Chapter 191: Ch 191: I could care less
That poor beta looked ready to cry. Rika felt sorry for her, but at the same time, she also felt annoyed by the Alpha using Rika’s chair to act as a barrier between himself and that crying beta in front of him.

“Zhu Li, did you do this? Were you the reason John and Betty died? What did you do?”

The beta questioned as she tried to hold back her tears and yell simultaneously. It was clear that she was exhausted but still trying her best to cope with the loss.

And what did Zhu Li do when he heard these accusations?

He threw his head back and let out a loud laugh.

“Fuck! This is hilarious. To accuse me of all this…you are good, kid. However, if I were the one who took care of those two, I would have made sure no one found out about it and the bodies.”

“The world is a terrifying place, and you cannot even imagine how horrible it could get for innocent lambs like you. So be a good girl and don’t think much about it. It will be better for your mental health as well…. hey, be careful with me. I am delicate!”

Rika was hyper-aware of the alpha behind her. That was why she decided to kick his knees and pull herself away from him before he could fall and crush Rika.

Zhu Li, the alpha she could finally name, looked annoyed at Rika’s actions.

“What was that for? All I did was lean against you a little bit. There was no need for you to push me away like this.”

The alpha complained, but Rika shrugged off his reaching hand and reached out to the beta instead.

“I don’t know what kind of misunderstanding occurred for you to think I harmed your friends, but I assure you that it has nothing to do with me. You can relax and not worry about it now.”

Rika assured the female in front of her. But the beta still looked worried and exhausted.

Looking at her made Rika feel sorry for her.

Rika could also sympathise with this female since she was sure she would have done anything that would have happened to Emily or Damian. She could not fault this beta for losing her calm.

“I see! I knew you did not harm those two, but I needed to be specific. I should get going now.”

The beta female quickly exited while trying her hardest not to cry. Rika felt sorry for her, but she could not help her at the same time.

“What a bitch! She did not even say sorry to me or offer any compensation. I should go and take care of her so that she learns her lesson-”

Rika grabbed Zhu Li’s shirt before he could go after that unnamed beta. She also threw the alpha so that he lost his balance.

She was tired of this alpha doing whatever he wanted.

“Hey! Stay in your lane, or you will be next to disappear. I am not in a good mood these days, so you better stay in your lane.”

Rika warned the alpha, and Zhu Li looked taken aback.

It assured Rika that her message had gotten across just fine…. but then Zhu Li smiled that amused smile and annoyed Rika.

“Aw, you care so much about me. Would you be able to show me more favour if I follow you? Hey, answer me, Rika-”

The bell rang, which meant that it was time for class again. Rika finally breathed a sigh of relief once she sat down in her class.

Zhu Li had finally left Rika alone, and she could think about what happened.

Rika had a feeling that the property papers she had received in the mail had something to do with the death of those two people.

But she had a weird feeling that Rocxx might know what happened. He was someone who seemed to see a lot of random crap, so Rika decided to call him.

She skipped her class and found a secluded corner before making her call.

Rocxx picked up at the second ring and sounded cheerful when he greeted Rika.

“Well, what a surprise. Rika Goodwill decided to call me out of her own will. What can I help you with? If it’s about contacting Emily, I will let you know that you will have better luck than I. After all, my cousin is-”

“Did you do it? Did you kill an alpha named John and his girlfriend yesterday and transfer their property in my name?”

Rika cut the Alpha’s rambling off because it was all a distraction. She wanted Rocxx to get to the point, and the easiest way was for her to force him to speak.

“It is very rude of you to disrupt me like this when I was speaking. But oh well! I can forgive you this time, for Emily’s sake.”

The alpha avoided Rika’s question, but if he thought he could fool her into forgetting about her question, he was wrong.

“Don’t try to change the topic of our conversation. You were involved in this case, so you better follow up. I don’t have enough patience to deal with you.”

Rika warned the alpha, and Rocxx let out an annoyed sigh.

“I can’t hide anything from you, can I? Fine, I admit that I was involved in the property transfer, and I was also the one who decided to hand it to you since those people bullied you. But I was not the one who killed them off.”

“Or rather, I was not the one who fulfilled the contract they signed to die and leave everything behind. And I would rather not tell you who carried out this deal. You will personally go and take care of them. And I cannot have that.”

Rocxx’s voice did not change the whole time he spoke. It was clear how little he thought of two people dying.

Rika was the same.

She had only called to know what happened because she received the papers today. If not for that, Rika could have cared less about what happened to that pair.
