Middle Child Syndrome - Chapter 182
Chapter 182: Ch 182: That Bastard
“Shh, don’t yell now. I am not here to harm you.”
The alpha sounded at ease as he pulled Rika close to him. But she could tell that this alpha was trouble. He was planning to do something that involved her. That was why Rika quickly tried to pull herself away from his hold.
But that stupid, stubborn alpha kept holding on to her and not letting go.
“Hey, don’t be so eager to pull away from me like this. I want to be your friend and know why you are posing to be a beta in our uni. Won’t let everyone know that you are an omega raise your value-”
Rika could not break the hold naturally, so she did the only thing she could.
She stomped the man holding on to her hard and. Her shoes were flat but had a hard, pointed bottom for better grip.
It must have hurt like a bitch because the alpha let out a startled yelp, and it gave Rika just enough time to run.
Only after she ran did Rika realise her mistake. She had initiated a run-in in front of an alpha.
There was no way this would not trigger his instincts to hunt Rika down and make her submit. But Rika had forgotten all about that.
‘It is not because I wanted this run to happen. I-this was a mistake on my part. I should not think about useless things.’
Rika’s instincts had also started to enjoy this run. She hated how her omega part was getting stronger every day.
“Ha! Why are you running? Do you want me to run after you and prove my worth? Well then, I don’t have a problem with that.”
The alpha ran after Rika fast. There was nothing playful about his chase, and it terrified Rika. All she knew now was that she needed to run for her life if she wanted to live. But it felt too dangerous to move from her current position.
Rika ran and ran until she reached the front door of the uni. She was lucky to have a crown to distract and run obstacles for the larger-framed alpha.
She was almost out of the crown and into the space once more when Rika’s instincts recognised two familiar scents, and she quickly ran toward the place where she smelled them.
Both Emily and Damian had come to pick Rika up.
Rika felt so relieved to see them that her awkwardness disappeared, and she threw herself toward them.
“Rika, you are here. Listen! I know that you need time, but we both wanted to-”
The beta-turned-omega threw herself toward Emily’s arms before she could finish and she tugged them to get out of this place.
There was no point in letting this pair meet the alpha chasing after her.
After all, Rika did not want to cause trouble, especially for Emily and Damian.
Rika knew her alphas well. Heads would fly if they ever crossed their limits, and Rika wanted to keep them within the boundaries for now.
Unfortunately, when had Rika’s wishes ever been heard by the gods? They were ignored this time as the unnamed alpha crossed the main gate of the collage and looked at Rika, trembling in Emily’s arms.
Rika made the mistake of looking at the alpha standing right in front of her uni’s gate, and she felt a shiver go down her spine from the chilling look she received back from him.
‘Does he have a problem with me? What does he want? Do you think I should address him?
While Rika was busy thinking about all this, her eyes looked troubled, which worried Emily.
She looked up to see where Rika was also looking, and her eyes narrowed as soon as she noticed that unknown alpha glaring at Rika but not saying anything.
If Emily noticed this, Damian would have seen it as well. And he even took a step toward that unknown alpha to confront him.
Rika quickly bragged Damian’s arm to stop him.
“Would you please don’t cause a scene? You can only get out of it slowly if you do something now. You both are public figures. If there is an incident, it would be a disaster for the PR.”

Rika advised Damian, but she was talking more to Emily.
Being the more level-headed one out of the two, she was more likely to hear Rika out and follow her orders.
Or, that was what was supposed to happen. But Emily was also tense and ready to kill in this case. Her eyes flashed when she looked at that unknown alpha.
“Has he been bothering you all day, Rika? I don’t like that alpha, but since you don’t want us to deal with him, we won’t do that in broad daylight.”
Emily promised, but her words sounded different from her cheery voice.
She was indicating that a closed-door assassination was still on the table and neither of the alpha pair was shy enough to not go ahead with it.
Rika also did not feel she had a right to stop these two from doing what they wanted.
Damian looked agitated, but he also turned away from the gate and rubbed at Rika’s neck…more specifically, where a glad scent was generally present.
His rubbing was a little aggressive, and it caused Rika’s body to lax in Emily’s arms.
Rika tried her best to hold off the moan that was threatening to escape her mouth, but she held herself back.
“Y-You! Stop it now! This is a public space. And I still need time-”
Damian’s eyes flashed when he turned to look at Rika. It was clear that he was barely holding back right now.
The person who gave Rika an explanation was none other than Emily as she tried to suck at Rika’s neck as well at the same time.
“That son-of-a-bitch marked your neck with his scent. It is frustrating to smell it on you. Shit! If only we could mark you as a beater to protect you. Rika, may we scent mark you today?”
