing Mark, it would not take long for him to feel guilty enough to spill everything. But that was not Suzie’s goal.

She wanted Mark to learn a lesson and never try something like this again. He needed to realise that he could not win against Suzie, no matter what he did.

Mark realised what Suzie was trying to do, but he had no protection against her tactics. All he could do was pray for her forgiveness.

He did not want to tell Suzie about Rika and what happened to her. The shock of this news might make Suzie feel nervous, which was the last thing Mark wanted Suzie to feel.

“Suzie, please forgive me for this. I told you that I accidentally bumped into an omega while returning. You must be smelling that scent coming from me.”

Mark tried to play it off. But, of course, Suzie did not believe his words.

The pair reached their home in such awkward silence, and Suzie ran out of the car and toward the door of her house. She wanted to get inside and forget all about what happened.

Her mother was waiting for them in the lounge, and she looked to see that Suzie had left Mark behind as she walked faster and faster to get inside.

“Suzie, Mark, you are back? Did something happen? You look a little tense. Suzie also looked angry. Do I need to bury someone and make them regret their lives? Come on! Tell me what happened?”

Natasha Goodwill looked at her children with a concerned look on her face.

She was a mother who could do anything for her children, and this situation looked like it needed help.

“I don’t want to talk about it. Mother, do you know that Mark abandoned me all alone with the doctor because he wanted to have fun with an omega? It is all that omega’s fault for seducing brother and taking him away from my side.”

Suzie complained as she buried her face in her mother’s chest and spoke softly.

But her words were clear enough for the pair to hear.

Natasha felt a giggle building up inside her chest at her children’s cute attitude. It was clear that Suzie liked her brother as much as Mark liked her.

But it was also concerning because it made Mark’s dating life a hell. He had yet to have a partner who lasted more than a few weeks, all because of Suzie and her presence.

“I told you it was not like that, Suzie. I was not-”

“Liar! You have that omega scent all over your body and clothes. You do not need to lie to me.”

Natasha almost laughed before she sniffed the scent Suzie was talking about, and her heart skipped a beat.

It was a faint undertone, but Natasha recognised those pheromones as familiar. They belonged to Rika, and now things made much more sense.

Mark often forgot about things when he was obsessed with something. And with everything happening, dealing with Rika and her worries was likely something Mark was worried about.

“Mom! We need to do something. Mark is being tricked by someone terrible. We need to make sure he does not fall into a trap. Can you look into this and bury that shameless omega trying to entice Mark?”

Suzie asked in a whiny voice.

Natasha would have complied if it had been any other time or person.

But seeing how the person whom Mark met was none other than Rika, she did not want to think she had the courage to Suzie’s actions anymore.

“Suzie, I understand that you are worried about your brother. But he is an adult and can care for himself just fine. It would be best if you did not interfere with his relationships. How will he ever find a partner or marry if he approaches no one?”

Natasha asked, but she did not expect Suzie to give such a solid response to her words.

Suzie looked startled, and her eyes looked at her mother with a betrayed expression marking them.

“Mark does not need to get married or have a partner. He promised to stay with me my whole life like we are now. I will not hand him over to anyone else for the taking.”

Suzie’s strong protest took everyone aback.

Even their mother looked shocked at Suzie’s outburst, but it was a given why that happened.

On the other hand, Suzie continued to act as if nothing was wrong with what she had said.

“Mark, we need to have a serious talk. Suzie, it would be best if you returned to your room now. Also, you should not be too obsessed with your brother, or you will never be able to find a partner that you love.”
