Chapter 188: Ch 188: Why does it eat so much?
“I should get going now. I need to reach home while there is still light in the sky. I don’t want our dorm lady to worry about me.”

Rika stood up and pushed herself away from the comfortable chair she was lounging on.

Emily and Damian stood with her and opened the door so Rika could exit the apartment.

“You don’t need to go with me back to the dorms. I can get it myself. That is why I want to leave so early in the first place. You both should enjoy your time with each other.”

Rika did not want to say it out loud, but she felt a little guilty about this pair’s help.

They might have confessed to Rika, but she had also seen them be together for years. She wanted them to spend a little more time with each other so that her presence did not affect their relationship.

“I want to spend time with you. Don’t you want to spend time with me as well? Whatever thoughts you are packing in that brain of yours, you don’t need to worry about it anymore.”

Damian flicked Rika’s forehead hard as he walked past her and outside the apartment.

“If you are worried about us, then don’t be. We told you, right? We were only in a relationship because we both liked you and did not want to lose you to the other. We like you enough to even share you, despite our instincts not to do that.”‘

Emily smiled back at Rika, but her eyes held a deep, dark desire.

Rika’s body shivered, and her instincts told her it would have been better not to ask questions.

The car ride was almost silent, and Rika stumbled out of the car quickly as soon as it stopped.

“I will see you both around. Feel free to call me if you need anything from me as well. Bye now.”

Rika was cheerful and nervous. The alpha pair thought she looked cute, so they waved her off.

As soon as Rika was gone, that gentle expression drained out from the alpha pair’s faces, and their expression hardened.

“You are going to acquire that flower shop Rika is working at, right?”

Damian asked as he looked at the female sitting beside him in the passenger seat. Rika had chosen to sit back while the alpha pair occupied their front seats.

“Of course I am. I want to shut that place down because of all the distress it is causing Rika. But I don’t think Rika would like it if I did that. Moreover, we run a lot of underground operations in that shop. Its location is too ideal to close down for now.”

“Shuu, what are you doing? Hey! Stop moving around my legs like this. You can get hurt or stomped if you don’t stop it now.”

Rika complained, but the pup continued to move around her legs happily.

The tiny pup had grown up much quicker than Rika had expected. Although she knew nothing about dogs, this growth did not seem natural.

“You traitor! How dare you run away from me like this? I treat you, play with you and bathe you. But all you want is Rika? How is that fair?”

Fey complained as she ran after the puppy and noticed it wagging its tail at Rika.

The mock anger on Fey’s face caused the pup to look away with a puff and even thumbed its tail to indicate it was annoyed.

“You little bastard. Well, fuck you as well. See if I give you any food from now on. Rika, just what kind of magic did you cast on that creature? It refuses to listen to anyone but you. Can you make me such a loyal companion? I will pay you back.”

Fey begged as she reached out to touch Rika’s shoulder. But Shuu did not like that, and he let out a bark.

That startled Fey enough to make her jump and yelp in protest.

Shuu looked proud of itself and turned to look at Rika to get praise for what it did.

Rika suddenly felt tired, so she picked up the puppy to carry.

‘Looks like Shuu gained some weight. It is tougher to carry him around now than a few weeks ago. Should I consider it a good thing or not?’

Rika sighed before bowing in front of Fey as an apology.

“I am sorry for Shuu’s behaviour. I do not know why he doesn’t like you or anyone else since you care for him more than I do. And I am thankful for all your help…. maybe a little less feed would be nice? Shuu’s gotten too big and heavy.”

Rika did not mean to complain, but her arms protested, and she put the pup down.

“Well, tell that to your pup. It devours anything we give it and even asks for more. Why is this pup so hungry all the time?”

Fey questioned Rika, but she did not have an answer.

Some people wanted to take her down while she was having all this fun.

The more prominent and urgent threat was none other than John.

Today, he lost his reputation, and that dominant alpha abandoned him. John had bragged so much about bagging.

But what angered him more than his defeat was that a fragile-looking beta did him in! He needed to return this humiliation and ensure no one questioned him.

Even his gang had abandoned him as the leader and joined that alpha who was always on his phone. And this all happened because of that beta.
